India is well-known around the world for its unique culture, which might not be the easiest for foreigners to adjust to. That said, there are over 5 million foreigners living in India and we’ve gotten a lot of requests to ask foreigners in India what it’s like for them to live in India. Do they feel safe in India, for example? What kind of culture shock have they experienced in India? We talked to some foreigners in India to find out.
The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Indian population.

Only advice I had for her was to be patient and let it sink in that lack of order and chaos will surround you in busy streets. Knowing her, I advised not to drive on Indian roads as she used to rage out on American roads or when someone broke lane rules. Asked her to visit Goa or Kerala first and get acclimatised before going to northern part of India. She was chilled out the entire journey and spent about 3 months in India. Never thought she can be so chill but she enjoyed the trip and did visit all her dream places before the pandemic.

My thoughts: I rather enjoyed the video. I am a South African and we have large Indian communities here in South Africa and I have met quite a few local Indians. Very beautiful, driven, caring, passionate, giving people. When my mum died an Indian family that just moved in our apartment block heard about it and insisted on giving me food and tea (I LOVE the tea they make) that whole week (It was a very poor neighbourhood I lived in at the time). Also, I met an Indian girl on FB, she visited me a few times and we became fast friend. She calls me Unna (Brother) and I call her Acca (sister).
Based on that generosity and the beautiful connections I made with South African born Indians I think visiting India, even if its a challenge, culturally, must be a wonderful experience and the people you interviewed just amplified that belief in me. I would visit India in a heartbeat.

It's sad that you will feel that way - but don't be hung up on what others have to achieve or how a country should be... Your environment is a tool and an opportunity for you to grow... If you have the talent to change it then change it and if not just don't be bogged down by it... Take it easy bro, India has to catch up with the world eventually...
