One thing I think is interesting about the Illian Pegasus Knight fact, is that even though Farina says the mounted male knights of Illia are fairly worthless, and the player may be inclined to believe her due to their less-than-stellar gameplay performance when Trec, Noah, and Zelot are recruited in Binding Blade, it's worth noting that Barrigan of the Eight Legends, the original wielder of Maltet _was_ a male horse-rider, rather than a female Pegasus Knight.
The birthdays for the Awakening children being those of the game release dates is super cool, especially as it can be seen as a love letter to the series if Awakening had flopped and the series had died.
Okay, time to keep track of what I do or do not know. ... 4 / 17 -- Okay I actually learned a lot, this was fun. (: I don't have too much in the form of super cool knowledge, but Sigurd's horse was named 'Azul' in the manga by Fujumuri Natsu. Since then I always called it Azul... >>"
Ike's beta name was Paris, which is Priam's name in the japanese version of Awakening. I think there's a greek mythology reference in how those two names are related. I recall seeing somewhere that Lyn's beta name was Alicia.
Priam is name of the king of Troy in the Trojan War in Homer's Illiad. Paris is the prince who started the war by kidnapping Helen of Sparta, marrying her, and refusing to return her to her rightful husband Agememnon, the King of Sparta, and slew Achilles by shooting him in the ankle with a poison dipped arrow as an act of revenge for Achilles slaying and dragging Hector, his older brother, around the walls of Troy by chariot after Hector slew a soldier Achilles was good friends with while that soldier was disguised as Achilles.
@@johnathanedwards9054 Correction: Helen's rightful husband and the king of Sparta was Menelaus. Agamemnon would be the king of Mycenae, and Menelaus' brother.
I'm kind of concerned that the only thing I didn't know here was the story behind Titania's creation. I don't even remember why I know about the Gaiden booklet.
5:06 - I think this is one of the rare times I actually prefer the English changes. Black Knight claiming he only sent his armor is just silly. Don’t get me wrong, I never really liked “I let you win” either, but surely they could have just gone with “warp powder lowers my strength, that’s the only reason you won” or something. Eh, either way. Still love those 2 games and I had no idea they changed that part for English! I still hold out hope that we will get the full version of RD one day….
Agreed. It makes sense from a character standpoint in the localization. Saying "Yeah, my warp power wasn't working correctly" sounds like an excuse of a fucking loser more than "Yeah, I intentionally threw that fight because you were still too baby."
This is the first time I‘ve actually seen the OG Japanese text and that is exactly what he says. Nowhere does he mention that his warp powder malfunctioned, he just says that transporting only your armor and spirit using the warp powder makes you weaker. I really don‘t understand where people are getting the malfunction from (up until now I just believed them)
7:14 Fun fact: This was also brought up in the first Fire Emblem Warriors. And it was also mentioned in FE Warriors that Hoshidan Pegasi are the exception.
I have one neat fact to add, since you said one fact about every mainline Fire Emblem game Internally, FE Heroes is listed at Iron15 in it's files, Iron being the codename for mainline FE titles. Meanwhile Echoes is referred to as Iron16 and Three Houses is Iron17 So IS considers FE Heroes to be the 15th mainline Fire Emblem game!
Fits, as Sakurai also classifies FEH as a mainline, as he counts them in the stream to explaining how Byleth works in Smash Bros, and had FEH listed while counting up the games. It's possible Sakurai counts FEH as a mainline because some in IS also count it as a mainline. It'd also explain why it has so many unique characters. It might also mean sometime in the future, the FEH characters will show up in the more "proper" mainline games when they want to do something with characters from other FE games, like they did with Cipher in Shadows of Valentina.
Aren't the numbers off a little bit? Like, didn't the canceled N64 game take an IronX that didn't get replaced or something? I feel like I remember hearing there was another number that got skipped in the Wii era to suggest the Wii was supposed to get another game. I don't know, I don't know enough about the internal code names of the games
@@loganmiller7827 Path of Radiance and Sacred Stones are both coded internally as Iron8. PoR started development before SS, and they didn't change the codenames once it became clear SS would release first. Radiant Dawn was codenames Iron10. The cancelled game did not take any codename, but we are missing an Iron18 (Three houses was 17, and Engage was 19).
The true awakening trivia was baby faced Gregor is secretly an Isekai protagonist taking his brother Gregor's name and having all these adventures in the background of the story. I dare say without Gregor we wouldn't have half of fire emblem itself.
I knew over half of these. Especially the one about the kids birthdays in awakening as I really got into the trivia and background lore of Fe at the time. Plus it was supposed to be the "last" game so of course they'd honor everything that came before it.
Most of these facts I already knew due to research and curiosity. One that I think is interesting is for Three Houses and that is that Claude's voice actor, Joe Zieja, did a metal cover of "God Shattering Star" with metal music TH-camr Family Jules for his Golden Deer appreciation subathon on his Twitch channel with the song now available on Family Jules' TH-cam channel and Spotify.
I NEVER KNEW THAT RADIANT DAWN FACT WTF!? So the canon in the Japanese version is that you’re fighting the Black Knight’s empty armor? That’s crazy. I guess that also explains why his armor no longer has the blessing. Like, it’s maybe just a replica and not the same armor, as his old armor was lost in the collapse.
Doesn't Radiant Dawn also have an unused song in its data? The Trial map theme, which is a remix of "Alm map 2", also known as "What Lies At The End" from Gaiden.
That is true, but is unused FE Callback music isn't an remarkable as Cutscene music, something that was suppose to be part of the game's story, being completely unused but still present in the game.
Titania was supposed to be like a big sister? I always saw her and Ikes relationship like mother and son, albeit not a very hands on approach from titanias side, that idea only strengthened with their support where ike asks if she loved his father.
One trivia fact I have not seen anybody talk about is Blazing Blade on the Lyn level where you protect Dorcas' wife there is a Brigand that spawns at the bottom of the screen with a C rank in Swords. I have always wondered why this was and what it would look like if somebody hacked a sword into the Brigands inventory and had him attack. Interested to see if anybody else has ever noticed/wondered this
I would be interested to hear what you consider the worst map of every game... Even your favorite game has a "worst" part, so it could be fun to hear which map of each game you just want to be over, no matter how many times you play them, or even how good you are at them
So in Path of Radiance, they tried to make a protag men could relate to, and that just happens to be the closest early fire emblem got to making gay chracter. Alright then
I only knew the Shadow Dragon fact outright--I really think you could've dug a little deeper than that, I feel like it's one of the game's most well-known characteristics especially compared to the other trivia in this video--while I knew that Gaiden was especially guilty of leaning on the player manual, I didn't know it was that detailed.
Didn’t know ALL the Awakening kids had special birthdays. Guess I’ll have to use Brady whenever I replay it, since RD is my favorite game in the series. Maybe I’ll make Lon’qu his dad to be funny. Speaking of RD, while I think the “I was going easy on you” thing is a bit dumb and retconny, I think a cool detail in a PoR remake would be if he was using his left hand in the big battle against Ike.
For the path of radiance fact, its cool that they made a male character that men can empathise with and is also gay but just as another character trait and not shoved in your face and the whole identity. considering japans stance on gay people and the wests obsetion to make charakters around that trait, its so nice to see how Ike is portrayed. A strong person with a good heart that defies unjustice, is empathic and has a furry boyfriend on the side (although Soren is likely the more conon choice). Just such a good role model
The Fates facts is pretty cool , It makes me curious as to what Robin's Primer Animation would be , I'll be disappointed if it's just the same as his default Thoron , but it's better than fire I guess 😅
Can I ask where did you get those sprites of gaiden characters because they look high quality and I can’t seem to find any sprites for genealogy characters whatsoever especially a complete set of ALL characters NPCs classes etc
What's up with 'Titania'? Is there something to that name? A few people in Fairy Tail insist on calling Erza Scarlet 'Titania'. They are both strong female warrior 'big-sister' types with long vibrant red hair.
