I am struggling against HRE military comp. Just like your opponent here I engage and then wonder why I am losing the fight. How do I deal with HRE Maa + Spears? I normally try knight + archer/crossbow, but hre has faster infantry and my gold micro isn't good enough yet to reliably pick up all spear bevor hre army hits my archers. If I tank I loose too many knights to spears. So how do you counter this? Maa lose agains hre maa. Spears also fall against Maa and are useless against spear+maa. It feels like I can't have a frontline to tank, so my ranged units/siege falls incredibly fast. Is there a way I am not seeing or do I just need to get better at kiting?
I'm only diamond but in a recent game Delhi vs HRE I went mostly crossbows and then when I ran out of frontline units I tried to run but I basically lost ALL of my archers by running away. I was far from my base. So I THINK having a front line is very important for the crossbows to get their shots off against the MaA. So, even though HRE MaA are good vs knights and MaA, I will try going more heavy into front line along with crossbows/archers.

It's a hard one for sure. I think as Delhi you are kinda forced into the knight/xbow comp against HRE, maybe MMA + xbow.
