I barely even noticed at all, but thank you for letting us know :) I know its never happened with you in the past. Thank you for all the videos and info Colton! They help me a LOT.
@@DenJSmith thanks for your feedback. I mostly use it to cover my horrible mouth breathing while stuffed up from allergies. But this one was way too loud. Sorry.
@@coltonyarbro It's your video so up to you. I just have an aversion to background music. Probably from living with an elderly MIL who cranks the tv volume. I value peace and quiet. 🤣
I have probably watched all the methods for Bible note taking and for preaching this is my favorite thing I have seen! I have been looking for something like this for a while and I love how you do it. Keep up the good work!
I had a divine marking in mine. I did a playground dedication ceremony after the worship service in memory of a baby that had died recently and the person was giving money for the playground in memory of the baby. It was a little misty and my pages got wet, but I didn't realize it. I now have "tear stained" pages in Isaiah that I will remember the moment from. I tried to iron them out, but to no avail. Great Bible though! (Disclaimer: no angels cried in the marking of my Bible. 😂)
I still use color. That's the way my brain works. I draw boxes around a theme, circle important words, and I look for lists, so there are numbers that appear in the text when I find more than two items. I also continue to use a few symbols I learned when I took the Precept Upon Precept Inductive Bible study. I'm still changing a few things from time to time, though not as much as I used to. My system is pretty much set in stone now. I don't teach, but I continue to do Bible study. My system helps me learn because I have to read the Scriptures slowly, more than once, and look for the meat and potatoes!
I have the vbv Preaching Bible also and have been trying to figure out how to mark it up... This was very inspirational and has me wanting to dive back into mine and figure out a marking system that works for me. I also love the leather rebind on yours, but I can't afford to have that done to mine yet.
This looks like a really nice bible. The only thing that would hold me back a bit, is what happens when you go back to a passage or a section of a passage you have already preached, but want to look in more detail at part of it? Have you given any thought to what you'll do then?
Really like the bible. Im still working on my note taking system myself so this is good for me to watch. One thing I might add is the music is a tad to loud and makes it harder to hear you at a few points in the video.
@@Mike_W78 thanks for watching and for your feedback. I apologize about the music and I agree it’s too loud! Definitely will be more aware of that from now on.
Sorry if I missed whether you said this in the video, but do you do this alongside a manuscript or more detailed notes? Or are you only preaching from what you write in the margins?
@@coltonyarbroI highly recommend the Spiral Bible. Very sure it comes in the ESV. After watching your video here on how you take notes and mark your Bible, the Spiral Bible would be perfect for you. And it does well with highlighting. Plenty of note taking space!
Very nice, brother! I did a similar rebind for my brother-in-law, but we used the double column verse-by-verse. I really like your single column. They did an excellent job on your rebind. th-cam.com/video/4YSlh15xSCE/w-d-xo.html

I apologize for how loud the background music is 😢. Didn’t seem that loud in editing, but after rewatching it it’s blasting. Will not happen again.

Background music is totally unnecessary

It’s not that loud, I didn’t seem to notice x

Love verse by verse to preach from
Me too!

Yep. Likely just put some more notes in the margin. Usually there is more room left. As far as the underlining system…what’s done is done 😂
Beautiful rebind on that ESV preaching bible
Rustic leatherworks did a great job!
Beautiful bible. Great notetaking tips. You're the man.
Thanks brother. Glad it was helpful.

I definitely have detailed notes as well.
Very helpful

What are your thoughts on the NET Bible or the Spiiral Bible?
Love NET full notes edition. I haven’t heard of the other one.

Is your headband or tailband still coming away from the book block or did you find a way to fix it?
@@Twiceborn_by_grace I figured out that it’s actually the Oxford Hollow. Head and tail band are fine on the block.
Do ESV Concise Study Bible
Definitely on the list 👍🏻
