As a woman who STRUGGLES with the draw to evil (I was born into a coven and had rituals preformed over me as an infant... maybe even before I was born and was pronounced by bloodline as a 4th generation witch) I refuse to set anything evil/wicked/ occult before my eyes. When I first learned of the truth of Jesus I fell in love with Him but life got crazy and the enemy's pull was strong, I fell away for a few years. When I came back to the Lord I made a decision to never allow the darkness to tempt me again. I went through some major trauma and spiritual healing and consecrated my life to the Lord! Even watching the trailer in this video was a tad bit to close for me. (A warning next time might be helpful) Satans time is coming to a close and he is trying to entice as many as he can before his time is up. My suggestion is this... even if you think its harmless and you can see the "good" in it please don't be fooled, Satan is tricky and there are hidden messages that your spirit will pick up on even if your brain does not. In my opinion its ALWAYS better to be safe than caught off guard and fall into a trap because you thought you were stronger and smarter than the enemy.
My heart went out to you and on how you were brought up. So thankful that God allowed you to truly see, hear and understand His ways and Word. Also so thankful that you chose Him and His Word to guide you. For as you know many choose to reject Him yet as you you chose not to. Being born again and knowing that when we die our bodies go back to the earth while our souls live on for eternity with Him. It is the 2nd coming of Christ that we all also await. May God continue to bless you and guide you always. ✝️🙏❤️
I would carefully disagree here. To say "we allow it" is to say we are God. Evil existed before man was created. Man fell into the trap of evil in the garden, but it already existed. We don't get to allow or disallow evil. We can allow it into our own lives or not, but either way it still exists. Evil, whether we like it or not, is part of the plan. Without evil, we would not need a Jesus or depend on Him for salvation. God created us to depend on Him.

How am I supposed to stop a witch? Why doesn't God finish with the light witchcraft, once in for all?
I was at Target and you can't believe how many toys are made for very young children based on the movie wicked. Parents need to wake up. God Bless and protect our children.
I'm really tired of the narrative being spun to make the villain sympathetic and misunderstood. Sometimes the villain is just evil, not a victim who is lashing out.
Actually that is impossible there is no such thing as a villain song who is just a villain I’m a Christian but I think it’s ok to watch wicked for some people who are spiritually mature on and know not To act on it I also believe everyone has there own convictions so if God told you not to watch it then that doesn’t mean it bad for everyone
@@ŤĦĖØŅĒÅŃÐÖŇŁŸ It's a story about the same witch that wanted her sister's shoes so she could torment Oz. She wanted to follow in her sister's footsteps. Now we're supposed to feel bad for her because she had a bad past, when she was all giddy with her sister tormenting villagers and innocent people and kidnapped Dorothy to get the shoes so she could do the same thing?
Sometimes yes. But this story is actually very different from all those others that glamorize the villains. The moral of the “Wicked” is that those in power control the narrative of who is labeled “Good” or “Evil,” and society believes them. Pretty, charismatic people like Glinda who chummy up to those in power get blessed with the title good; while people who are truly caring and stick to their values like Elphaba and refuse to align themselves with corrupt leaders get silenced and branded “evil/wicked/etc”
@@jasminaalice9473 Isn't that the argument of marxism and the call for revolution? Marx was obsessed with mephistopheles. But we can run it all they way back to the garden of Eden. God declares what is good and what is evil as the one in power. The first temptation is to eat the fruit and gain the knowledge for ourselves instead of trusting God. That is what pride is. And this movie has just packaged that same pride in a way that appeals to us. The same way marx packaged that same pride in a way that appealed to Russia. You can see the same themes getting discussed from the other side in animal farm pointing out how they become what they criticized.
As Our Lord warned us, they will call good evil, and evil good. We can see so much of that in the world NOW. So many believers feel this evil. Yet - He (Jesus / Yeshua) has overcome the world. But the danger for those that do not know Jesus NOW - Frightening! We must pray for them all! 🍞🍷
I would like to see what you say if you were drop shipped into Gaza. I but it would not be this. I bet you would be too worried to say anything while you try to survive and not get killed and try to find a safe place where they are not going to bomb. Being where there is no war you have the luxury to make that statement. How conceited.
Out of love brother or sister There’s a difference between something being wicked and something being called wicked . The movie is called wicked because one of the main characters is branded wicked because she said no to hurting others for profit
it's called Wicked... what more could you need to show you this is evil? they are coming out with these movies to show the 'back stories' of Disney's villains (Descendants, Cruella, etc) like we're supposed to feel bad for them and give them an excuse to be the way they are. disgusting.
Noooo not at all! It’s based on the broadway musical, based on the book written in 1995 based on the Wizard of Oz .This movie is not promoting witchcraft. This story has incredible themes of loving your neighbor and treating others the way you want to be treated, even if they look different than you. Yes there is magic in this movie, but that’s where imagination comes in. It’s a fantasy world where there are munchkins and talking animals, so you can’t take any of that literally. The story is really deep too, so I’d encourage you to watch it if you haven’t and then you can put your take on it. Also the descendants movies are really good, and it shows them leaving their lives of being bad and becoming good.
@@Kate-zd1im Yeah you definitely sound like someone who enjoys witchcraft.because a real Christian wouldn't say oh look the is rainbow and sunshine in the movie go and repant .
Pray for those who are still blinded, thinking this isn't the enemy trying to make witchcraft look "fun". When you wake up to the TRUTH, you will see clearly. With love from an ex-pagan, ex-witch. 💕
I personally think this is one of the situations where you have to use personal discernment on something for me as a believer in Christ. This doesn't bother me. I categorize this as fairytales no different than Lord of the rings and the lion witch in the wardrobe, which by the way, also used magic in their stories and they're both considered Christian authors. Now where I do draw the line is paranormal movies because that is actually a real thing not saying people who drove into witchcraft isn't real. This is very different from that. This is just a different lens perspective to the Wizard of Oz. But I do agree with you that parents do need to wake up and what they allow their children to digest, emotionally spiritually and physically.
No - the whole point of the movie is that false goodness causes another to become “wicked.” The “good” you think you’re seeing in the trailer is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and the “wicked” is a sheep tricked into becoming a wolf by lies and corruption. The question the film is asking is, “Are people born wicked, or do they become wicked?”
Completely agree. Unfortunately, Satan does masquerade as an agent of light. So many have eyes that are darkened in this present world. Please continue to help spread the light that others may see the truth.
Wow, it’s so funny how you can literally quote the message of the Broadway show without having actually watched it and while believing it is evil 😂 This is EXACTLY what Wicked is about.
Agents of Satan maintain their “Good” status while demonizing and labeling “wicked” those who call out their corruption. This is actually what the 21yr old renowned broadway musical is about. Wickedness, confusion, and hatred abound in every aspect of life on earth-every culture, every country, every Christian denomination, every religion, every political party. Yes we allow it. We allow true evil to continue, and we thereby shut out many people who are made in the image of God. Jesus did avoid all “manifestations” of evil. This means he did not do or take part in evil. But he did NOT avoid all “appearance” of evil. He did things which those with planks in their eyes deemed evil. And the religious leaders in power labeled him wicked, warned people against his teachings, and convinced the people to all scream crucify him. “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 ESV

When i was much older and had a better understanding of the film, I asked Why is it titled Wizard of Oz? The Wizard was a fake. Just an ordinary man acting like he's someone great and magical. But he was a zero, not a hero. He couldn't even get Dorothy home.
I highly recommend to everyone the book: Your Life Your Game by keezano🙌🏼 I read it and it changed my life, it shows how connecting with God and your inner self can lead to spiritual growth and success. A must read…God bless❤️🙏🏼
@@The.Rockyy007 the first problem is using the word “besides,” because there is no other book needed to add to the Bible. There is only one book that is needed to tell you how to live, the others are just man telling man.
It's the usual showbiz BS: "It's not her fault she's bad. It was caused by others. She was forced into wickedness." How about she decided to be bad because she liked sin? It made her feel good as a lot of sin does.
It's all meant to make you sympathize with the same witch that had no problem letting her sister torment Oz. "It isn't made for kids" It was pretty much a fanfic of a children's film. Why are they making it incredibly dark when the original story was more lighthearted?
Mark, I love listening to you, but you missed it on this one. The base of the play is that the winners write the history. Did you actually watch it? They’re just friends. And certainly not lesbians. Glenda is in love with Fierro, a guy. In fact, Elfeba also falls for Fierro. The title is a play on the fact that she actually wasn’t Wicked, she just stood up against the government and those in power. The government (the Wizard) won and then wrote the narrative that she was Wicked. We experience this in our government today. Trump was a “threat to Democracy”. They pushed that narrative and had they won, it would be part of history. Love your preaching and bible study, but seriously, you missed it on this one. Watch it first ( not just the trailers), then tell us what you think.
Agreed! I also think too that a lot of people don't realize it is a Broadway play that's been ongoing for 20+ years! Saw the play twice myself and I was so excited for the movie cuz the play was great! It means even more to me now too because my Mom passed away early this year 2024 and we were supposed to go together like we did with the play. So I sure as heck wasn't gonna miss the movie, which was (so far) as great as the play!
Ariana Grande is pushing her narrative all over the internet that she thinks Glinda is actually "in the closet" and in love with Elphaba. Kristin Chenoweth also chimed in with agreement of Ariana's statement. All of Ariana's music is about sex and its not surprising to hear her push these narratives.
I agree here. I do not see this as something I need to shield my daughter from. It's music, fantasy, etc. I see nothing sexual, no transgender crap. I'm truly curious as to how strict some of these Christians are. I'm a Christian and pay attention to what my daughter watches etc. But come on..... this is a bit much.
But does this not just prove that there is no real power in christ? Because your friends no doubt sincerly believe in christ. As an non religious outsider i just dont see any true unity or safety in christianity
I’m a true Christian, I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and through his sacrifice I’m born again, but clearly neither you nor this pastor have seen anything but the trailer, as all you’re using for evidence is the name of the movie. They called her the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz, too. The musical isn’t about witchcraft, it’s about what the playwright found about society, and he showed those themes through this story and music.
@LaurenRippe-dj6so I think you know very little about what witchcraft is. For example, communism was athiest in nature, so surely it wasn't witchcraft. But Marx was obsessed with mephistopheles. And much of his arguments are just repackaged versions of what the serpent says in the garden of Eden. I know that many see the name and jump to conclusions. But don't let those bad arguments dismiss the good ones. Both of the leading actors are practicing witches in real life. Notice the seen where Glenda leans her head on Elphaba's shoulder. The body language there is not what it looks like when 2 women are close friends. Elphaba is meant to be masculine in that scene to give romantic connotations. I can keep going with many messages in that trailer both political and occult if you wish to hear it.
@@nw6070 I think your right that is the message it sends. But it is commentary on the church, not on Christ Himself. This theme even shows in the Bible. The disciples were scattered and even denied Jesus out of fear, yet He was pulling of the biggest display of power the world had ever seen. I took a while for all the disciples to believe it.
I had no knowledge of this movie until I saw my sister-in-law playing cards at a family Thanksgiving dinner. The cards looked very different and I asked her what she was playing and I don't remember what she said. Then I asked what kind of cards she was using and she said from the movie wicked. I then saw a couple cards that were really evil looking. I was totally shocked and quickly turned away. Then I researched the movie when I got home. My sister-in-law is a pastor's wife and she runs the young children section of the church. I'm seriously praying for her now!
@ItsJustMe-nq1dg so every single movie you've watched has God in it? Or is referencing God? She is choosing good which is something God wants us to do. They want to use her powers for evil and chooses not to do it. Also it's a fictional movie.
“Wicked” does not justify wickedness, actually. The moral of the 21-yr-old broadway show is that those in power control the narrative of who is labeled “Good” or “Evil,” and society believes them. Pretty, charismatic people like Glinda who chummy up to those in power get blessed with the title good; while people who are truly caring and stick to their values like Elphaba and refuse to align themselves with corrupt leaders get silenced and branded “evil/wicked/etc” The title is “Wicked” because it is a social commentary on society’s perception of wickedness and aptness to labeling people (made in the image of God!!!) as “Wicked” if a political or religious leaders tell us so. Elphaba never actually turns wicked in the broadway show. She holds onto her values and does not align herself with the corrupt Wizard, even though he would give her position, status, renown! She does later accept the title from the public after combating it again and again. With the public and those in power labeling her as wicked and no friend willing to stand up for her, she ends up losing the courage to fight it. So she gives up on her fight for goodness and change, hides away and let them think what they want. We’ll see if the movie version of act two holds tight or if they do try to make her an actual villain.
the pastor is unable to discern the meaning of the film, and is probably unaware of the book the film is based on which goes back many many decades. the pastor just sees a green witch, therefore its demonic. Leave the pastor his flock.
Hey! I’m a Christian and I loved this movie! It’s based on the broadway musical, based on the book written in 1995 based on the Wizard of Oz .This movie is not promoting witchcraft and the 2 female leads are not lovers. This story has incredible themes of loving your neighbor and treating others the way you want to be treated, even if they look different than you. Yes there is magic in this movie, but that’s where imagination comes in. It’s a fantasy world where there are munchkins and talking animals, so you can’t take any of that literally. The story is really deep, and I would encourage you to watch it and see for yourself:)) also the music is INCREDIBLE
If it’s a stumbling block for you, don’t go. I can just tell you my experience, as a practicing Christian (and yes, I give tithes AND offerings above tithes, each paycheck, my whole life, since that seems to be this pastor’s requirement to prove your bonafides). I wanted to preview this movie first before bringing my grade-school and middle-school aged daughters. We’re very careful about the media we allow them to consume, and pretty sensitive (we do VidAngel, have nixed Netflix, etc). I went the first time to preview with a very close friend who is also an overseas Christian missionary. We both LOVED it (messaging included). I brought my daughters within the week and we’ll likely go again over Christmas break. They loved it (just as they loved Narnia), and it led to some of the best conversations we have had on things like the holocaust (definite parallels here), Jewish history, censorship and propaganda, and a review on the difference between imaginary literary devices used in fiction versus real-life witchcraft (which we’ve also discussed when they saw Narnia, LOTR, and Harry Potter 1-3….we didn’t even let them watch Harry Potter after the 3rd film if that helps give you an idea of how conservative we are). It was a great experience, and we’ll be going again I’m sure.
As a Catholic, love you Pastor Mark! I am a 29 year old mom of three boys and have really appreciated your advice on raising children - and more. Will not be watching this movie! In fact, this was the first time I saw a trailer. God bless you my friend in Christ.
I strongly agree with Mr. Driscoll on this one. We need Jesus... because without the sense of discernment and idea... we could be accepting demonic things right before our very eyes. As a Gen Z young teen, I am trying not to be OF this world. Amen... Jesus is coming back soon.
In addition to this video, pay close attention to the Xfinity TV commercial that promotes Wicked. The start of it quickly flashes to children in The Nativity with the song lyrics, "something has changed." It's very quick and subtle. Then, it shows the clip from the movie. Also, note that the comment section on YT is blocked. This is how evil gets in the minds and hearts of people and perceives itself as harmless. Be aware. Be diligent. Stand strong in the Lord Jesus Christ. 🙏🕊
As a young woman ( the target demographic) and a christian I can attest that I saw the movie and I'm still 100% christian, the movie has absolutely nothing related ro religion in it, it doesn't make you doubt nor it has no subliminal message. I thought inly Jehovah's witnesses were this extremist
I have not seen the movie, but identified at least 4 "subliminal messages" in the trailer. Honestly, I don't think subliminal messages work, but I could be wrong and don't wish to support such things. Just going to point out, the actress that plays Glenda has claimed to be a real witch multiple times. I find it weird that you think extremist is an insult. Jesus was an extremist. It's just a matter of what type of extreme.
the pastor saw a green witch trailer, and just thought about satan. so he just wanted to warn his flock to avoid the movie, making them miss out on the blessing and lesson they could actually learn from the movie as a Christian.
@viperstriker4728 yes I listened to him scare-mongering his faithful. Which he did because he saw a green witch and movie titled called wicked and it didn't sit right with his soul, learn to see the wood for the trees.
@@kaomsebai Are you aware the actress that plays Glenda calls her self a witch in real life? Or if you watch the trailer close, there is a scene where the 2 leads have romantic body language. Given that they are actors, that is very intentional. The fact that you missed points like these and just talk about the title tells me you were not listening to this pastor at all. And then we could talk about the political messages that are being pushed in the trailer. There are quite a few.
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. The comment section shows just how badly the institutional church has failed us, people are completely ignorant of how the enemy works. Satanism, the occult, new age, witchcraft - it's all the same and these things appeal to every fleshly human emotion and desire, they sound so good and are so luring but "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death". We live in a fallen world and our flesh is a curse that wars against the Spirit, they are contrary the one to the other so stop sowing to the flesh through witchcraft & idolatry! You cant twist the messaging in this movie into some abstract Biblical parallel as a way to justify watching it and using it to witness to your secular friends - God's word does that and if they wont recieve His word, they wont recieve Him, or worse, they decieve themselves into thinking they know who He is because a movie with a feel good message made them feel good. Please reconsider before watching this, and most other movies these days - "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall".
It seem rather shallow. Jesus wasn't a rebel figuring things out. He was a king that knew what he had to do and gave His life in submission to the authority higher then governments. Honestly, Wicked's plot better maps on to marxism and the call for revolution. Which itself was derived from Marx's Christian background but perverted by his rejection of God.
Interesting that people who aren't bothered by a god's flesh being eaten and blood consumed by worshippers, should be offended by a fictional story of love, acceptance, and joy.
I have tried to hold my sister-in-law (who works in a Church), as well as my niece (her husband is the youth pastor at their Church) accountable regarding this movie & musical. They are sooo entrenched and bonded to this from their childhood that they literally want to bond with their young children over this movie. Their children now know the words to all of the songs. It grieves my spirit beyond belief and I am at a loss as to what to do.
Fast and pray for them for a particular period of time. Ask the Lord if it's 3 days, 7 etc. A direct confrontation or bringing up the subject with them will probably not go well because they are fiercely attached to the content and already have soul ties towards it. But the fervent prayer of the righteous which is you as a believer, will be very effective. ❤
Im Christian that tithes to my church and my family and I watched this movie. We know that it's not a Christian movie and did not expect Christian morals and values to be at the center. We understood that it's a fictional, fantasy story. It was a great movie and I can describe it as a light hearted, musical comedy. Moana 2 had more problematic concerns than Wicked.
I just saw Moana 2 and did not see anything inappropriate. Wicked though, I think we need to enjoy a fictional, fantasy movie. They is nothing sexual, costumes are appropriate... I'm doing research but am having a hard time believing this is a bad movie - Wicked.....
@reneejohnson3476 Moana 2 had a lot of ancestors worship. Clearly they are a culture that worships a different God. And the breeze over the fact that Moana dies and a ritual is done and she's brought back to lie or is now a demigod, i guess. I personally understand that's it's a cartoon movie, but if people complaining about Wicked is don't understand why. My kids had more questions about Moana
Okay. Then stick to the Bible and don't watch fiction with your kids. Sorry kids, no cartoons about loving families and friendships. The cartoon was beautiful. Do you know about anything Hawaii??
@reneejohnson3476 I think you are misunderstanding me. It's not me, Im saying this for It's for tge one's complaing about Wicked. Moana 2 has bigger problems. Ancestors worship is witchcraft. Me and my kids understand a fictional world. It's the one's who complain about Wicked that do not complain about Moana 2.
This movie was designed to have a new generation empathize with wickedness. "oh the wicked witch isn't really wicked, she was wronged and therefore her actions are not only justified but applauded". They also portrayed the "good" witch as a dumb blonde and a character to be laughed at.
I agree that over time more and more 'kids' movies contain elements of 'magic', occult practice etc until now they just come out bare faced and make heroes out of witches. Never be shown in my house that's for sure.
This guy ( not even calling him a pastor) resigned from a church after “ bullying” and “patterns of persistent sinful behavior.” He was called out on this . Do your research people, before trusting your eternity to them.
I would say, it depends on the movie and what it's saying and imagery and stuff Satan can use certain things or evil, but God can also use certain things for good. It's deeper than just, "it's just a movie" let's just say It depends on the movies aspects. Lie Minecraft, it has magic and witches, but not really occult stuff, so it seems to be fine. But this movie, little suspicious, even if we don't see it, it could probably be being used by Satan to cause people to, as one commenter said, teach people to be compassionate to Evil. Or to perpetuate certain ideas that would lead away from God, lead into certain evil things, etc.
The movie title is a ironic play on words. It is harmless fun. What is harmful is someone who does not research and makes decisions based on what someone says without doing their own unbiased research. Again it seems Christians don't know what fiction and non fiction is here is a video to help 22 And the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), knowing [how to distinguish between] good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take from the tree of life as well, and eat [its fruit], and live [in this fallen, sinful condition] forever”
It's named after her song and she sings it on the DVD of her sweetener world tour copying the last supper picture from Da Vinci on that live performance. It's awfully sexual and powerfully disrespectful towards christians values, absolutely shameless and totally careless.
I saw that movie in theaters just a few days ago. I know that it’s not exactly the most Christian friendly movie but I mean I’m still kind of new to this faith. I just got baptized in October 2023 and I’m still not sure about what shows in movies I should watch. I found some movies I can watch, but I haven’t really found any shows other than the chosen that are Christian that I should watch does anyone have any recommendations for me?
I don’t watch any TV, and can’t recall the last secular movie I saw. I would advise to even avoid “Chosen”.. I believe Angel Studios make some great movies. But I’ve yet to watch one
Angel Studios is great. I tend to look for older shows in general. Really depends on what your into. If you like anime, Vinland Saga has a lot of strong Christian themes (have to watch both seasons as it starts by showing "fake" Christianity to contrast with the real thing.) If you like Sci-fi, Any of the Star Wars books by Timothy Zahn are good. Or the old Star Trek, I enjoy taking the time to ask what Jesus would do in each situation in that show. At the risk of making myself sound old even though I am not, Hogan's heroes is great. Last man standing has been Christian leaning too for comedy. Saints and Soldiers are great war movies that have a generic but strong moral theme. If you like fantasy and don't mind a Catholic world view, I just finished Lord of the Rings and you can tell it was made by a Catholic.
@@BernardLawesWhats the reason please that you would advise against the Chosen series. Had heard about through word of mouth and was considering settling down to view it.
@ to be honest, perhaps I’m bias because I don’t watch TV at all. The Chosen seems to portray the stories fairly accurately however, as with any adaptation, there are numerous extra-Biblical references.. Some of it is to add context, but While the series does represent the biblical teaching, it puts words in Jesus’ mouth that are not in the Bible, and the words are sometimes controversial pertaining to their accuracy in representing the tenor of Scripture. If the viewer is not studying their Bible regularly, nor spending time with God daily, these extra-biblical references can potentially mislead young believers down a wrong path. Additionally another major issue is that the production studio and the producers are Mormon. This is not an attack on Mormons - but, the fact is Mormons do not believe in the Trinity but believe in many gods. In fact, they believe one day we all can become little gods in their system. They also believe that “Jesus” is the brother of Satan. All of these Mormon beliefs are antithetical to primary tenants of Biblical Christianity. Therefore the danger in watching Chosen resides in subtle extra-biblical references that could make it into the show. Maybe this hasn’t happened, yet, but where there’s a will, there’s a way to lead people into deception. This is the case with any kind of media entertainment - BE CAREFUL. Stay prayed up and read your Bible daily
To everyone upset about this film, I have a better idea. Instead of being so upset about something we can't control and that we weren't bound to get a Christian message from, let's pray for the cast of "Wicked" and everyone who was involved in making that movie. Don't forget, Jesus Christ made his great sacrifice for them, too.
Pastor, te acompanho nas redes sociais desde do dia que você ministrou em uma conferência, e teve a coragem de se posicionar contra ao espírito de jezabel. Que Deus abençoe você e sua família.🥰💛💛
Attended a bridal shower today and overheard two church attending young women discuss how many times they have seen this movie and loved it. Sadly, seems this movie has cast a spell on many as "Wicked“ has broken box office records.
I have no desire to watch a movie about witches. As a Christian and an ex-witch, I don't want to associate myself with anything demonic. It cant always be helped, but I do my best.
I have personally watched this movie and they are not trying to push anything toward demonic stuff it is just a story of friendship and overcoming oppressors.
Yes! I was just telling my husband I think this is the new Harry Potter. Not once in my 20 years of being a Wicked fan have I wanted to abandon Christ and become a witch 😂
@@LiftedroseI never watched Harry Potter and my children know that we do not watch witches as Our Lord Himself is against it.But anybody can do whatever he wants and that doesn’t change the true intent of what the devil is doing with those movies.
I think the problem is it’s trying to make bad look good. Witches are of the devil not of God. There is no good, in any type of witchcraft. We don’t excuse evil according to scripture. Isaiah 5:20, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Proverbs 17:15.
I'm worrying about my new grandchild being born to a mother who got into witchcraft years ago. She has books on divination and witchcraft in her house. One of her friends called the baby a witching. It breaks my heart. We raised our children in a home filled with love of God, Jesus and the Bible.
Do not worry. Jesus is watching over your grand-child and your children, Nothing can harm them, just pray and trust in His Divine Never-ending Love and Mercy!
What's also bad is that they're twisting the original story of The Wizard of Oz. Keeping the magic aside, the male wizard is the good one while the witch is the wicked. Now they twist it and make the man look bad (again).
I am a follower of Christ and saw the movie twice. I was hesitant because I honestly had the same feelings in your statement before I saw the film. After I saw the film my mind was completely changed. To me I saw a film about a girl who was had a deeper calling on her life and chose to give up what the world wanted for her, the power, the fame, the fortune. She turned her back on the world to follow something different. I saw it as a believer turning their back on the world to follow Jesus. It is heart breaking that her friend chooses the world but the main character says, “ something has changed within me, something is not the same, I am no longer playing by the rules of someone else’s game.” It gave me goose bumps, to me I see someone who is giving up the world and following Jesus. We can see evil if we want to see it in everything but I choose to use it as a way to tell my non believer friends especially gay friends about what it is like to follow Jesus.
Yes! It’s a great movie. I’m skeptical by his take if he even actually watched it. It’s got a great message. It confuses me why people can’t distinguish between make believe and reality.
Coming at this comment with genuine love and concern. Does this movie mention Christ in anyway shape or form or are you perceiving it that way? If we call ourselves followers of Christ we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. I can’t see Jesus in this film. I have to disagree completely with this comment.
I don’t even want my children having the stuff they made based on the movie. My daughter’s grandpa bought her a nightgown that had the wicked logo on the tag and there was a girl with a magic wand on the front of the nightgown. My first thought was WHY did you buy this for her? She was probably the one that picked it out because it was really pretty but she doesn’t understand what she’s doing and she needs US to explain why it’s not a good choice.
The worst part is the promotion to kids of a story that isn’t meant for adults. There are at least 3 rape scenes within the book and the broadway musical includes a heavily implied sex scene. They are marketing the entire book series FOR KIDS.
No they aren't! Nowhere in the promotional material did they ever tell kids to read the book! They based the movie on the musical; not the books. Also, the "sex scene" is nothing but a short song and dance number ending by Glinda stating that "One thing led to another". It then cuts to the birth of Elphaba. It's only mildly suggestive. Some kids will understand and some kids won't. Plus, Wicked isn't even a kid's movie. It's a family film; appropriate for all ages. I'd argue that the true demographic for this film is teens and adults. Most of the merchandise made for Wicked includes things like perfume, Funko Pop!, colabs with young adult clothing brands, jewelry, fashion accessories, makeup, bags and purses, etc. There's only a handful of children's items compared to the massive amount of promo material aimed at a more mature demographic.
So what if we took our kids to see it? I’m a Christian but I guess I got sucked right in to the nostalgia, growing up with Wicked. But I already took my 2 girls (8 and 11). I tried to explain that all witchcraft is bad and demonic but do you have any other tips in how to speak to our kids now that the can of worms has been opened? I tithe a lot and do a lots of volunteering at my church and my girls are very involved. I feel like a total failure right now, so some advice is appreciated.
My big fear is how many young kids will read the book because of this movie. Parents who have seen the movie or play will think that it is kid appropriate but it’s far from it. The books are the most uncomfortable thing I have came across with s*x either involving r*pe or an affair, killing, dark magic, and honestly just foul stuff that I can’t even begin to describe. Maybe I just have been blessed to not come across books like this but it is the most uncomfortable book I have came across and would greatly recommend not reading it unless you want to hurt your mind and soul.
(A warning next time might be helpful)
Satans time is coming to a close and he is trying to entice as many as he can before his time is up.
I understand…. God bless you.
Amazing testimony!
Amen ❤❤❤❤
Prayers for you…
My heart went out to you and on how you were brought up. ✝️🙏❤️
When an unbeliever says: “how can there be a God when there’s so much evil?”
My response is: we allow it
Exactly. Because people do evil, evil still exist.
Evil is the absence of God, just as Darkness is the absence of Light.
Evil proves God, He’s the very definition of good. We wouldn’t know evil is evil without knowing first what is good.
The line between wicked and righteous is widening. Don’t take your eyes off Yeshua. He alone is good. He is King.

I'm really tired of the narrative being spun to make the villain sympathetic and misunderstood. Sometimes the villain is just evil, not a victim who is lashing out.
Actually that is impossible there is no such thing as a villain song who is just a villain I’m a Christian but I think it’s ok to watch wicked for some people who are spiritually mature on and know not To act on it I also believe everyone has there own convictions so if God told you not to watch it then that doesn’t mean it bad for everyone

sometimes people are complex and no one is completely evil or completely good, ever thought about that?
That's in regards to prophecy read literally like a few verses prior.
Spiritual grooming to be compassionate towards evil

it's called Wicked... what more could you need to show you this is evil? they are coming out with these movies to show the 'back stories' of Disney's villains (Descendants, Cruella, etc) like we're supposed to feel bad for them and give them an excuse to be the way they are. disgusting.
Enough said.
It's called 'sympathy for the devil,'
It’s called fiction. The ending to those fairy are a lot darker than Disney ever portrayed.

It's almost as if they are calling good evil, and evil good. Who knew that was coming???
"almost as if"? ... that's exactly what they're doing!
Not a real shocker to me .
No, it’s calling out church and political leaders who call their evil “Good” and call anyone who stands up and calls out their corruption “evil”
Wow, it’s so funny how you can literally quote the message of the Broadway show without having actually watched it and while believing it is evil 😂
This is EXACTLY what Wicked is about.
All right, I will do my best to help spread light right now by responding to your comment
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:12-13 ESV

It blows my mind that Christian’s need to be told not to watch something titled WICKED
When i was much older and had a better understanding of the film, I asked Why is it titled Wizard of Oz?
The Wizard was a fake. Just an ordinary man acting like he's someone great and magical.
But he was a zero, not a hero. He couldn't even get Dorothy home.

It wasn’t designed for kids. It’s the back story of wizards of oz. It’s the origins of it. Harry Potter actually was all about sorcery.
It's all meant to make you sympathize with the same witch that had no problem letting her sister torment Oz.
"It isn't made for kids" It was pretty much a fanfic of a children's film. Why are they making it incredibly dark when the original story was more lighthearted?
its also just a movie lol
Going to see it tomorrow with my mom 🤩 been waiting for like a month!!
Exactly!!
It's true. I think you have to watch it to know. The plot has nothing to do with witchcraft or gender confusion
I was very disappointed this weekend at church when my fellow Christians were raving about how good Wicked is.
What a sad and out of touch take @@nw6070
Thank youo so much for doing this!
“Wicked” does not justify wickedness, actually. The moral of the 21-yr-old broadway show is that those in power control the narrative of who is labeled “Good” or “Evil,” and society believes them.

The title is “Wicked” because it is a social commentary on society’s perception of wickedness and aptness to labeling people (made in the image of God!!!) as “Wicked” if a political or religious leaders tell us so.
It does justify because witchcraft is demonic regardless of how they wanna label it or make it look.
the pastor is unable to discern the meaning of the film, and is probably unaware of the book the film is based on which goes back many many decades. the pastor just sees a green witch, therefore its demonic. Leave the pastor his flock.

Just going to point out, the actress that plays Glenda has claimed to be a real witch multiple times.
I find it weird that you think extremist is an insult. Jesus was an extremist. It's just a matter of what type of extreme.

Perfect & Amen!!
Very well put Pastor Mark. I have seen the musical of the show and you have maturely discern this show on what it's true intentions are about.
Spot on!
The original was about good versus evil . This is about good joining evil.
How is good joining evil?
bruh what
It sure isn’t. It’s about a good girl who decides not to join the evil politician and then gets branded as wicked!
Agreed, I have no desire whatsoever to watch this.
Sadly, I know 'Christians' who see this as a reflection of Jesus. They actually do. How? When I point out stuff, well, I get shut out.
I love Mark. God Bless You
I have tried to hold my sister-in-law (who works in a Church), as well as my niece (her husband is the youth pastor at their Church) accountable regarding this movie & musical.
Hollywood's latest evil. Amen, Brother Mark
Exactly.
Thank you pastor Mark
Arianna Grande had stated that she used witchcraft to get this part. So.......
😮Really? 😮 They two look like they did.
She claims she's a witch. Look up her interview.
No she didn’t lol
@@TheCruz269why do I feel like we are about to relive the Salem witch trials.

100% agree. We need the Holy Spirit to give us insight to tell the differen between Good and Evil.
Thank you. Someone who sees Evil at work.
Satan knows his time is short - that's why we see him pulling all the stops and is going all out.
Can you believe this years Christmas movie is Satan Clause. Horns and all. Not even trying to hide it. God help the children🙏🙏
This guy ( not even calling him a pastor) resigned from a church after “ bullying” and “patterns of persistent sinful behavior.” He was called out on this . Do your research people, before trusting your eternity to them.
My question is this, would the same criticism of wicked apply to the original wizard of oz? Both movies had witches, even if they were allegorical.
I read something online ages ago that said the author of the wizard of Oz was into the occult
The wizard of oz is a wonderful story
I would say, it depends on the movie and what it's saying and imagery and stuff
Satan can use certain things or evil, but God can also use certain things for good. It's deeper than just, "it's just a movie" let's just say
It depends on the movies aspects. Lie Minecraft, it has magic and witches, but not really occult stuff, so it seems to be fine. But this movie, little suspicious, even if we don't see it, it could probably be being used by Satan to cause people to, as one commenter said, teach people to be compassionate to Evil.
Or to perpetuate certain ideas that would lead away from God, lead into certain evil things, etc.
thanks for posting and sharing this thumbs
Grateful you spoke out on this Pastor Mark. Wicked is not “harmless” fun.
It’s called fiction
@@vanessaverner8480 it's called demonic
No entertainment From the media is usually
The movie title is a ironic play on words. It is harmless fun. What is harmful is someone who does not research and makes decisions based on what someone says without doing their own unbiased research. Again it seems Christians don't know what fiction and non fiction is here is a video to help
22 And the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), knowing [how to distinguish between] good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take from the tree of life as well, and eat [its fruit], and live [in this fallen, sinful condition] forever”
Doesn’t Grande have a perfume out called “ God is a woman”…..that says enough. And enough is enough.
It's named after her song and she sings it on the DVD of her sweetener world tour copying the last supper picture from Da Vinci on that live performance. It's awfully sexual and powerfully disrespectful towards christians values, absolutely shameless and totally careless.
Wow...did not know that...yes it is surely enough to know where she thinks.. I was also told she is a witch
Who remembers The wizard of Oz normally the witch dies from water
If you like anime, Vinland Saga has a lot of strong Christian themes (have to watch both seasons as it starts by showing "fake" Christianity to contrast with the real thing.)
If you like Sci-fi, Any of the Star Wars books by Timothy Zahn are good.
@BernardLawes Thank you.Very valid points. It'sreallu the subtle tactics of the enemy one needs to even careful of.
I submit to you that we can and should be doing both.
Thank you
Thank you for clarifying this movie for me. I’d rather mow my lawn blessing to you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
and watch the movie since its just a movie and nothing more.

yep, satan has influenced movies, books, and even video games. it's a shame
This whole take is 💯 accurate
You are right on 💯 percent!
Attended a bridal shower today and overheard two church attending young women discuss how many times they have seen this movie and loved it. Sadly, seems this movie has cast a spell on many as "Wicked“ has broken box office records.
RIGHT ON PASTOR MARK!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR BRING TRUTH IN THIS DARK WORLD!!!!
Deceived. Flee from the demonic, don't underestimate the evil deceptive power of the demonic.
I think the problem is it’s trying to make bad look good. Witches are of the devil not of God. There is no good, in any type of witchcraft. We don’t excuse evil according to scripture. Isaiah 5:20, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Proverbs 17:15.
@emiliesophietafong838 do your children get to celebrate holidays and dress up as princess's etc?!
✝️🙏🙏🙏💯
absolutely right 👌
God bless you sir, I listen to nearly all your sermons
Blood of Jesus.
Amen!!
What's also bad is that they're twisting the original story of The Wizard of Oz.
Keeping the magic aside, the male wizard is the good one while the witch is the wicked.
Now they twist it and make the man look bad (again).
Thank you Pastor Mark and God Bless you 🙏✝️💙
The evil one knows his time is short
You are deceived😮
Deception😮
@@samanthagchere nah, I can still tell when a movie isn’t real. Would you watch the wizard of oz? It’s basically same thing. Narnia books?
Wicked was Amazing! Ill be watching again when it comes to streaming
"I watched Wicked and enjoyed it so that I could tell you not to"
The worst part is the promotion to kids of a story that isn’t meant for adults. There are at least 3 rape scenes within the book and the broadway musical includes a heavily implied sex scene. They are marketing the entire book series FOR KIDS.
I thought the movie was bad. I didn't know it was this bad.
And yet, "baby it's cold outside" got canceled.
Thank you and God bless you!! ✝️❤️
Baphomet Professor. Nuf said.
Dang. A documentary of American politics, colleges and industry in 2024
Mark, are you aware of what's going on with Billy Carson and Wes Huff?
I agree Pastor
My big fear is how many young kids will read the book because of this movie. Parents who have seen the movie or play will think that it is kid appropriate but it’s far from it. The books are the most uncomfortable thing I have came across with s*x either involving r*pe or an affair, killing, dark magic, and honestly just foul stuff that I can’t even begin to describe. Maybe I just have been blessed to not come across books like this but it is the most uncomfortable book I have came across and would greatly recommend not reading it unless you want to hurt your mind and soul.
