I absolutely love your classroom!! I see you store your expo and Mr. Sketch markers right side up. A previous master teacher told me to store them upside down and it’s a game changer! The ink trickles to the tip when you store them this way.
Okay stop! You are not lazy! Don't bring yourself down like that. You are a teacher who is busy and has to prioritize things. At the end of the day you're tired and probably don't feel like cleaning every little mess when it might just get messed up again the next day. I think the classroom looks great!
Loved this video! You I spied me to totally clean up and reorganize my teacher closet, as welI'm as get rid of systems that aren't working. Stayed in school till 6:30.... I have 1 more pile of papers to go through but left it for today.... I needed the kick in the butt, and this was it! Report cards were easier this year, thanks to your previous advice- since I now mark all writing assignments in 1, 2, 3 or 4. Thanks for the videos... Happy Holidays!
I am student teaching right now (waiting to pass the PRAXIS to make it official) but I have been looking for fabric or "curtains" for my classroom door for safety. I LOVE your idea of having paper instead of a curtain because it saves time if you need to lock down a classroom!!
I'm currently in school to become a teacher, and I absolutely love watching your vlogs. They are helping to keep me motivated. I am so excited to finish and have my own class. 💙
Wow, amazing!! Thank you for making this video, Ms Coates!! I learned a lot from your system. They are practical and effective. Keep up the good work!! Looking forward to your next videos👍
I know I am late to the game with this video but thank you for finally sharing this!!! I love watching your vlogs and I love your classroom set up videos!!! I love your energy, and trust you are far from lazy! I am a junior at my University I am a Elementary Education major and I love seeing your “realness” to elementary. Thank you!!!
I am a 49 year old tutor and I want to be a kid in your classroom! What a great environment. I'm watching all your videos while I organize my tutoring room. :) Thanks for motivating me. :)
I would love to know more about IB. What exactly is it and does it take up a lot of instructional time? I have never heard of that before and am curious. Love your videos!!
Hello! This is the second video of yours that I'm watching and I LOVE it! Thank you. Question, please: Did you make those labels or can you share where you got them, please? I love that they are black and white and large letters! Great job and I wish you a great year!
Wow! You have 3 September 6th bdays?? You may of talked about it , but what do you do for kids bdays? My bday is July 1st which is in summer, and my half bday is Jan 1st which is a holiday.
I just got a long term position in first grade! Today was my first day! I was completely lost! I was late to everything, even missed going to the library 😞 The teacher only left lesson plans for this week but didn’t explain much! I’m nervous but more excited! Any advice for me? ❤️
Janet Maynez I have had 5 first grade long term positions in 4 years. My advice....treat each day like it is brand new. Some days are going to be crazy where you are late to everything. Some days will run smoothly...but don’t count on it before Christmas break :) you will develop a rhythm...and don’t be afraid to change some things to best fit your style of teaching....especially if you are going to be there for a long time. It is hard to teach in someone else’s space by their exact routines for a long time. Trust your teacher gut to make decisions about your classroom. It is yours while the other teacher is gone. (With that said though, when it is time for you to leave make sure you leave it in better condition than you found it....the regular teacher’s transition will be hard enough without having to find everything again. ) Ask, ask, ask and ask some more for help from your grade level team if you are having a hard time. Treat every colleague as though they are a treasure trove of valuable information that you can soak up like a sponge. You will find that every teacher has different tricks and tips that will help you out. Lastly, enjoy the kids. First grade is such a magical time for kiddos. It is filled with wonder, humor and a lot of energy! They are becoming readers, little mathematicians and above all little else, little citizens of a larger community. It is the highest privilege to help them blossom into ready second graders.
I bought a shoe organizer for my student headphones for the upcoming school year! I couldn't stand the ziplock baggies all over the room and headphones falling out of the bin. I'm so excited about the new way to store headphones 😂
we have some super cute contact paper at my work (Dollar Tree but i'm in Canada) that would TOTALLY go with your decor. you could cover the fridge with it!! i can send u some if you want.
I'm 19, so not a teacher, but I'm loving every video regardless!! I am from Norway, so our school system is different to America - do you grade the work the students do in the third grade? Wondering because I think I've heard you mention it before, and in Norway you dont get graded before the 8th grade xx Again, absolutely love your channel :D
My child is going into 1st grade this year and has been getting graded since his second 9 weeks of kindergarten. Things for how they teach children now are way different than when I was a child.
You mentioned a packet you are using for Main Idea & Details.. I am currently working on that exact thing! Is this a product you found on TPT or did you create it yourself?
+Early EDventures Shelley , I like your handwriting because it matches your beautiful looking hair and smile . What do you use to reward your team points with or do you just mark them on your white board ? - Dwight
If the child is anything like mine it's probably a huge distraction. I'm not sure how but this child can turn anything into a distraction. He comes by it honestly :)
Seeing your book hospital full makes me feel better! Haha, mine is also full but I haven't had the time to deal with it!! Your classroom looks great!!!!
I absolutely love your classroom!! I see you store your expo and Mr. Sketch markers right side up. A previous master teacher told me to store them upside down and it’s a game changer! The ink trickles to the tip when you store them this way.
VLOGMAS REQUEST! I'm really interested to learn more about IB schools. Please do a video about your experiences being in an IB school, pros and cons?
I'd love to see how you teach. Like your thought process, how you go about introducing material, etc.

Your room! ❤️ you have it organized so nicely, I love it! Also I wish we had more IB schools in the area. 😩 I only know of one.
I'm currently in school to become a teacher, and I absolutely love watching your vlogs. They are helping to keep me motivated. I am so excited to finish and have my own class. 💙

Love ❤️ your videos. They don’t come fast enough. Love your music

Your handwriting is so neat, your anchor charts look so good!
Would love to see you talk about IB and your experiences. I am an IB teacher in Japan and enjoy teaching it but find it overwhelming!!
What is the font you use on power point?
Accomplished teacher makes her students succeed by providing great learning materials.

we have some super cute contact paper at my work (Dollar Tree but i'm in Canada) that would TOTALLY go with your decor. you could cover the fridge with it!! i can send u some if you want.
I like the way you have your classroom set up
Where can I find the wood back splash?
Are the white bookshelves from Ikea?? I’m a first year teacher trying to find the perfect bookshelves to fit the dollar tree bins + picture books!
Please link the leveled readers you have purchased!
curious to know why you use powerpoint to make your labels, etc? is it just easier than word? btw love your videos!!
OK seriously, how do you remember where you buy everything? I can't even remember where I bought my shoes last week.
I’m not a teacher but am I able to get resources off of the tpt website for doing at home stuff with my kids?
annie Harrington yes!
Is there a reason your kids have to put their lunches in a lunch bin?
I would guess one reason might be to keep it from being stepped on! I teach high school and they sometimes step on MY lunch! Haha.
I LOVE all your Vlogs. You are awesome! Your room is amazing!

I've heard a lot about the Norwegian system. I think it's genius!
@@YuLingZeng313 I'd like to know more about this
@@YuLingZeng313 me too!! I might be biased, but based on what I have heard about other systems I'm so grateful I've grown up in Norway

Hey! You did great! I need to get mine put together so y’all seeing this can see what my classrooms like with Harry Potter!!! 😍🥰
Really interested why dont you let your kids have there water bottles at there desks?
Whats a behavior contract?
If the child is anything like mine it's probably a huge distraction. I'm not sure how but this child can turn anything into a distraction. He comes by it honestly :)
So many water bottle spills and they fall of the desks every 5 min such a distraction
What’s morning meeting
Seeing your book hospital full makes me feel better! Haha, mine is also full but I haven't had the time to deal with it!! Your classroom looks great!!!!
Does your classroom enter through the outside? Are the hallways outside?
