I love my Steeldive SD1970 and SD1953. The Addiesdive MY-H2 is an incredible value as well. The Casio MDV-106 WAS a good value in the past, but the AliExpress divers are better sized and have better specs for a similar price. Vostok Komandirshies and Amphibians are good pieces to have in a collection, but they aren't great everyday watches. I own three Casios, but I almost never wear them anymore. I picked up my AE1200 for $16.50, so it is a much better watch than the F-91W for not much more money.
More and more people are getting the Steeldives as they are the best bang for the buck. I have the AD2030 from Addiesdive and it’s quite nice for its price. Casio will always be a good watch for under $100.. I have two of them and I’m getting another F-91W3 (green). Can’t go wrong with Casio.
@@HackTheWrist I wore my Casio DW200 for many years in the USAF. I also have an AE1200 and a G-SHOCK GW-300A-1V. I tend to wear my Steeldive, Addiesdive, Cadisen and other Chinese automatic watches, and only break out the G-SHOCK for specific situations.
The F91W is OK, but I prefer the W217H, which goes for under $20 on Amazon US as well. It’s a bit larger, easier to read, and has 50m water resistance and should survive swimming. The backlight is also better than the one on the F91W, which is barely usable. The Casio W96H has a different design, but has an even better backlight, 50m water resistance, a 10 year battery, and dual time. It shows the local time in all modes. The best backlight in this price category can be found on the A168 and F105W, which have an electroluminescent backlight. The G-Shock GW-9600 goes for under $90 on Amazon US right now. This watch shares the looks of the DW-9600 but runs on solar power and has „Multiband-6“, it receives time radio signals if you live close enough to one of the transmitters.
Hi, F-91W is quite good and classic for its price. W217H is kinda big for my tiny wrist, which is why I opted out for the F-91W. DW-9600 looks cool, there are loads of nice Casio's out there. I'm thinking of making a video about Casio/G-Shocks. Thank you for your message, much appreciated.
I wear a orient star. Got it for under 300 . Insanely good price. Off a auction bid. Its build quality is the same as oris, an the likes. Only watch i own today. I had owned many other orients. But they are gone. The one watch i own an wear everyday is perfect for me. Its built just the same as those exspensive swiss watches. That what i love about the japanese. The only negative was the bracelet. It has a aluminum bezel which i prefer. Not every dive watch goes well with a ceramic. An aluminum ages perfectly with the watch . Ceramic probably will not. It has sapphire crystal. Which i really do not care if a watch has mineral or sapphire. I never had a problem with mineral. Orients movements are just as good as the rest. They may not be all dolled up an look pretty, but they last forever. The movement in this watch has some decoration. Orient undervalues their watches. By alot, their watches are high end just like the rest. They just need to fix their crown sizes, an make cases smaller. An they should go back to their older designs. But this orient star diver is perfect. I had a seiko turtle, it was pretty bad. The movement was bad. An the watch was not as good this orient star diver.
Love the Orient. Got one for my best friend a while ago, a Bambino v2 and man.. I was impressed by the look and the quality for its price. Unfortunately it’s too big for my wrist as I would love a Bambino in my collection. Thank you for your message, much appreciated.
Have you got one from Ali, from their shop? The ST1901 it’s manual winding. If you got a quartz version rather than the mechanical one, check if if you got it from the correct shop. If not, return it. I’m planning to get mine for Christmas.

I own a Daniel Wellington watch. I got it on sale for about $100 dollars. Back in 2015. I never regret buying it. I like the minimalist style. I wear it almost everyday at work or even running some eraands. I know it has a somehow cheap quarz movement. It's been almost 10 years and still looks new. There are many mechanical movements such as the TMI(Seiko) NH35 and citizens Myota 820 series that are repairable workhorses in watches that are lower priced than the Rising prices Of Quartz watches These lower priced mechanical watches are backed by giant corporations like Seiko and Citizens which allows them to bring the price down! Don't give up on mechanical watches for short lived Quartz watches!
Quartz watches under $100 are okay, I would say if you care about accuracy and how the watch looks. I do prefer mechanical watches, especially the Seiko ones.
Yes! Absolutely and there are still watches with Seiko and myota movements that hover around 100.00 including Orient and Seiko fives and other brands containing Citizens Myota and Seikos TMI,two of the biggest movement makers in the world and Yes A good quality Quartz watch is generally more accurate than a mechanical Watch
Okay, off to a rough start... The F-91W does not have a quartz movement. It is digital. Second, while the F-91W is iconic the A168 is widely accepted to be better because it has all the same features and a backlight that iactually works. Also why would you split off the AE1200 from the rest of the Casios? And also: no Timex? Also: I agree with the lighting comment. This isn't the type of content for moody / mysterious / dramatic lighting.
F-91W has a quartz movement, module 593 exactly. I don’t like the A168, so that why is not part of the list. Regarding to the AE1200 is too big for small wrists and didn’t wanted to make a TOP 15 with more than 5 Casios. Don’t get me wrong, Royale it’s a nice watch.. but too big. I added on the description on the video so people can see it. Timex, I consider it a fashion brand, Weekender or Expedition are kinda ugly for my taste and the quality you get for the price is kinda low. About lighting this is more on my taste.. check out the other videos and see that all of my videos have different kind of lights. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
@@vipnetworker You are a typical troll. You don't know anything about me, or my over 30 years in the tech sector. Now -- let me explain something. I looked at a teardown / restoration of an F-91W last night. Indeed it does have a crystal on the PCB. Which is surprising. In the mid-1980's many SoC's / microcontrollers moved the clock functions into the IC. This removed the latenccy issues encountered using external clocks, which improved accuracy, allowed higher efficiency, and simplified the manufacturing process which reduced costs. I am surprised they went with an older controller. Given that numerous sites list the F-91W, AW1200, and A158 as digital, an NOT quartz it wasn't unrezSonable to think that the IC had an internal clock. Alas, the video I watched showed that Casio put a big blob of hot glue on the IC - so I couldn't get the number for it. (I'd bet others have found it - but I'm not digging that far.)
