They look great! I have a set of carbon fiber wheels on my rim brake road bike with the same etched rims from Light Bicycle and the special compound pads. They stop very well. The pad compound is pretty soft so you will go through them much quicker than standard pads, but it's well worth the performance upgrade. Enjoy the new wheels!
I got a pair of Superteam all carbons like a year ago for $700 1400grams a pair 50mm deep. Love them. You should set them up tubeless or with some AliExpress TPU tubes. Significant weight savings and much better rolling resistance than the old rubber tubes.
Good question ! Assuming they don't self destruct, these cheapknockoff brand Chinese wheels will need frequent service and parts are almost impossible to get.
To increase the brake perf, I advice you to set up a Darkpads carbon wheel brakepad. They are designed to cool down faster the rim than a normal carbon rim brake pad, and have better brake performance. It's a French brand that makes Makadamm Wheel set as well. The thing about rim brake carbon wheels that scares me most is the heat build up and delamination potential on longer descents. Rim brakes work fine, but so do alloy wheels.

Put a set of elite wheels on my bike back in August. Biggest difference for me is how nice they roll. They replaced the original wheels that came on my 2011 Specialized Secteur. Put new tubes and tires on at the same time and trimmed 2.7 pounds off the bike weight. Braking performance is definitely a place they lack in comparison to the alloys they replaced.
Fascinating to see so many comments bemoaning Chinese wheels. But they do not drill into the carbon spec versus ‘western’ brands when they do, nor seem to realise that the ‘western’ brands are primarily middle men with the Chinese (Xiamen, I believe) factories that make ‘their’ wheels. Nobody in the mass market is moulding carbon in Europe or North America. My own carbon wheels are ‘western’ branded (bought in super discounted sales last year) but my next set will be direct from China unless I see a super special discount again! So this video is useful. Thanks. I also notice that Vel (the Sigma in house brand) seem to be discontinuing their wheels, given how few are now available on their website. My guess is that they have chosen not to try to compete with the direct from China market given that they are a ‘value’ brand. Of course, there will always be someone happy to pay £2k+ for a ‘high end’ wheel set just as some people are happy to pay £10+ for a ‘high end’ bike!

Yes they are if you get deep (50mm or up) ones! So much faster then shallow (amulinum) ones!
Those old wheels were budget Shimanos that were expected to be ditched by a discerning owner straight after purchase and kept for winter use and abuse. Nice free upgrade but properly built Mavic or DT Swiss rims would give a perfectly good improvement. Obviously the carbon Tech and tubeless tyres are now improved and optimised after a few years so they are a sound investment even if the Aero aspect is irrelevant for most cruising riders.

I had a shocking experience with Hunt 50mm carbon wheels on my Tarmac. Literally no brakes in the wet, despite having carbon specific brake blocks. Ended up selling the bike and getting disc brakes. Hope these are reliable and safe for you.
Those std alloy rims are heavy but far lighter are still available. I guess carbon is the in thing, not keen on big decals on rims. Nice enough wheels but I'll stick with my aluminum rim brake wheels.
Most people use the brakes too much on the road... a good rider learns how NOT to use the brakes, especially in a group. In a group the use of the brakes can cause problems, using the the natural wind resistance to slow is a skill.
I've got many sets of wheels and I honestly can't find much difference amongst them. I'll stick to the reliable aluminium wheels for superior braking. People are practically throwing aluminium rims out so I have a lifetime's supply. I suspect only racers can find any differences and I am long past my racing days.
I bought a budget set of DCR carbon wheels, same hubs and spokes as their alloy build, and despite being ever so slightly faster, they were so uncomfortable I went back to alloy.

For example, DT SWISS makes some great AL wheels and have bullet proof hubs, that even if they ever need service or repair, can be taken care of by any LBS. The wheels this reviewer put on his bike aren't worth the cost...and they're free 🤣

GP5000 aren't really anything special anymore. Lots of tires with similar rolling resistance and weight exist now. I say grab whatever you can get on sale at that level. GP5000s are pretty overpriced.

Superteam make great wheels - I would ALWAYS recommend their products and I run two sets of them myself - but What I will not recommend is carbon wheels for rim brakes. In the wet its terrible - even worse that normal rim brakes and over time the WHEEL wears out = there is not getting past replacing a WHOLE WHEEL. That is just plain ridiculous and any rim brake enjoyer would do well to avoid that, For disc brakes a wheel upgrade is a good idea (tho better tires is always more economical).
I don't know what the problem is with carbon wheels and rim brakes. I've been riding my Fast Forward in the Austrian Alps for at least 10 years. Everything still works like it did on the first day.

But it is a real risk. My father drove a car without seat belts, airbags, antilock brakes or snow tires, for 50 years and didn't diee, but that didn't make it safe or smart. He was just stubborn and a bit of a cheapskate. The same is true of rim brakes on carbon wheels...but rim brakes and cheap Chinese carbon wheels is just a whole new level of stupid.!!

I had to replace the bearings within a year (10.000km) and put some SKF bearing in them and they are better than the stock ceramic ones it seems. Carbon wheels are THE upgrade to any bike.
Those wheels aren't an upgrade at all unless you're riding at very high average speeds, it doesn't look like you are riding at the kind of speeds where they'll be any performance benefit.

Disappointing that you've decided to shill for a cheap Chinese wheel seller: you've just lost any credibility you might have had. These wheels aren't just junk copies of real brands, but they are dangerious and more landfill material. Even worse is the braking surface is borderline in the dry, but in even damp conditions, you'll have no brakes. You'll also have no warrenty and as bike shop mechanic you also know that getting replacement parts for those hubs is near impossible and the "ceramic" bearings will last a long as an English summer. Show some integrity and disavow your Chinese connection.

Everything is made in china. Geopolitics is complicated and I’d love for you to build a bike without a single,Chinese part. It’s going to take a long time and a lot of money.

@@danisagala1908 I could point you to the emergency ward where you'll find victems, of these crap wheels, but just look at what you get and the price. If its too good to be true, it probably is.
Just ask yourself, would this influencer have chosen these wheels unless they were free and he was paid to give a glowing review. He seems like a nice guy, so it's disabled he's selling out and offering advice that may be hazardous or at the very least, introduce a ton of headaches.
