Your music provides my mind with an escape. An entire world to float through when I feel like I'm clouded with the stresses of everyday life. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
State Azure there is only one good thing about the coronavirus, being confined at home I discovered this channel. Took me back to my childhood with the fathers of electronic music, JMJ, Isao Tomita, Vangelis, TD... You are talented, gifted... Greetings from Spain, un abrazo nice performance, I work like a champ with your music, I can concentrate and at the same time enjoy your tunes, at this moment I am reading a book from Robert Graves, Greek mitology, love Greece.. I could not read a book in a long time, but with your tunes I can.....
It is not too much. Not minimalist, but just right. I think minimalism is the illusion of much more, but here, each voice finds its own space. Very wonderful!
Love from a 76 year old big fan, I listen to you every night before I go to sleep, everything you do is so sublime, blessings to you!!!From the USA, California, LA by the beach
Love this. I was getting memories of Oxygene 3 with some of the effects at the beginning. Then I found it similar to Galaxie Cygnus A by Robert Schroeder in parts but also a lot of unique stuff too. Right up my alley. Brilliant
your home studio is amazing and your tracks are perfection, the mixing is really good and the mastering is perfect. I listen your tracks in my car on the way to my job all the day for inspiration...
Thanks for sharing. As always, thanks for your notes. I like these sonic tapestry compositions a lot and the videos and their pacing matches the soundings. As I shared before, my house and my studio burned down in a wild fire. I lost my studio. However, I am rebuilding my life and enjoy your music as a constant during this transition. I am already envisioning a more minimalist studio that can do the same thing as the other one. The minimalist studio is partly based on some of the compositions where you only used a portion of your studio, like the Novation Peak and the Ditto 4X and a delay/reverb unit (with a computer DAW).
Thanks, Raku777. Good luck with re-building. I like your idea of a minimalist studio/setup. You can do so much with just a couple of synths and a decent looper. I've been thinking of a little permanent setup on a different desk like that. Maybe a Minilogue XD + Wavestate, Digitakt, FX pedals and an Aeros Looper. Infinite ambient tracks from just a little setup like that.
@@stateazure Thanks for sharing. I was not aware of the Aeros Looper. This seems to have a lot of capability! It looks like it can even be a recording device.
Fabulous piece! I smiled when you mentioned that this was supposed to be a minimal track... hahaha glad you did it the way you did it. Descriptions are great, keep doing them!!
Great stuff, really calming sounds, but to look at it it looks like a pilot dropped his plate of spaghetti over the panel. Keep up the good work brother, thanks for sharing your works as always.
That was absolutely amazing. The build up of the song and some samples reminds me a lot of Ulrich Schnauss. Would you ever consider doing a remix (or your own take) of one of his songs, for example “Goodbye”?
I've been a big fan of Ulrich's ever since his first albums. Goodbye is one of my favourites of his tracks. Actually, check out my cover version of Tangerine Dreams' 'Dolphin Dance' and you'll see where I got the idea for the sequence in my version :) Saying that, Goodbye is a really tough track to cover well, In my opinion is pretty much perfect and there's really nothing I feel I can add to it. I wouldn't mind attempting one of his older tracks though.
The other comments have used all the Superlatives possible, all I can say is...SA I wish I had a gazillionth of your skill... a mighty track, many thanks again.
amazing journey .. really really hypnotic .. (just, as you mentioned, initial introducing of sidechain was a bit like "wtf, something is broken?" .. but after a while it was OK :) ... you got new subscriber by this performance, really really amazing !
Great Work! Have you perhaps done a tutorial on how to go step by step? I myself don't know how to create these organic looking compositions or how the devices create the music almost by themselves
I kind of did a quite basic one, look for the track 'Luminous' on my channel. It's a modular patch like this from scratch, much more basic of course. A patch as complex as this one takes me at least a few days usually.
If you had little burst of drum notes in the drum seq. it would have sounded just like TD with C.Franke composed it back in the day. This sounded really good this has the vibe I love about electronic music
Exactly what I’m looking to see and hear on TH-cam. Love the visuals, all those lights flickering. I’m reluctant to label music...if I want to search for similar soundscapes to listen to, who would you recommend?
I wrote a full gear list somewhere on my Facebook page. There's not all that much analog gear. Novation Peak, Sequential Pro 3. Quantum and Prophet 12 are hybrid analog/digital. There's a few analog eurorack modules.
Truely Inspiring, would love to buy some analog gear sometime. Currently using digital but i find the physicality and the sound of analog gear so much more impressive. Any recommendation for beginner / cheap-ish (£100-£300 range)?
I don't have all that much analog gear myself. I really like the Peak but it's out of your price range. If you can stretch it a little bit, The Korg Minilogue XD would be a good purchase.
Not sure if you’re mistaking analog and digital for hardware and software. But the Arturia Microfreak is a great synth to be he for 300 ish (thinks it’s lower actually) digital oscilators with analog filter and a great modulation matrix.
Sorry I missed the premiere Pat! Sounds awesome! Really appreciated the descriptions too. I assume you got rid of the digitakt for the octa? I still need percussion In my setup haha. Piano at the end to finish off was lovely too.
Cheers! I still have my Digitakt, not sure I'll sell it, I just have to find a way to start using it more often though. In some ways I still prefer the Digitakt for glitchy percussion, it's certainly faster to get results.
Low overcast clouds. The street outside is flooded at least half a meter high. The rain has stopped for the time being. Two men in windcheaters, hands in their pockets, stand in a doorway four meters above a building's entrance, wondering when -- not if -- the rain will start again. "Bloody hell," the first man says. "London's supposed to be wet, but *this* wet?" "Since when do you bleedin' care about the climate, Lou?" the second man asks. "Give you a Glock and a bottle of Cognac and you're usually happy." "The Glock's empty and so is the bottle," Lou says. "Look, Dom: If Central expects me to take down their targets, they'd bloody well better give me sufficient ammo next time." A hundred meters above them, a police cruiser hovers. A searchlight beam illuminates the two men. They might be scanning, or maybe not. "Piss off, copper," Lou mutters. "Keep it down," Dom whispers. "We aren't in their database yet, and I don't intend to be their next addition." The searchlight goes dark moments later, and the police cruiser leaves the area. As it does so, Dom's phone buzzes. He answers, "Dom here." He nods, then nods again, glances at Lou, then nods again. "Consider it done." "Change of plan?" Lou asks. "Central has a new job for us," Dom says. "Been down to the Underground since the last quake?" Lou nods. "Not much down there anymore. Mainly rusting Tube trains, rubble, rats, and decomposing bodies. What does Central want us to do, dig it out?" Dom shakes his head. "Fugitive on the run in one of the tunnels near Piccadilly. Armed and dangerous." Lou smiles. "That's more like it." "And an ammo drop on the stairs leading down to the Tube station," Dom adds. "Maybe there's a God after all," Lou says. "Let's get goin'. A happy Glock is a loaded one and I aim to make mine very happy." (I just improvised that while listening to the music. I have no idea where it'll go next. Feel free to add to it.)
If you could recommend a good starter synth for someone who has only ever done “in the box”, what would it be? I really want a prophet but was considering the Korg Wavestate.
It really depends what you want out of it. The Wavestate is amazing, but it's not fun to program, and you'll be studying it for a long time, as it is very complicated and definitely not your standard kind of synth. Something like the Minilogue is a nice starter synth, though in comparison it's very basic, but nice sounding and easy to learn/program
@@stateazure thank you. I don’t think a complicated synth would lend well to workflow and might be a turn off for me. I’ll look into the minilogue. That’s by Korg I just found out. I would love to have a Juno also . That’s a simple one isn’t it?
Really appreciate the text cues telling us what you're doing
