The thing you said with Marinette wearing the pigtails because of Soqueline is canon! She wears them as a thanking for protecting her all these years. This episode was awesome, and it explains alot of things.Poor Marinette.☹️
I mean, can you blame him? Kim could've gotten Marinette killed with that prank of his. What sane person wouldn't go mad if they found out someone they knew could've caused the person they love to nearly get killed? (I am not defending him from nearly using his cataclysm on Kim, but his anger is definitely justified.)
Rewatching the series after this episodes, we finally understand why it was Marinette acted the way she did: obsessing over knowing everything about Adrien, making crazy plans, being unable to talk to Adrien and confessing she loved him etc. Of course, this does not excuse nor justify the things Marinette did, it simply informs us why she did what she did and how even she learned over time that her solution was not the best course of action as the results led to consequences she would later need to apologize and make amends for, little by little , she realized that what she was doing was wrong and learned to give it up. It also explains why she didn’t act the same way towards Luka, cause unlike Adrien, Luka had no connection to Chloe and was already known to be a good person, including by his sister Juleka, Marinette’s friend, who likely vouched for him when Marinette showed interest in dating him.
Derision means "to regard with mockery" and that concept clearly became the episode, as we got to see the dark side to Kim's goofy personality, how much Chloé bullied and humilliated Marinette and how the mix of Dark Humor's power with Uproar (the Monkey Miraculous superpower) caused people to mock others.
There's something you should know about this episode, where Marinette fell from it's common in certain pools like the one she was in to have those. More importantly that's about 30 to 50 feet high off the ground and the way she fell can actually paralyze or kill someone. So yeah Chloe went to far and nearly actually harmed and attacked her.
Also yeah, Mari keeps Soqueline's (Dunno how to say that) hairstyle to remember her. The miraculous cards revealed that along with some other infos for some other characters
Maybe if Ladybug recovers the Butterfly Miraculous (from future "Hawk Moth", as we know the Miraculous will still be used for evil) Socqueline will become a butterfly superhero. Unless she gets another Miraculous meanwhile.
After watching this episode, I have some comments. One, I believe Chole is beyond redemption. She's in the same boat as Lila, Felix, Bob Ross, and Monarch. Two, The main reason why Marinette is afraid to express her love to Adrian since season 1 is because of Chole. like Lila, Chole made her life miserable. I have some theories going forward based on the events that happened in this episode: (I haven't watched any future episode yet) • 1st Theory Since Adrian has broken ties with Chole completely, I think Sabrina will follow suit. After what Adrian said about Chole, Sabrina had a realization, like ' Yeah Adrian's right. I can't take more of Chole's disrespectful behavior, ill stop being friends with her too ' • 2nd Theory: If my 1st theory is true, then the only friend Chole will have is Lila. Who in fact already has a great relationship with Chole, will try to manipulate her into doing her dirty deeds and bring her deeper into evil, which could be helpful for Monarch. • 3rd Theory: After Adrian cut ties with Chole, I think she'll go after Adrian and make his life miserable like she did to Marinette. ( I wonder how that'll turn out lol ). Since Lila has her sights on Marinette and she has a personal vendetta against her, Chloe have the same feelings towards Adrian. Let me know if you agree with my theories!
I've read complaints on Tumblr about this episode, from people annoyed that we're just learning about Marinette's past trauma. They argue that it would have explained so much about her obsessive behavior if we had this information upfront. But IRL you don't always have immediate access to everyone's Tragic Backstory(TM). All you see are the maladaptive behaviors developed in response to a maladaptive situation. It's only later, if we're lucky, that we find out what someone else's deal is. When and if we do, it can change our entire perspective, potentially explaining (if not entirely excusing) the dumb and mean things they do. That goes not just for Marinette, but also Kim and Chloe. Besides, laying all this material out in the beginning would quite simply be bad storytelling. If we knew everything about Marinette's issues in Season 1, would we still be interested in Season 5?
Here is the other eng dub date btw: Ep15 Intution (May 30) and Ep17 Adoration (June 1) Just so that you can pretty much catch up to ep16 and 18 since those two already come out but not in order
I thought Chloe could change but after she betrayed Ladybug, I was proven wrong and after seeing this, I now know that I was wrong. Chloe will still be an unhinged, spoiled brat she always is then and now. She is not worthy of being a miraculous holder, she's just as bad as Monarch.
Chloe finally dragged to the side of evil, well. But once this character was so interesting. Thanks for the reaction Billy, there will be a little hiatus next. 515 will be released on June 17, and 516 is already available in English dub.
Chloe is still interesting ! She is interesting EVIL character (just because she was good for couple of episodes doesnt change her character. People should learn that not everybody is good and not everybody can change ) And Chloe is a perfect exaple of this and I love it.
Ep15 is already out btw dude but i guess maybe you could also wait another 8 hours first tho or something since ep17 will be airing in english dub so i guess you could 4 ep in a row or something like Ep15,16,17 then ep18 Ep19 and 20 only have french and brazil dub for now.
This episode literally feels like it was made just so Thomas can yell "she's not getting reedemed". I do feel sorry for Marinette but not entirely because of the execution of all of this. And the info from last seasons. Mylene's line is kinda- like yes your mon left but not everyone will act like you. I'm not justifying Chloe's actions but just sayin' here Mylene. Kim used to be one of the best bois but now I wish he was just gone. Why does Chloe get all the shit from the writers for 0 reasons but Kim gets forgiven easliy? Or why is he an ass out of nowhere? Why wasn't he an ass in all previous episodes? You can't tell me he's this dumb... But then again he called Chloe the prettiest infront of his gf so I wouldn't be that suprised if he was. Also wtf with that break up at the end? They already stopped being friends. Chloe even cried. She even did worse things than here in Derision. Specifically, giving into the akuma in Miracle Queen. She was helping Hawkie win. Adrien and her were already done in Queen Banana WHY ARE THEY DONE AGAIN...
Seems that the writers just decided to completly ruin Chloe and make her the worst, despite giving her a chance to change, back in season 2. In my opinion, the people who say it's all because of her mother are wrong, as she really could change if she wanted to and she was given a second chance. however, what I liked is that we finally get some Marinette's backstory, what a torture she had gone through, and get an actual explanation why she had such an obsession with Adrien. Also loving Adrien being overprotective of Marinette. Just so you know (I don't really think it's a spoiler as it's common knowledge), the next episode is "Intuition" which is the power of the snake.
The thing you said with Marinette wearing the pigtails because of Soqueline is canon! She wears them as a thanking for protecting her all these years. This episode was awesome, and it explains alot of things.Poor Marinette.☹️
Wait what that’s a really cool detail!
Aw
And the fact that she has the same hair style when she's Ladybug makes it all the more wholesome
The way Adrien got angry for Marinette's sake actually struck a reminder that he is definitely Gabriel's son and not in a good way. 😮
Yeah the Agrestes are quite "Agrestive" when it comes to the woman they love. (That's not funny but I can't help myself lmao)

I truly think we needed that backstory on Marinette's character and I really like that the show tackles more serious topics now as well 🙏🏼
Derision means "to regard with mockery" and that concept clearly became the episode, as we got to see the dark side to Kim's goofy personality, how much Chloé bullied and humilliated Marinette and how the mix of Dark Humor's power with Uproar (the Monkey Miraculous superpower) caused people to mock others.
I see you in the comment section of almost every Miraculous reaction video, and your comments are always so insightful! You are a dedicated fan :)
Did you see Sabrina hiding when Adrien confronted Chloe? that's classic foreshadowing
Any one realise the voice acting in this episode sounds like everyone's matured a little?
Well it's been going on for 8 years
And then you have episodes like "Perfection", where their voices sound even smaller and squeakier.
There's something you should know about this episode, where Marinette fell from it's common in certain pools like the one she was in to have those.

She cross the line with Cockroaches 😠😠😠
Zoe mention that happens to her when she was living in New York.
The same thing happened to a friend of mine.
Also yeah, Mari keeps Soqueline's (Dunno how to say that) hairstyle to remember her. The miraculous cards revealed that along with some other infos for some other characters
Socqueilne is a hero she deserves a miraculous
Maybe if Ladybug recovers the Butterfly Miraculous (from future "Hawk Moth", as we know the Miraculous will still be used for evil) Socqueline will become a butterfly superhero. Unless she gets another Miraculous meanwhile.
True too bad there are no more left

I feel like not watching this episode again for how Marinette got mistreated in her past 😢and Adrien really got angry about it.
Derision is the use of Ridicule or scorn to show contempt.
Chloe finally dragged to the side of evil, well. But once this character was so interesting. Thanks for the reaction Billy, there will be a little hiatus next. 515 will be released on June 17, and 516 is already available in English dub.

wasnt expecting this today but it was a very good surprise
Sooner or later, Sabrina will never be friend of Chloe.
Can't really blame her, it is amazing that Chloe finds new ways to disgust me
With great power, comes great responsibility
Thanks Spiderman
With this episode, Im shocked Marinette didnt explode against Chloe in Season 3 4:26

Chloe’s a absolute jerk! Like she needs to be exacted like lots of torcher stuff!!!

And here I thought I wouldn't hate Chloe more but then I watched this episode and yeah I absolutely HATE Chloe.
Damn, this episode made me hate Chloe so much, i still can't tell if she is more annyoing than Dareth but Chloe is probably more annoying by a lil bit
Amazing miraculous episode billly
Kim, better hope alya doesn’t find out or else he dead

adrien❤💛❤
Been waiting! Keep uploading please :D
They really did Chloe dirty. The second that Chlor even had a chance at redemption, the creators decided to throw it into a dumpster fire
Hi Billy, i was wondering… where do you watch the season 5 episodes???
I haven’t been able to watch them anywhere 😢
Wow
