It looks like organists in Europe are mostly expected to improve the base line in the hymns as well as sing!

Joe, you didn’t tell them about advanced mode! All of this while directing choir loft traffic and carrying on two different conversations!

Thank you, Joe …… this was soooo interesting and motivating, that I feel truly inspired to work harder on my limited improvisational skills. Anytime you wish to do another video in the future, with more improvisation tips, I’m sure there are many of us who would love it. If you could possibly give the name again, of the book you suggested, that would be great, too! Thanks again, Joe! 👍. You da BEST!!!

Thanks kiddo! Happy to make these videos! That book is 200 Last Verses by Noel Rawsthorne. Fantastic book to give lots of ideas. Thanks so much for watching!

Is the 16 foot contre oboe on the swell, listed in the stop list, a separate rank, from the 8 foot oboe? Or an extension of the oboe?

Hi there. The Swell 16’ Oboe is a digital rank along with the Great 5 rank Mixture and the 32’ Pedal Trombone. In 2013 we tried to come up with space to install the 12 pipes for the pedal 32’ reed but it is so simply jam packed in there. We really tried to go that way but simply couldn’t.
