    Quite braindead thread with the thoughts that 1 of them is a cheater and the other 2 not has tested yet. So what material to discous ?

    • @RobertMitchell
      @RobertMitchell  4 ปีที่แล้ว +78

      only braindead if you are. the ssc may have cheated as you say but what can the car do? the other 2 have not yet tested but what is your educated guess as to what they can do? I think that its only braindead if you have no ability to think deeper than ''what has already been done'' it takes intelligence to make an opinion on what can happen based on factors and data presented.

    • @mattiasandersson3444

      @@RobertMitchell I apologize !! "braindead" was wrong word. Meaningsless is better...I`m almost sure that is gonna be dicousions about 3 third parties verifiing and the 3:rd parties independce to the actual carcompany. Koenigsegg is model there with 4 gps transmitters and a roadpatrol with laserpistol.I think even whre the place were all 3 recordattempt take place i also thnks gonna become a subjekt for discoussion. Ehra -lessien are the most advantageous i think No crosswinds and 8.4 km straight wide road. But as Swedish citizen of course i hope that Koenigsegg takes it. So far they have been most advantageus and developed their cars fastest with best results.

    My favourite will have to be the Chiron. I firmly believe that in that car you sit really comfortably and do top speed runs without breaking a sweat whilst in the other three everything would be shaking and vibrating. I just have this feeling that the Chiron is put together alot nicer then the others. Feel free to correct me if you think i am talking smack. Bugatti has been the trend setter for these hypercars ever since the Veyron came out. The ultimate all rounders imo.

    You're right Robert you learn more from track time in the rain (and snow) than riding in dry weather. Inputs have be smoother in rain which makes for better car balance which in turn will translate to faster speed in the dry. Also loss of control are normally less tragic as you have less speed to shed. With the exception of keeping our windows opened (requirement at most tracks here) and standing water I love track time in the rain.

    The e30 will be amazing for sure and I agree with making it more street worthy. What's my favorite? Miura SV (however I'll never be able to own one.) I have had a couple 325is e30s and I've actually been missing how fun they were. Any air cooled 911 would be fun as well, not sure how well they do when pushed hard on the ring though.

    I drive to the ring 1 or 2 times every year and do a few laps. On the subject of the wet line, it struck me that some, even experienced, drivers do not believe in the wet line and claim that this would be more of a myth, how can that be and what do you think of it?

    That's a great idea Robert, that's exactly what I would do with an e30. In my opinion there's no point in trying to turn a 30 year old classic into a competitive track car. I'd make in into the most liveable, fancy and involving car I could.

Seeing as the E30's were pretty spartan cars to say the least, there are plenty of oppertunities to evolve the car without corrupting it :D The Singer formula resonates with so many people, and understandably so! I believe the E30 would be a good choice for a treatment like that, it's on the edge though, I would never do it to an e36 but the E21 and E28 althought older, just don't quite have what the E30 has.

    I think the fact that the Jesko is crash tested and homologated worldwide, including US, puts it in a category of its own (Or, actually, in the Bugatti category). If inclined, you could use it as your daily driver in California. I think that would be impossible in the F5 or Tuatara.

    For top speed, 1 factor is overlooked but really important. High speed stability can be really a blocker, even if they have the power. 500kph+ is no joke. They can try, but they might need to lift off early because the car is not stable enough. (Like SSC admittedly lifted off because of stability issues, but they might have also thought they have the record and it is an easy choice)
    Koenigsegg definitely has some advantage here, because they have experience and proven record of high speed stability.

    • @juzoli
      @juzoli 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Andrew Foster Wind is part of stability. Put a huge wing on it, and it will be stable, regardless of wind, but at the cost of top speed.
