- This video is about the Claas 8900 and it's the "Directors Cut".
Alot of my subscribers say they love the big flowing scenes and the music that goes underneath all the action on screen, but could i include some machinery noise sometimes.
So when i made this video i wanted to get it online quickly and make it look as seamless as possible to thank Claas Eastern and M H Poskitt Ltd a customer of mine for allowing me to film the day.
But i also had lots of unused footage that contains the big harvesters engine noise and the combine threshing noises and the header flying round whirring away.
So as requested i have used lots of this unseen footage to get my subscribers what they want.
At the start you'll see footage shot on my iPhone and again at the end of the video where the big Claas 8900 is taking the 13.80 meter / 45 foot header off and placing it on the specially built extra long header trailer.
In between theirs lots of new angle close ups of that massive header working and new flying drone shots of the combine running empty to another area to finish off a block and turning into the camera lens.
For the new season i've got a DJI Osmo Action to capture more sound and close ups.
Also the music is a bit special because it was made by a longtime college friend of mine who actually owns and drives his own Claas combine!!! Now that can't happen very often.

Nice shots, and finally an operator that doesn't beat the snot out of the wheat with the reel.
I was about to say the same thing,,,, I can’t tell you how many videos on here where I’ve seen the reel all the way down,,,, great film but I still wouldn’t be caught dead in one of those machines! Long live Deere 👍🏼

Thanks Jomo, the X9 was moving at around 10mph from memory and I had to be careful when flying backwards while filming because he kept catching me up😀.
If you liked the X9 video try my Claas 8900 videos and you should enjoy those as well because both are brilliant combines and the T9 Massey Ferguson did well on the red hot day I filmed that.

I have been off the farm for a long time. How do they handle the gap between the reels on these double reel headers? Do they just ignore it as it is centered on the feeder house?
For sure a none issue. Gap not too wide, and the draper's center belt feeds the feeder house, so the crop is moving straight back.
@UCyHmXRUFCyRpXDE1P1FL6mQ While it may not be a true Drapper header, it is not an old style auger header either. IF you watch closely when they turn or show an edge view you can see the belt moving and that the thing that appears to be auger like is not rotating(stationary).
@@bradquinn4161 Yeah, some drapers also have an auger, but have never seen them not moving. Think they help to feed crops like rape seed.
@@ANDYOLDRIDGEFARMINGVIDEOS Guys, just as a explanation of my last post. It was in reply to someone who claimed that it was not a Drapper header at all. It seems to have been deleted since then. Unless I am misunderstanding, a Drapper header is essentially just an old windrower header with a little added assist to feed the feeder house.

I love big Boris, too. I'm English in heritage. GB has done more to make our world civilized than any other nation on earth. Remember, the sun never sets on English soil or at least it didn't used to.
