Georgia already requires a gun purchaser to be 21 and an owner to be 18. The gun(s) the 14 year old used were illegal as soon as the father handed the gun(s) over to his son. No further laws would have prevented this tragedy. What would have prevented it was a mother and father who knew how to be good parents. The government is great at making it economically less desirable to have a home where the children have both parents under the same roof. Can they undo all the poison pill laws they passed?

People get mad when you mention gun control and laws but the reality is there are too many irresponsible gun owners out there and mass shootings are a regular occurance. I just don't understand why people are so against gun control laws. We are living in a different time compared to when "gun rights" were written and we need to change with the times and be selfless. People will find a way to commit violence sure but guns are too efficient. Sandy hook was one of the deadliest school shootings and that shooter fired 154 rounds in less than 5 minutes, hitting 26 people. Guess what, I bet the average police response time is more than 5 minutes.

There are guidance counselors that should have on record these “school visits” or some kind of sign-in roster, if the bullying was that traumatic for the offender and reported. Well not to be insensitive but if a child is struggling, this Dad should never have given him a weapon, a therapist would have been best option, even if this Dad had to go through a few to get the right one at least you were taking action in a better ways to cope with difficult situations. 372 people in Chicago alone have been murdered so far in 2024. 372.
My point isn’t to minimize what this boy did in the school. He and his father should be able to accountable to the fullest extent of the law. But pretending like this is actually about protecting children and saving lives is laughably absurd. This is about political capital. None of these people give a flying fk about the kids who were actually killed. Because if they did, they would talk about what happens in Chicago.
    in Philadelphia
    And New York
    And Los Angeles
    And Seattle
    In Houston.
    In Miami.
    And Portland.
    And San Francisco.
But the problem is all those places are run by democrats. So it’s almost like they don’t even exist. It’s so absurd.
