The figure looks good but I’m frankly still disappointed that he is still missing a paint detail on the helmet. The 2 triangles pointing left and right. I don’t understand how details like this get missed by Hasbro so consistently when they have unlimited access to any and all reference material.
There’s a lot wrong with this figure outside of paint too; jetpack and pauldron sculpts are reuses from the DW airborne mando, and pretty inaccurate to the AOTC costume. If they want to charge this kind of money for a figure, it better have all of the correct details; they only have 22+ years of reference material to work from. Sad part is that they DID put in that kind of effort for Tatooine boba; he has new tooling for his legs, jetpack, belt, left gauntlet, jetpack, and jetpack missile; all completely new compared to the similar Morak boba. They CAN put in that effort. We’ve seen it before in this line. But they just really cheaped out here.

Just got mine today, def didnt need to be a deluxe figure since the little wax packet for the accessories wasnt even inside the cardboard piece the figure is attached to, it was simply tucked in between that and the outer packaging which leaves a huge waste of space. I also found the helmet was extremely difficult to get on the balljoint and was worried I was going to break something, doesnt feel very smooth when turning it left and right either, never had this issue with any other figure with a swappable helmet. Def agree with you on the holsters being too large too, definitely didnt need to be that size with how thin the blasters are, past figures had much more accurately sized ones, though they were usually molded directly onto the thigh. The figure looks great overall and im glad to finally have a proper Jango, but the price/deluxe tag is completely un-needed and the helmet should not be as difficult to put on as it is.
Theres alot of complaints about it being 'Deluxe' let me add some more lol. Those pistols should have SILVER painted details! His headsculpt well it should actually be an all new sculpt with scars in the mold not painted over like a tattoo.
I like the boxed design for when we actually get DELUXE figures, Stormtrooper with E Web cannon for example. This would have been fine in mainline packaging but I suspect Hasbro don't feel comfortable charging deluxe prices if the item takes up the same space on a shelf as a basic figure.
Hasbro should have included the BOBF Boba Fett's jet pack, but painted to look like Jango's jet pack on Kamino. It would have the same removable missile and would have mad the "deluxe" pricing feel more reasonable. Also a grapple hook accessory for his right gauntlet. Well I guess I'll just repaint a jet pack for mine when it comes in.
The bobf jetpack is a bit different to jango’s kamino jetpack; it has additional armor on the fuel tanks, different fuel tank caps, a big weld scar, and the missile tube is different. Might want to make an ROTJ boba’s jetpack missile detachable instead; that model is near identical to the kamino jetpack.
Aye, they already made the correct sculpt with ROTJ boba a few years ago, and that sculpt is near-perfect. The one this comes with is not even the correct sculpt of jango’s JT-12C. This is the JT-12 from the death watch mando.
Tim...I really appreciate how honest and direct you are in discussing SWTVC topics. If there is an issue, you discuss it. Kudos man. Probably why your channel is getting up there in terms of subscribers. The Jango fett we got way back still beats the deluxe figure out of the park. Got more accessories and that card back is so so glorious. Not sure who at Hasbro is deciding on these releases.. Just went to my local Walmart the other day, most of the peg warmers were deluxe figures. Sad really.
Hey there, I have a question. Do you think they will end up making vintage collection clone wars b1 and super battle droids. I know they had them before but they should rerelease.
Kenner-Hasbro-DISNEY fooled me with the deluxe Darktrooper. Fool me once it is on you. Fool me twice it's on me. Won't be buying. Carded figures only for me.
He just comes with the one Jetpack… I wonder if any of the Kamino jet packs from old figures work with this figure.. Meh, we have to speak with our wallets.. hasbro is trying to create a new, low standard for what qualifies as ✨ D E L U X E✨
2021 ROTJ boba’s jetpack is almost perfect; could use a paint touch-up, but the sculpt is dead-on. Better than the one he comes with too; which is a reused death watch mando jetpack. Not the same as jango’s geonosis one. They’re similar at a glance, but very different sculpt-wise
Thank you, i was planning on swapping the jetpacks out myself since i’ll have an extra ROTJ boba one from making my ESB boba one. The morak boba’s pack is almost dead-on to boba’s ESB jetpack since it lacks the weld scar; some weathering and a blackwash will help achieve the ESB look
Agreed. The torso is a straight reuse from the DW airborne mando, they didn’t even give him the right pauldrons. For a deluxe release they should do better.
He's literally the greatest Bounty Hunter of all time. He should have been 100% spot on for a 'Deluxe'. Should have tons of accessories! And this character has ALOT of weapons and gear! Come on Hasbro...
He’s also arguably the most important mandalorian in the franchise, what with him being the template for a clone army that effectively overthrew an entire government with how it was implemented. In the republic commando novels, kal skirata mused about how order 66 was basically jango’s posthumous revenge, not only for his own death but for those of the mando clans he led. This guy is not some side character that gets two seconds of screentime. His face is everywhere. And they treat him like he’s some nameless goober.
I know I'm probably in the minority but I absolutely despise swappable heads. It should have been a removable helmet like they did with the "deluxe" BoBF Boba Fett. It has nothing to do with having to make the helmet bigger to accommodate for the sculpted hair because I put a clone head with hair on the new ROTJ VC Boba body and the BoBF deluxe helmet fits perfectly and looks great.
I agree with you that this is way overpriced for what it is. It is a nice figure though. I will be in the minority then when I say that I do like the deluxe boxes - it reminds me of the 3 packs back in the day - but if they were to cut out the cardboard on the front to put the figure in a visible plastic bubble then it would be even better.
It's a great looking figure, but boy, it's never a duluxe figure. This should have been a carded figure. I've still pre ordered him as I do not have the TVC 1.0 release.
After years and years and years. They have finally made a Fett helmet that's the correct size in proportion to the body. ROTJ Boba Fett and older Boba Fett did this too. So stoked Jango is back! Finally! Shame about the holsters!
This *reaalllyy* should not have been deluxe. The shoulder pads and the jetpack are still the wrong sculpts; shoulder pads should not have that inward bend on the edge; that’s a clone wars mando thing. The jetpack is reused from the Death Watch mando; the sculpt is pretty different from the JT-12C jango owns. The black series at least got that right, but they decided to be shortsighted here and not produce the proper jetpack, even though they could’ve used it for cheap jet trooper repaints to cash in on the battlefront resurgence. If you want a truly accurate jango, you’ll need to get a jetpack from one of the older releases or a print, and do new shoulder pads without the inward curve on the edges. Can probably cannibalize a TAC civvie jango for the holsters/codpiece/jetpack.
Tim! A number of questions about reuse: Have we seen any of these armor pieces before? Does he share body parts with any of the previous Mandos, or the upcoming Fleet Commander? Is his jet pack the same standard issue male Mando jetpack, like we've seen with Axe, the Airborne Trooper, or the Death Watch Mando? And is that flame effect the same fire accessory we got with Shae Visla? It looks like a great figure, but I think it's total BS we don't get his poncho with the deluxe price and packaging.
Thick walls on soft plastic pieces is a cost-saving measure, same as the new Imperial caps. There's absolutely nothing about this that justifies the price, it has no more paint apps than a regular figure and the fact that they're actively trying to save money at the expense of the figure's aesthetics is kinda the opposite of what they should be doing with premium collector pieces. In other words, I'm definitely waiting for clearance on this one
@@etheangel2220 Plastic costs so little as to be a virtually nonexistent concern for Hasbro, even with large figures. On any given figure the paint apps will have cost more than the plastic required to make it. A TVC figure and a Black Series figure cost about the same to produce, because the real costs are tooling, assembly and paint. Which is why Hasbro hates TVC compared to TBS, because TBS retails for twice the price despite costing about the same to make (and the fact that most TBS ends up on deep clearance is not a pressing concern for a company focussed on short-term profit). As I understand it the thing with very thin walls on soft plastic parts is a factory concern, and many factories outright refuse to do it - not sure the specific reason for that, but it's what I've heard from people in the industry. So finding a factory that will is more expensive for Hasbro. But it's why they could give us Imperial caps that fit perfectly with Captain Needa in 2009, and now in this advanced age of hyper-articulation and photoreal likenesses Admiral Piett has to look like he's smuggling something under there
Great video Tim. Pretty absurdly large holsters, what an odd design decision. Maybe if they had included a cloak it might have seemed a bit more deluxe… but not much 😂
Hey Bossk, can the belt be ridden upward? The torso is all wrong. There shouldn't be a gap between the armored vest and the belt. But if the belt can ride up, maybe it can be mended.
Love your work bossk, but i’m sorry that i can’t help but be a downer on this release. He’s the first new jango in over a decade, but he’s got a lot of inaccurate details that they shouldn’t have cut corners on, especially for a deluxe release. Reused flame effects are not worthy of a big increase in price here.
Valid nitpicks don’t take away from the fact that this is still a superb looking figure. If “Deluxe” expression means we get more figures each year I’m there for it - just lose the boxes and get a bigger bubble or a foil variant race-track to distinguish from regular figures
Hey BB, do you think we will get a phase 1 officer troop builder pack, carded multipack, or not at all? If they’re going to do a carded 4 pack of phase 1 clone officers I would much rather it be named clones like Rex, Cody, Wolfe, Fox, etc. Thanks!
Coming in at $33.74 after tax/shipping on Pulse, buying this figure feels like a full on financial decision rather than a hobby pick up 🙁 I’m still wringing my hands…
For the price there should be NOTHING wrong with it. Looking at those saddle bags, and the omission of any real extra accessories (flame effects don’t count, I’m not even going to use them) plus the missing triangles on the helmet are another nit pick.
Bossk, I know you solicited opinions about this, but I'll just chime in after the fact and say that I believe, for what it's worth, which isn't much, that you should use the all-white background for your figure reviews. As much as I love seeing glimpses of your personal collection, I think it makes more sense to spotlight just the figure during these reviews and keep our focus on that. At least during the "Hero shots" close to the wrap-up that, in this case, start at 8:27. Would be great just to see the figure itself without any visual distraction. That said, I'll always watch and appreciate your terrifically thorough and insightful reviews!
Should have included his alternate backpack. It's not like they couldn't have used the Morak Boba Fett backpack on this and it appears to use the same peg system.
I think @hasbro for £24.99 the paint job on the armour helmet should be better and the details on the holsters and the blasters should be sharper and painted better please? Plus should there be more accessories @hasbropulse?
It is just a mishmash of Jango appearances that leave inaccurate completely. -missing 2 triangles between black lines on helmet -has geonosis jetpack but with kamino helmet/no dent -doesn’t have kamino jetpack -proportions are not accurate to Tem at all.
Those holsters look AWFUL. I just got my singles of Count Dooku and the P1 Clone from Amazon this morning and I have a full case of each on their way, which I decided to do as the only NEW Prequel figures we've gotten in TVC 2.0. I probably would've done the same with Jango to replace every Jango figure I have if he was a regular release (and 1 carded), but as a Deluxe, I'm only getting one. I am sick of these deluxe boxes. Also also, he's deluxe but they couldn't even have a firing missile like Tatooine Boba?
The holsters look worse than the ones from almost 20 years ago too; 2007 had a civvie clothes jango that had holsters that look MUCH better. Also the gap in quality between this and tattooine boba is almost comically big; for that boba they did new tooling for both legs, belt, the jetpack, the missile, AND his left forearm for the sake of accuracy. This figure only got new thighs, left forearm, and a very bad belt. They really cheaped out, didn’t even do new tooling for the shoulder pads or jetpack, which are supposed to be unique. They cut so many corners that they now have an edgeless safety square, otherwise known as a circle. They even put this in a plastic-free deluxe box and put a bigger price tag on it, saving money on all of those plastic trays and bubbles.
@@valettashepard909The fact that the holsters and gauntlet, which are almost the only new pieces in this whole box, both look completely terrible, is a travesty. This figure is a mess.
Aye. It makes me really sad; jango’s one of my absolute favorite characters in this franchise, so seeing him done poorly on the first new figure we’ve gotten in over a decade really bites. And knowing hasbro, whose folks seemed genuinely surprised about people wanting a new jango in the first place, probably won’t fix these errors for at least another decade. It’s depressing.
Looks like we’re back to the UK getting figures way before the U.S. I wish this wasn’t in a deluxe box. I don’t have the original release, so hope they follow up with a carded version
Nice review Tim. It's a great figure, but he should've been a main line release. To be a deluxe figure, he should've come with both of his jet packs and the headset he wears in Slave One.
@@nightdriver I buy 2 if I like em enough, sure are sensitive about any negativity towards Hasbro but I assume you’re a child still leaving lol on comments
Agree with other commentators, this really needs to be carded, even if they still need to add a deluxe price point. Pretty sure Mr Stevie has picked this up from interviews I've seen him do. Mine is due in post tomorrow, good old SAF, but I'm expecting a carded version in the next year or two. Thank you for the opener vid though. Top job as always 👌
This is my first look at this..I agree with you on all aspects on the figure..maybe the holsters are bigger to counter weight the figure when you use the flame..and yes it NOT a dx figure..I might grab one if or when it goes down in price...cheers Tim🍺🍺🍻
Its a good figure, but its just waisted, both jetpacks, the poncho, the Slave 1 headset or even the jar of "space slugs" he gives to Zam wouldve been apreciated. I would have to replace the holsters with maybe the 30th Anniversary version cause they do not look right, great vid as always mate 👍👌👌
I’ll probably end up buying it, but Jesus for the price there shouldn’t be that many inaccuracies and we should get both jetpacks and a alternative dented helmet. But I don’t think we will get better for a long time since they seem to be focusing on new era figures. We still haven’t got a new sculpt ESB Boba.
Thanks for the review. Even though I've bought all my deluxe figures (not all that many) only after they went on deep discount, I think I'll skip this one even after the inevitable price drop. There's just not enough that's new or special or interesting enough to justify the purchase. The older Jango I have is almost as good.
Great looking figure I will say the helmet looks good but like said the missing stuff is annoying but I think the look overall looks better than most previous like I never personally like the skinny helmet and it seemed a lot of the old ones had it
Bossk has a figure before everyone else again... balance has been restored. They're surely going to re-release him on a card without the oversized wrist gaunlet & fire effects at some point. Maybe even in a two-pack with Windu or a young Boba.
Thanks for the review as always. Despite looking pretty good at first glance and maybe from afar, I don’t believe he is worth the deluxe price so I’m not buying it at the current price. There are characters including more accessories that expand on posability that replicate different scenes or shots and they’re at standard MSRP. Both Dooku and DT/DS2 Vader are great examples of figures that could have been deluxe but are not. Everything I see here could have fit into a standard TVC bubble with the flame effects behind the figure in a separate tray and the rest packed like most Mandalorians like Pre Vizsla. And yes, the holsters are ridiculously large considering they’re quite standard in the film. The missing triangles are the least of my concerns as sculpt accuracy should be an even greater priority.
does anyone think they will remaster the figure? on card, perhaps with the other jetpack, and potentially modified holsters, although I'm not really bothered.
Not sure if they'll change the holsters but I think they will release him on card without the oversized wrist gauntlet & fire effects. Maybe in a two-pack...
given the missing paint app on the helmet, i think there's a good chance they'll want a second release to make it up to us. they'll probably leave out some of the accessories though. i'd guess no alternate unhelmeted head and no fireball. anyone's guess if it comes with the other jetpack instead or not. i'd guess not.
I just got mine and Holy cow its actually a ball dropped. The helmet is way too tight for the peg and i am not able to take it off anymore and his stomach joint is so loose it almost falls under the weight of the flame. I am slowly giving up on collecting figures.
He looks pretty good don’t agree with the deluxe price though (he should have come with a bit more if they wanted to charge deluxe price). It’s easy to change out his blasters i’ll just give him my Evolution Jango Fett blasters. The helmet is still not 100% accurate the two black bands are correct but in the center between them there are 2 small triangles. They are small so maybe I am not seeing them. They are barely noticeable on the ROTJ TVC Boba figure.
This would have been a standard $10 figure just a few years ago. Also, they really need to use a Black Series style window box for these non-deluxe "deluxe" figures. Carded would be preferred, but this sealed box nonsense needs to end.
The body proportions are way off! Seriously, look at the source material. Jango’s belt should come up to his abdominal armor. This figure makes Jango look like he’s 5 inches taller than he should be! The designers gave us a Mandalorian in Jango’s armor, but they did not give us Jango in Jango’s armor. Remedial work by the Hasbro sculptor.
Oh man you got it already you lucky dog you lol I have two of them ordered from Game Stop can't wait to get mine great video brother and good for you you always get them first
Nice figure, though im sure you would be able to shave those holsters down a bit!! They are way too thick. When I brought an Incinerator trooper, they included a fire effect with that. Fair enough,it never came with blasters and swappable head/helmet,but there would still be room. Nice looking figure though. i expect to get troop builder boxes of them some day.
I hope because that would be sick!
Meh, we have to speak with our wallets.. hasbro is trying to create a new, low standard for what qualifies as
✨ D E L U X E✨
2021 ROTJ boba’s jetpack is almost perfect; could use a paint touch-up, but the sculpt is dead-on. Better than the one he comes with too; which is a reused death watch mando jetpack. Not the same as jango’s geonosis one. They’re similar at a glance, but very different sculpt-wise
@@valettashepard909 you are doing the Lords work with this comment 🤝🏽
Thank you, i was planning on swapping the jetpacks out myself since i’ll have an extra ROTJ boba one from making my ESB boba one. The morak boba’s pack is almost dead-on to boba’s ESB jetpack since it lacks the weld scar; some weathering and a blackwash will help achieve the ESB look
Nice figure, but I wish they didn't reuse the tcw crop top style of chest armor for him when it didn't look like that in episode 2
@@valettashepard909I agree, couldn't have said it better myself! We should get Book Of Jango Fett, I like Boba but it would be better.
@@MemeMasterMemeThe High Jinx of Jango Fett
Beautiful figure, but not deluxe, thanxxx for the Show BB💪🙂
I know I'm probably in the minority but I absolutely despise swappable heads. It should have been a removable helmet like they did with the "deluxe" BoBF Boba Fett. It has nothing to do with having to make the helmet bigger to accommodate for the sculpted hair because I put a clone head with hair on the new ROTJ VC Boba body and the BoBF deluxe helmet fits perfectly and looks great.
Could not agree more! Hate swapable heads!
Didn’t know this was out anywhere yet!
good figure, but horrible price.
If you ask me, the original Axe Wolves should've been a deluxe figure, his helmet was honking huge🤣🤣🤣
😆👏
not as big as sabine.
he's still missing the little arrows on the forehead.
He is
After years and years and years.
In the 501st and MMCC, if someone walked in with this kit, he’d be sent back to revisions
Agreed
So they are using _more_ plastic to make a part thicker, and thats going to save them money?!
But it's why they could give us Imperial caps that fit perfectly with Captain Needa in 2009, and now in this advanced age of hyper-articulation and photoreal likenesses Admiral Piett has to look like he's smuggling something under there
This figure looks great but the price point of these new Hasbro figures has me not wanting to buy them.
Pretty decent figure. A little let down his helmet isn't removable instead just a head-swap, but overall it's pretty good. I love the articulation
Great stuff Tim lad. I think the paint apps they are doing is smashing it these days!!!
IMO, this is the death of deluxe and, with the RRP, Hasbro know it..
Coming to a bubble near you soon
Should have included his alternate backpack. It's not like they couldn't have used the Morak Boba Fett backpack on this and it appears to use the same peg system.
I think @hasbro for £24.99 the paint job on the armour helmet should be better and the details on the holsters and the blasters should be sharper and painted better please? Plus should there be more accessories @hasbropulse?
I hate to say this totally agree as good as that figure looks such a rip off did not need to be deluxe at all
That side by side of him carded… little bit of a mic drop 😂 But he looks great and I’ll be happy to have this figure in my collection.
I am happy Hasbro announce this figure as deluxe because at the time I was able to get vintage collection 34 jango Fett for $55 Mint on card.
There's no way in hell I'm buying this figure. That is not a $40 figure. My last Jango will do fine. They need to cut this greasy shit out right now.
It is just a mishmash of Jango appearances that leave inaccurate completely.
-missing 2 triangles between black lines on helmet
-has geonosis jetpack but with kamino helmet/no dent
-doesn’t have kamino jetpack
-proportions are not accurate to Tem at all.
Man they really should’ve included soft goods poncho charging a deluxe price
just reuse the old one.
@@nightdriver yeah unless you’re a MOC collector and don’t wanna open you’re og Jango, at that price point it should be included

This is my first look at this..I agree with you on all aspects on the figure..maybe the holsters are bigger to counter weight the figure when you use the flame..and yes it NOT a dx figure..I might grab one if or when it goes down in price...cheers Tim🍺🍺🍻
anyone else pre-order on the day of launch and are still waiting for theirs? I emailed Hasbro and they said it'll be here mid April.
Any figure with the name Fett apparently has to be "deluxe" and over priced. I'm shocked he doesn't come with a Grogu. That flame affect is nice.
Its a good figure, but its just waisted, both jetpacks, the poncho, the Slave 1 headset or even the jar of "space slugs" he gives to Zam wouldve been apreciated. I would have to replace the holsters with maybe the 30th Anniversary version cause they do not look right, great vid as always mate 👍👌👌
still waiting for mine to arrive...
The Dark Trooper is being done on a single card. Does this mean the other 'deluxe' figures will follow single carded ?
Great looking figure I will say the helmet looks good but like said the missing stuff is annoying but I think the look overall looks better than most previous like I never personally like the skinny helmet and it seemed a lot of the old ones had it
It's a nice action figure! Nice and bright shiney colors on him!
Tim you hit the nail on the head, thanks for the review.
No poncho, no spare jetpack, no hook. Come on. Some deluxe.
does anyone think they will remaster the figure? on card, perhaps with the other jetpack, and potentially modified holsters, although I'm not really bothered.
I was confused with mine, and then I realized while watching your video I got two left arms (he doesn't have the arm where the flame attaches).
I already have the tvc jango butt ill pick this up.... 6 months after it drops to 13 bucks this ain't worth squat at over 20
It wasn’t clear to me in the video.. is it a removable helmet or swappable head/helmet?
Swappable - I do show putting the head on
I just got mine and Holy cow its actually a ball dropped. The helmet is way too tight for the peg and i am not able to take it off anymore and his stomach joint is so loose it almost falls under the weight of the flame. I am slowly giving up on collecting figures.
I like it!! 😀
Thank you for the great review, as always!
“Deluxe” 😂🤣
I Really like the Look of this Figure!
This would have been a standard $10 figure just a few years ago.
Also, they really need to use a Black Series style window box for these non-deluxe "deluxe" figures. Carded would be preferred, but this sealed box nonsense needs to end.
And that is a beautiful figure Bossk it really is!!
It's a shame they can't make hardly anything 100% accurate. Black series would probably get an entirely all new parts figure :(
Nice figure but the price is INSANE. That was the deciding factor in why I didn't buy it.
How could they not paint his iconic chrome blasters it's really lazy cost cutting yet they want to charge us deluxe for this not Impressed at all.
deluxe my rear end..just like the other sets this will go on clearance...then i'll get it
Oh man you got it already you lucky dog you lol I have two of them ordered from Game Stop can't wait to get mine great video brother and good for you you always get them first
Nice figure, though im sure you would be able to shave those holsters down a bit!! They are way too thick. When I brought an Incinerator trooper, they included a fire effect with that. Fair enough,it never came with blasters and swappable head/helmet,but there would still be room. Nice looking figure though. First review I've seen of this figure, and a great review as well, thankyou.👍
Thanks!
if you're able to shave them down successfully please let me know, I was thinking the same thing.
Anyone got any tips on how to make him look up?
Awesome review as always Bosk! I love the figure, can't wait to receive mine in April!
Also are you going to make a review about the new 501st clone trooper pack soon!? I received it today and loved it,can't wait to hear your thoughts about it!

Didn't buy on principle Tim 😂
Does look nice (with helmet on!)
Hey BB nice figure can’t wait to get my hands on it 😊
That rangefinder looks silly and huge!
Did Hasbro drop this from $26 to $24? I said fuck it and preordered it anyway. Need a modern Jango and I really don’t like any of the TLC/30th/SAGA variants as much as I wanted a card back
Already? My Pulse preorder says mid April!
