Shame this episode never happened in real life. Like most of this movie.
The 1960s Ford GT40 accelerated no harder than a regular family hatchback does today. And not even your grandmother has this kind of reaction to that.
@@captain_context9991that's bs, the original GT40 did 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and a 2020 Honda civic does it in 7.8 seconds or a Hyundai Elantra does it in 8.4 seconds, a Kia Rio does it in 8.2 seconds. And those are the rules... That you just made up.
It was Aston Martins LeMans racing boss that came to the small workshop in Slough England. Outside Windsor castle and asked if Lola could help them build a racecar. And they went there because Lotus had already turned them down.
They eventually agreed to set up a second production line and built the Ford GT40 out of a Lola MK6. Using a Ford engine.
The Ford GT40 is about as "American" as the statue of Liberty... Which was engineered and built in France.
Just like the AC Cobra. And it continues to this day. Hennessey F5, SSC Tuatara. Never touched by American hands.
