I didn't download the most recent roster update before recording this video, due to the Franchise Mode glitch that was happening to some people. Luckily, all of the players I used have the exact same trade value EXCEPT for Boedker, who went down. So San Jose would have to trade Braun instead :)

EA's recent gameplay Updates have been messing with many GM Modes. It was all over Twitter.

I drafted McDavid in a fantasy draft and at 24 he was a 98 overall for me in my Be a GM. Found that pretty insane.

zach spetko not to be rude but the only team oilers beat was an injured San Jose squad (search up what they were playing with) you guys did good vs the ducks but you guys would get shut down by nas, St Louis, and probably Chicago. not be sweeper but probably lose in 6 games and I think it's easy to say the east is the harder conference this year and probably the next few so don't mistake this year as "almost winning the cup"
Riyaz Ahmed Yeah your not taking into account That this was McDavids first full year, Draisitl's second season. The team is built around those two with a perfect mix of young talent and some veteran as well.
look at the 80's Oilers with Gretzky and Messier, the Penguins of the early 90's with Lemieux, and also the Sidney Crosby era... they all didn't win the cup until at least the 4th year of they're TRUE generational player's career. Connor McDavid( ie - Gretzky/Lemieux/Orr) and Draisitl will be even BETTER next year! Connor won the scoring title handily and Leon was 8th in scoring this season. If history is repeating itself here which it already looks like it is, (McDavid the 3rd player in history to win NHL scoring title before before 20 yo or younger) then I would have to guess that yes this team will crush in the west in they're 3rd season together.

As a Hawks fan... I think McDavid would easily replace Toews as far as skill goes but I'm not (yet) sure about leadership. And the thing is that we'd lose Panarin as well so Kane would probably have to play with McDavid to ensure that he has a high skill winger and that might kill our depth. But McDavid would be a franchise player, no doubt about it.
value is based on talent and skill for vets, and potential for prospects...so demko's makes sense. He's very good

99% of teams cannot offer enough for McDavid. he's young, his hockey vision is the compared to Gretzky, his speed is comparable to Bobby Orr and his puck control is comparable to Lemieux. and he's making less than $900, 000. aside from Crosby, NO ONE can compare.
Demko really is that good. Watching him in college, he's gonna be a top 5 goalie in the league eventually.

Rangers fan here - yes I'd take the trade. It seems unreasonable for Edmonton to go that route, and it would be a shame to lose Mac & Mika, but we could use a superstar of that caliber to get us a Stanley cup.

As a long time Chicago fan, I would say there is no way we would trade Toews and Panarin for McDavid. With that said I have a ton of respect for McDavid and think he will be one of the best players in NHL history when all is said and done.

This raises an interesting question for NHL 17. If you do a gm mode as Edmonton, is it not worth it to trade McDavid for two elite pieces? Wouldn't you rather have a 90 centre and D man than even a 99 McDavid?
Lots of people don't seem to understand that these trades aren't realistic. No one is trading half their core for one player in today's NHL - it's just showing what gets accepted and what doesn't.
Realistically the only way Edmonton would accept a McDavid trade would be if the numbers coming back WERE ridiculous (and impossible) like Matthews/Rielly/1st and potentially more. There's just no reason to trade him.

As a Leaf fan, I really don't know. McDavid is absolutely amazing, but giving up a bit much for him with a 1st round puck, Reilly and Matthews. Viewing the trade from The Oilers perspective though, that's what it would take for me really, though I'd try to erase the 1st round pick and try to work out getting Marner off Toronto too somehow. Reality: Neither GM would enter this crazy scenario in the first place, but it's always fun to speculate.

I did a Islanders gm mode, and I traded Johnny T and first round picks from McDavid, and McDavid turned into a 99 overall so it was totally worth it
that Chicago trade would of worked probably with just Toews and a 1st round pick. yea it would be amazing for us to get a young franchise playmaker instead of a defensive 2 way 1st line center in Toews. but personally I feel like everyone in the Hawks franchise wouldn't make this trade reguardless. he's our Captain. he's here to stay. hopefully.

McDavid is better than all three of the Leafs young rookies - Matthews, Marner, and Nylander. However is one superstar more important than 3 potentially elite players at winning a cup? I think any team is better having 3 great players than one superstar. Having said that, can you imagine McDavid, Matthews, Marner, and Laine on the same team?
as a Buffalo fan they'll never give up Eichel but in chel that trade is probably worth it because Eichel never really seems to put up a ton of points, like I've done so many Buffalo gm modes and even on really good teams as like a 94 overall Eichel can't get 82 points in a season

I don't think the Blackhawks would trade Toews and Panarin. Toews is starting to come around offensively and always is a great defensive and a great leader while Panarin is just in his 2nd year and is looking to be a right handed Patrick Kane with a better one timer when he gets older.

This was a really fun experiment that really did make me think. If McDavid were to be traded it would have to be for a damn good young franchise level talent. We're talking he's in the CHL at 12 good. (Which of course is impossible.)
I am curious as to why some of the younger players such as Patrik Laine, Zach Werenski and Cam Atkinson etc were not chosen. Did it have to do with not having updated rosters or some salary cap technicality? Then again I didn't see Johnny Hockey in their either which would be absolutely the most hilarious thing when you think of the teams they play for. (I also think Johnny Gaudreau might be a tad overrated and certainly not enough for a one on one trade.) Columbus has several talented players that could make a trade for McDavid realistic but then so do the Caps who are a really great team and on fire right now.
I love goalies but I don't think any goalie would be tradeable on their own, even the hot ones which have a few years on them. I can't think of any young talents on the fly that would have the power to work in a McDavid trade. Devan Dubnyk, Sergei Bobrovsky, Johnathan Quick, Braden Holtby and Carey Price might be tradeable with some other star players and some first round picks put in for good measure. Plus Cam Talbot is pretty good and I think that it would seem ridiculous to add a top notch goalie unless Cam was part of the trade.
The Henrik Lundqvist thing was interesting since Cam once played for the Rangers as Lundqvist's backup. Would Lundqvist be the backup to Cam in his final years? Talk about reversal of fortune!
Any player has got to be young and have enough talent to make up for what they lose which is a lot. It would be emotionally draining for the team which has spent years on a rebuild much like Toronto to get rid of their star player for a few players, that while good, are not at the same caliber as McDavid. I personally think it would be a multi team trade with first round picks so some similarities to the Eric Lindros trade.
As an Avs fan I'd say yes to that deal, hell they could get an extra 1st round pick
As a fan of Toronto, I would consider sending Matthews, Marner and Nylander to Edmonton for McDavid, But giving up their best defenseman by far AND Matthews, I wouldn't like it if they did that.
