Finally. Why i did not think of this years ago. I can not free style lettering. So I moved away from tshirt airbrushing years ago. I gonna try this.
I found a graffiti font and cut some temporary cardstock letters on my Cricut Maker to try this technique with, and it came out fairly decent even though I too can't freehand to save my life. Also, I was using a "POS" airbrush with a bent (and straightened) needle and I'm a rank amateur. My purple/pink/yellow gradient sucked though, looking more like three solid colored stripes.
these stencils look awesome it would be cool to see more tutorials on design ideas...

@@quintin360 as long as you're selling airbrushed art.. I was able to sell graff names on hats at $45 - $50.. sell a few a day or on a busy weekend and the product pays for itself. If you're doing for hobby and not for selling or speed painting.. I'll the first to say don't buy it.. just freehand your letters. If you own an airbrush shop and you have artist who can't graff, these stencils help with consistency in the letters between artists.

You choose, give yourself freedom to experiment and get creative, I didn't follow any structure just went with what fits

It doesn't wash off, it's ETAC paint for fabric.. once cured, it's locked in.

what kind of paper is that
I'm just another TH-cam viewer but based on the information on ChinoStencils website, the material their stencils are made from is "Dura-Lar", and best I was able to determine by Googling it, it's a polyester based acetate substitute that has some of the properties of Mylar. Most of what I've found online is transparent but Chino obviously is using translucent matte material instead of transparent.

@chinostencils do you do all your stencils and cut them out for whatever project your doing ?? Is it easier that way when it comes to air brushing
im pretty sure he uses a vinyl cutter like a circuit or cameo so its quicker and all stencils look the same

Maybe. But I think they are more for like a state fair or a birthday party or like if someone is getting married. It needs to be super legible. I've seen people use markers and airbrush, etc, and do some insane stuff on these hats, but this kit, I think, is more to make some quick money. Imagine you could charge 40 or 50 bucks in some places for these.
For the speople they think you can spell in graffiti is not how to for letters I think they never do graffiti
