I just bought a airbrush machine.....as a artist that does graphic design, tattoos, and now paintings in the form of canvas, and murals ....airbrushing took me back to first tattooing trying to figure out how to operate this machine but this just made me want to take it out and practice...thank you
hey, i'm wanted to start painting with airbrushes, something i never did before, would you mind if you can give me some tips on which material should i buy first?
Great work! .. I remember back in the early 90's when I airbrushed shirts for various State Fairs we would have to change copyrighted images to a certain degree before we could sell them. We couldn't paint Mickey Mouse ... It was "Mackey Mouse" with sunglasses and a different color outfit lol! I think my Paasche VL sets are still in storage. You make me want to upgrade them and start again lol.
I spoke to a guy online on one of the forums, he lost everything. He was at a fair doing shirts... sheriff came by with some suit and said "We need to speak to you". They took his trailer, all his gear etc. Disney got wind of him and made an example of him. I don't think he got anything back and still paying on the suit. Copyrighted material is very, very risky! I wouldn't even do "changed" images.
@@creepybunny255 Same thing happened in Florida back in the 80's , they went down the strip and fined every artist or shop that was doing copyright material fined them 10k per artist or shop and artist, done the same thing when they were doing the old spuds makinsey shirts. I don't touch any copy right material at all.

Aqua Flow won't fade if you heat set it at 375 degrees for 60 seconds and when washing it use cold water and hang to dry. I have a shirt that i did in '93 of Allan Cowickies car and it's still almost the same as when i first air brushed it. also remember when air brushing a t shirt you want the paint ti go into the fabric threads to last, not just on top of the shirt, air brush shirts at 60 psi, and also if it's say a special design like someones vehicle or pet or portrait, you can use a top binder on the shirt which helps it not fade. I'm not jeff, but I hope this info helps.
Jeff, you can really make that red stand out by adding a little hot pink into the design, try it next time and see how you like it. Do you like the Iwata better than the VL3? To me when it comes to t-shirt air brushing you can't beat the old work horse VL3.
Yep, it makes hot red. 😁 I started out using Paasche VL's and you're right they're great but I like the eclipse because of how it feels, as well as the volume of paint it will spray.
What paint are you using in the T shirt because I have a problem when wash the t shirt i'm using wicked and createx and acrilex.... the acrilex paint not have a problem but with the createx and wicked yes 😔😔 can you help me please
I'm using Aqua Flow and Etac paint. It's basically the same as Createx paint... It just flows a little different. Before I let the shirt go to the customer I heat set the artwork with a hot press: 30 seconds at 370 - 390 degrees. Then remind the customer to NOT put the shirt in the dryer as this will accelerate the fading. Hope this helps 👍
@@JeffCopeland1560 I used Aqua Flow and Etac myself, I've actually picked up my paint at the owner of Aqua Flows in the past,He only lives around 45 mins from me. very nice guy He has given me a lot of different test colors to try out back in the '80's and '90's ,but it's been many many yrs ago,I also started using Etac paint in early '93. what is the dilution rate of the createx between the water and the paint, plus the pressure of the compressor
Createx paint do not need to be thinned... Use it right out of the bottle. I keep my compressor set at 65 psi.
@@JeffCopeland1560 ok nice thanks
@@JeffCopeland1560 With so much pressure you can do things as fine and without splashing on any type of support?
I'm mostly doing shirts so I need a higher pressure. For illustration (kn illustration board) I might lower the psi to 45
