    Beautiful clips! It's a no brainer that you're making good sales from these! I've uploaded around 100 clips so far from South Florida where I live and can't wait to get back to my family's home up in Vermont this summer and fall to take some beautiful footage... no sales yet. :( Shooting in 4K with Mavic Air 2 also. Uploading to Shutterstock, Pond5 and Adobe.

    Thank you for sharing this with us! Really cool to see what clips are selling and really helpful for those starting out. Strictly out of curiosity, what codec and format do you upload your stock in? Many of the cameras used in your stock footage above would record to mp4 h.264 internally so are you delivering in this format or transcoding to something like ProRes? Again, thank you for sharing! :)

      I follow the Blackbox guidelines for uploading H.264 footage. You should follow the guidelines for whatever platform you choose to sell through.

    hi...tx for the video
    i'm new and keen to get started
    please guide me...
    1. i noticed one of your videos was shot with an iphone...and iphone save in .mov right? how did u upload to blackbox? do they accept .mov? or did you convert it to another format before uploading?
    2. i can shoot in 4k 24/30/60 fps. what should i choose? do the same shot per fps? or just shoot 60 fps and allow the users software to adjust my clip?
    tx

      Check the upload guidelines for file format and extensions. I do edit all of my clips in Adobe Premiere. As far as frame rate, I would only shoot 24 unless you have a very specific reason. Otherwise shoot 30 or 60.

    hi thanks for video, is it important which frame rate we shooting for sells, my footages generally 25f/s ?

    • @drewbdarby
      @drewbdarby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would either be looking at 24/25/30. Since I repurpose footage from other shoots, I typically just use whatever frame rate those projects were in. If you were specifically shooting for stock I’d shoot 30.

      Frame rates are all listed on the individual clips

    • @yumyumkevin
      @yumyumkevin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drewbdarby lol sorry I meant to phrase it as what frame rates do you recommend to record in? I noticed most were 30. Would you say thats "safer" to record than 60 since 30 might be more widely used

    • @drewbdarby
      @drewbdarby  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If there’s enough light to properly expose 60, I would definitely shoot 60 and slow down to 30. That gives potential buyers more options that just shooting 30.

    Good stuff. Keep shooting and uploading. I'm making between $250-300/mo/ with 1600-ish clips. I think you could do the same ratio.

    I mean no disrespect... Ok?
    But I think this is hobby for the rich or some kind of extra income for people who live in low income countries.
    10 cents per image is not real money.
