I expected some hiccups, but I can't report anything but flawless function. To be fair I only shoot factory ammo, mostly Federal and a little Winchester, but it's been reliable thus far. Just for laughs, I'd like to try steel cased and some that newfangled polytip stuff.
Thank you brother, I appreciate you swinging by the channel. Haven't uploaded in a bit, but hopefully, this weekend I can get a new video up! Thanks again for watching! ✌
Congrats on the new buy. I've seen brand new, straight from Colt factory 1911s, shot, right out of the box with no real issues. I'd frequent a gun shop that had a gun range, and see multiple people complete their FFL transfer, get handed their new piece, and go straight to a lane on the range. My personal preference is to dissassemble ANY new gun, clean out the barrel from any factory test fire residues, oils, gunk, etc, lube it up and reassemble for range time. Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary? No, probably not. But it's just what I do. Thanks for watching ✌
+ECduuzit Tough choice, 🍔 or 🔫! lol, guess I'm goin hungry!😂 BUT, Rock Island makes a pretty sweet entry level 1911, $450-$600, well made and a good trigger, and actually a pretty nice shooter. I've had the opportunity to shoot their basic "GI" model and I was impressed. The trigger was as good as a mid-level Remington 1911 I've shot, but at almost half the cost! Thanks for watching bud!
Too heavy? Are we men or aren't we? Men carried carried that pistol along with 9.5 pound M1 Garand during WWII and they didn't complain. Wjhy? Because they were men. How sad that the males of today don't have the strength to carry a loaded 1911A1 because its to heavy. I was in a gun store the other day and a male bought a SIG P365 and couldn't load the 10 round magazine by hand. He was such a wimp he spent $30 on a magazine loader.
DPS no, they didn’t complain because they were soldiers who were physically trained to be able to lift a certain cargo for long distances, while we are just enthusiasts. And even if you were professionally trained to hold and move around with guns, most security corps use polymer pistols nowadays, so the weight difference would still stand out.
I think the Colt Series 70 (Original or Reproduction) is the best looking 1911 ever made. Fine selection!
Thanks, Imoho, I think so too 😁
Thanks for watching ✌
Excellent review of the Colt pistol!
Great video! I am going to order one.
You'll be glad you did, can't go wrong with Colt ✌.

Beautiful piece of American history.
Waiting to take delivery of a new one from GB in .45 stainless. Is it necessary to clean beyond surface wipe out of the box & before first use?
Congrats on the new buy.

If it only had a wide hammer spur...
