I really love the rallying behavior of the Eagle Whale. There's a scene from the Wii game Endless Ocean Blue World where a mysterious force brings thousands of cetaceans of different species to the Red Sea all at once that is quite a sight to behold. Interspecies cooperation is rare on Earth, but its mere existence is mystifying and really cool.
Kaimere deserves an Hollywood movie. It's better than Avatar because it's scientifically more accurate. I absolutely love the fact that together the animals RI-elaborated by your fantasy a lot of amazing real animals (like orcas) can co-exist. You have gained a new subscriber
I love the Bilyuk! He's such a gnarly little guy. You never see a whale that's kind of mangy like that. And I love that they team up to defend their kids!
Here's something you could know about Objecia: Like on Earth, Rorquals are highly successful. There are 7 cetotheres but are very shy and have to compete with rorquals. Because Objecia is closer in climate to the late Pliocene, the tropics are smaller. The cetotheres are also easy prey for the sharks, some toothed whales, and even Hourglass Jellyfish.
@@TalesofKaimere Yeah, so interesting. Anyway, do you think that river whales would fair well on Earth (assuming that the Kaimeran people opened the portal to import some animals from Kaimere to Earth)?
If you're wondering about the 3 other Cetotheres left unmentioned, they are the small black Bilkata and the striped Bilgetu, and like the Bilur (the Common Whale), they are surface feeders. Plus, the Bilyukiko is a bottom-feeder related to the larger Bilyuk.
Despite their rather peacefull demeanor baleen whales can actually put a fight against predators. Humpbacks and gray whales are reported to charge orcas and came victorious.
The baleen whales in Kaimere look amazing and i think it's awesome that you have river whales living in the rivers just like freshwater dolphins but are still gentle giants and can destroy ships.
Hummm, sounds impratical and a disavantage being só big for the ballen whalles since they are easy target to colossal macropredatorial monsters in Kaimere, you ideia off inter-species cooperation to avoid then is amazing, such criative ideia.
Actually, Balaenoptera is the same genus as the modern Blue Whale, so the Sun and Spotted Whales of Kaimere actually do have a relative on Earth, though they don't reach its size.
0:18 I’m a bit confused here. If there’s a lot of upwells and runoffs on Kaimere, why wouldn’t rorquals do well? While there might be less nutrients, kaimere having more frequent upwells and runoffs would be able to sorta balance it out, i think?
Some of the creatures were old creature concepts, but the method I generally follow is that the portal opens and harvests life from Earth throughout history and the creatures then evolve independently compared to their Earth ancestors.
@@brastionskywarrior6951 Ah! I see. Some elements were from old childhood maps, yes. From there I'm expanding based on my admittedly elementary understanding of geology (if there are mountains here that implies the continent has been moving in this direction etc) which has had quite a few fun implications for the flora and fauna as the known world is not only the location of the portal but three continents, two of which are basically pushing the third further north.
There's such a diversity of cetecean! But I will wonder about the whale species on earth the lives in the arctic year round, the Bowhead whale, did it make it to kaimere?
Unfortunately given their surface feeding that makes them quite vulnerable to predators large enough to bring them down (something they don’t have to worry about on Earth) and smaller cetotheres are better at harvesting the more dispersed nutrients in this warmer climate. Many cetotheres are basically little versions of them and live quite similar lives, but bowheads and right whales are not found in Kaimere.
I dont understand the eurypterid and sea scorpions, are they poisonous? wouldnt such creatures be easy meals for any strong toothed animal? perhaps they have some new unique way to shed that allows them to grow faster and larger?
The inkilatura (giant aquatic scorpion) molt in colder and deeper waters than most of the large predators prefer. Their stingers are mildly venomous, but the proteins only cause a jolt of intense pain as a deterrence rather than any significant damage. All that said, they aren't terribly common, since most don't make it to the 'predator proof' sizes (and even then they can be torn apart by a motomazor).
A lot of junglefowl like chickens. There are a few ratites, along with several other large ground birds (currently working on an enantiornithean that lives like an emu). No dodos.
Not in the current canon (easy prey for the former and unable to compete with bottom feeding cetotheres for the latter) but that may change as I continue to develop the other regions since both clades had access to portals in recent history.

another great addition, and another speculative world that has finds ways to make animals interesting without having them just be bigger.

Thanks so much!
Mmm. Some more interspecies cooperation I see. Possibly some mixed whale pods in the future?
The benefits of protection against the many predators large enough to bring down a large whale do encourage mixed species pods
I really like the idea of the bilyuk using the barnacles as a weapon, simbiont weapons for animals is something than fascinate me.

There are even cases of the rorquals and Long-Snouted Whales teaming up to gobble up huge swarms of plankton the size of the United States.
River whales? I love this river whale concept! I would have love to see freshwater baleen whales in real life. :)
Heck yeah! I like em

I love the sun whale :)
Never thought I would be so early, great video as always!

@@TalesofKaimere does any modren day tigers exist in kaimere like in any of the islands with no large carnivorous dinosaur
is there somewhere i can purchase a compendium/field guide to all the creatures of kaimere?
Not yet, but I am hoping to put one together in the near future!

Thanks! I love whales so even if the climate isn’t to the liking of giants, there’s still plenty of species.
@@TalesofKaimere You're welcome, I do think it's cool that you have these different species of whales in Kaimere and they're all unique.

Quite well! Plan on doing a video on them eventually (probably not until next year)
@@TalesofKaimere What happened to the pachycephalosaurids?
5:11 mammals together strong.

Not well. I may have a relict population on the Jurassic Island (large island terrestrially isolated since the Jurassic) but I’m not yet sure

There are a lot, just not as many as in the polar seas of Earth. There are concentrations of food, just not as many as whales of Earth enjoy
And there are enough for a few species to thrive. Sorry if there was some confusion in my wording there.
@@TalesofKaimere no problem
