Great video, lovely day for weather! I love spotting all those bits of old industry that can be tucked away in the undergrowth on canal and railway walks, Sluices, bridges, bricked up tunnels. Fascinating and mysterious. I used to like watching Fred Dibnah.
❤ A great clip again. Hubbyis from there. Now at 72, fighting cancer, he's not likely to get back there sadly. He (we) always enjoy your clips Gareth. Much love from the two of us here in Tasmania. (Your telegram family ) ❤
Great cinematography. Really something what can be done with drones. Thanks for the walk, guys. Have a great day. SO glad we didn’t get Kamala here in the states.
Great walk, interesting, I've visited the Mind, Body, Spirit event they have there a few times. I've seen Thomas Tank there too... it was a while ago though. Always was a good day out. Thanks both of you.
enjoyed very much. We only visited once to Elsecar and only got a short time, we need to go again, especially for the Newcomen pump. I think they have one at the Blackcountry museum and they fire it up from time to time
Top walk as always lads, I pass that way a fair bit when on my way to Wentworth Woodhouse which is full of history and with a stomp, in the Second World War they opencast right up to the front of the big house there at Wentworth, apparently the reason why was not due to the coal quality but more Manny Shinwell wanting to owe off the aristocracy for the way the Fitzwilliams treated miners pre nationalisation, the open cast tho left the house needing a lot of work to save it Anyhoo another suggestion for a stomp is the old Penalta Colliery site in Wales, lots of remains there and a landscaped horse made on the old spoil tips named after a pit ponie Keep up the good work buddy
Good video, a word about Ickonic and Christianne van Wijk, her excuse for why some of her guests do not speak english makes no sense, so i am not impressed with her at all and will not watch her videos with subtitles which is a shame
There's talk of reopening the railway at some point. Here's info about that railway station which is original and not just placed there. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_Fitzwilliam%27s_private_railway_station
Hayup Gareth there’s a lot going on there, it may be worth making a thumbstick them long thin staffs so you can jab it in to the undergrowth ahead of yours to make sure your on firm ground an not a hidden sluice or culvert! Henry Ford tried to buy that engine in the late twenties I guess he had a mineshaft that needed emptying or pumping! or just fancied the provenance? On the subject of heritage lines I did see that Swanage was in a similar predicament not sure how there doing now? I wonder if anything can be done to bring awareness an funds?! They should all sue for deception they’d have to be aware first of course, you never know where the realisation predominantly resides, perhaps it’ll be passion an hobby driven or passionate enthusiasm. I’ll post on Friday an cheers for that.
Brilliant, thank you both! Beautiful day. Lols at the sign-off too! 👓👓
A nice peaceful walk with history of days gone by. 💕

Elsecar held so much promise as a heritage center, its so sad that it all came to a stop and is now run down.
It's too bad that so many canals are lost. But is there any good fishing in them?
Hello Gareth.I like you
