Thank you Ireland, for all your wonderful music and dance- it is a constant inspiration! From London, but originally from Lisbon- Portugal, much love always ❤
I am just writting a comment under this video, but this applies to each of the videos you uploaded! It is so nice!!! I was looking for a long to beautiful renaissance/medieval music to play along with and it was very hard to find! But thanks to your group and yout videos it is now possible. So once again thank you very much! I am delighted to wait to the others song you will upload! :)
it was never banned and it was never about the rain. It's a medieval song from my area (northeastern Italy). It depicts a battle between witches and benandanti.
@@Nora.Lynn82For some reason it only let's me respond with my other account. Thank you for giving me better info on this, I was referencing what I read and was likely misinformed. Thank you for correcting me, I will look into it further
Its an old dance from the 16. century. Branduardi did one version, but our version is not inspired by him. to be honest, we didn't even know his version as we did ours.
@@musicacalamus1416 I think Branduardi took his melody from medieval music too. Maybe it's from the same source. I don't know. Branduardi's song is called "Ballo in fa diesis minore".

More folk tunes. What would those who were not land owners and lords have listened to or played?
I'd love to hear Erutan perform this one, Court of Leaves II...😊 Great work here Musica Calamus!
Wonderful stuff. So uplifting and cheering. Congrats you guys. Love it.
Tipica musica goliardica che uno scrittore di manoscritti indecifrabili ascolterebbe
Mediaeval foot-tapper. Brilliant. Thank you from Ireland.

Love it
Classic . One of my favorite songs for the rain. Originally a rain dance apparently it was banned under that accusation
Elaborate on this?

Could you give more specific info about the melody? What region it was composed in, what century exactly, etc?
Ma non è la stessa musica di Branduardi?
si
