    What strikes me about this is the precision of Brian’s harmonica and guitar playing - leading from the front and right on it. A great musician, long passed, but never to be forgotten……

    • @garypautard1069
      @garypautard1069 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes I think we all forgot what a great harmonica player Brian was. His musical roots really were in blues and story goes he was unhappy when the band moved toward flower power music.

    • @KaiserBlade
      @KaiserBlade ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Precision? Really. What song did the great Brian Jones write? What song has his great memorable lick?

    • @misterjones7929
      @misterjones7929 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@KaiserBlade "he co-wrote a few tracks and never got credited for them, "Ruby Tuesday" being one of them". Examples of Jones's contributions are his slide guitar on "I Wanna Be Your Man" (1963), "I'm a King Bee", "Little Red Rooster" (1964), "I Can't Be Satisfied" (1964), "I'm Movin' On" (1965), "Mona" (1965), "Doncha Bother Me" and "No Expectations". Jones can also be heard playing Bo Diddley-style rhythm guitar on "I Need You Baby", "Please Go Home", "19th Nervous Breakdown", and the guitar riff in "The Last Time"; sitar on "Street Fighting Man" and "Paint It Black"; organ on "Let's Spend the Night Together"; marimba on "Under My Thumb", "Out of Time" and "Yesterday's Papers"; recorder on "Ruby Tuesday" and "All Sold Out"; saxophone on "Child of the Moon" and "Citadel"; kazoo on "Cool, Calm & Collected"; Appalachian dulcimer on "I Am Waiting" and "Lady Jane", Mellotron on "She's a Rainbow", "We Love You", "Stray Cat Blues", "2000 Light Years from Home", and "Citadel"; and the autoharp on "Ride On, Baby" and (for his final recording as a Rolling Stone) on "You Got the Silver". He also played the oboe/soprano sax solo in "Dandelion". Etc, Etc.......

    When the Stones covered a song like Buddy Holly's Not Fade Away, they would take possession of the song, and lay down the definitive interpretation of that song. "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" does the same. They invoke Muddy Waters, but the song at that moment belongs to them. All the Chuck Berry covers -same and I love Chuck!

      He reminds me of Stevie wright with his performance. Stevie was the front man of the Easybeats.
      He taught them all how to entertain the audience.
      He would do back flips on the stage and dance around the stage also.
      He was a great performer and song writer.
      Lost to early.
      He loved to perform.
      He owned the stage when he performed.

      He was copying every movement of Stevie Wright's dance moves.😮😮. To take the credit for his Dancing was nothing short of theft.

    Brian is great, cheerful and participatory in this show, he even did a vocal with Mick. Which leads us to reflect on what affected Brian for him to isolate himself and distance himself from the rest of the band. Was it Mick's charisma as a vocalist and lyricist with Keith, or his troubled personality that led him to drugs and alcohol? Brian will always be the first Stone.

    Interesting to contrast the “Carol” here, with the one from 1969 with Mick Taylor taking the Brian Jones spot. That one crushes this one like a grape.
