@@TheBodrey It's not just user unfriendly but it's hard to navigate execution. It's ok if your an investor/swing trader but for daytrades/scalps it's terrible.

It's incredible how complicated this is compared to Robinhood.
I hear ya, but it's also designed for a professional trader audience so it has a lot of tools you won't find on Robinhood. Also, IB doesn't sell your orders to algorithms to trade against your positions and give you bad fills - this is why the commission is cheap. If you aren't paying, you are the product. :) Big difference in the two is my point. Sending you love, joy and happiness.
There’s a reason TWS is free, this results in downtime from trading to learn it. Other professional user intuitive platforms cost $ but you’re up and running in 1 or 2 days.

Great video, thank you. I am new at using IBKR and using the Web Portal. Is it recommended to use TWS, desktop, or the portal? Also, what training is recommended to learn well IBKR options?
Missing from TWS is both a scanner on derived values like 'slow stochastic is below 30' (so I have build my own scanner to select stocks) and real time charts on mobile for some markets like XETRA. Other than that it is a nice platform.

Where the hell you find an option to split the puts and calls(i hear you just push a button and i see the red arrow at where should we find but on that red chain no options to split something..its just group1,2,3 etc)
Man one has to be a genius on how to use this Mosiac Platform. I have been trying it out for a day or so and watched many videos on here on it but I cannot even get to the point where I click on an Ask or Bid to buy or sell an option. Nothing happens and does not show up in the lower window. Also if I click on strategy builder, the top page goes blank and tells me to click on a leg but no more legs to see. I think it will take a year to figure this out. I think I will just have to skip this whole platform and buy on the web page on the home page of IB where one just clicks on buy or sell.
How do you convert e.g an existing put spread into iron butterfly or if on condor.

Hey Mubin, at any time, as long as the market is open, you can sell your position to close it out - you do not have to wait until assignment. Most options, somewhere above 85% + are closed out and not assigned. Hope this helps. - George

Msft call option Sentiment : bullish Expires : march 25, 2022 (in 44 days) Transfer 158 contracts to strike price 330 (Meaning that by 25 march. The buyer believe that the stock price of msft will be higher than 330 right ??) $291 / contract Which means The stock price would need to be 332.91 for the buyer to break even 330 + premium (291/100) ?? So we are expecting price of msft will be up over 333 by March 25? Is that how we read this ??

I was looking to get familiar with the IBKR trading platform. Unfortunately your video was so over the place it turned out to be useless. Start from basics, take a clear example and explain it step by step until you have a position open. The word academy has no place in the nickname if you can't actually give a coherent explanation to someone already familiar with options on other platforms.
interactive brokers GUI is like a C program.
It's probably assembler, C is too much credit. LOL.
Can we trade emini futures after hours with this IB account ? - How I can verify that I do have that previledges.
I have had nothing but bad experiences with Interactive Brokers. Their platform is expensive and unstable. I've lost thousand of dollars on options scalping and swinging because of unreliable access and technical difficulties. Their customer service is sub-par and overall a bad experience. Wish I had never tested them out.
Hey Brian, I'm sorry to hear that man, and I know exactly where you're coming from. I've had some rough experiences also, and now mainly use the platform for longer term holdings and not active trading. A few of our traders on the team use it to scalp and day trade, but these days technology is evolving so fast and there are much better options out there.

This video is as chaotic, disorganized, and poorly structured as the platform's user interface! Seriously, 5:30 and it's still random waffle. Please do a step-by-step walk-through of how to set up put and call options on your platform. Hung in there until 7:40 but my options chain window is blank, doesn't matter which day range I choose, it's blank.

I never got past 5 minutes in this video. i became increasingly irritated hearing how "great" and "super" and 'Impressive" and "easy" this platform is. If all this is true, Victorio should be able to show us without constantly saying so. This presentation is so poor it immediately turns me off.

User friendly?! I have a Ph.D. In science and I’m pretty decent computer programmer and yet I’m at a loss with the monstrosity that This tool is.
Facts I am Canadian so I am forced to use it all other brokers charge an arm and a leg because canada is in the stone ages with commission fees but if your American I recommend thinkorswim my cousin uses it in the states and tells me about it around the fire pit as I tell him horror broker stories in canada like how wealthsimple doesn’t have a US dollar account so you have to pay conversion fees every time you want to buy American stocks
Constructive feedback: you read the menus until approx 5mins in. Then you pick a complex options pair trade as a first example. Probably pick a simple example and go straight to it.

TWS is so slow no matter what computer you have. It's simply dated technology. Gordon Gekko used it back in the 80's.
Yep, i found in its settings it defaults to allocate about 700 megs or memory, i upped it to 2048, it started to run faster., but still, its a nightmare fuel ugly slow in general
It is very frustrating to use as takes so long to learn even simple trades. They must hear this all the time yet don't simplify it.

Without this type of strategy, you probably won't know what worked or why it worked and even if you did, it would be hard to repeat therefore for you need a perfect mentor to teach you perfectly to enable you invest and trade accurately on your own, which i highly recommend you Mr Hercules He guides me with the exact time frame to trade and now I just received my first withdrawals of $30k in my bank account today I'm very happy, my advice is for you to contact him he will guide you perfectly well, and thank me later, I guess this is a good way to show my heartfelt appreciation for literally breaking the chain of my financial debit when I needed it most, you can contact him on his email 📧

We gonna focus on options in this video...5 minutes later still discussing everything but options...My theta thermometer is running low with the amount of waffle in many of these videos.
This is just a continuous loop of stating how user friendly IB is while not showing or explaining anything having to do with options. This video and certainly IB is not user friendly.

Could u pls explain "realised/unrealised P&L" display on the IB platform (under >classic TWS>Account), for their demo? i did one trade with options, when unrealised P/L was shown as positive (profit) but when i closed my position, realized P/L still showed zero - i was expecting there would be profit in "realised P/L" column? or does the demo account not post any profits at all due to being demo account?
and finally - does the demo account have the same data as real market (i dont mean timewise, demo can be lagging). if my demo account shows profit, would i have the same profit had i done trade at the same prices in real life?

Not sure why it's $0 but unrealized P/L is before commission.. so after closing a position you will see a drop in realized Profit

Once you have defined your strategy, you have the possibility to either sell or buy that strategy. What is the difference? In this case you have a long & a short call. What is the effect of buying this set up and what is the effect of selling it? Thanks

Hello, I cannot seem to find the weekly options for index options like SPX and RUT, I can get them for any other equity option chains but just not for index options, any idea how to resolve this?
Seems like IB paper only fills options on bid & ask. This makes it really hard to get real practice. Anyone know a way around this? Is there a way to get a better fill (ie on mid)?

Having a hard time deciding between IB and Tastyworks..
Tastyworks is probably cheaper to trade with but doesn’t have a paper trading facility.
