The Kosin collection features super 8mm railroad films photographed by the late George Naugle of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
The collection highlights the Anthracite Railroads over the mountains, into the Wyoming Valley and beyond in the last few years of operation and into the beginning of Conrail. Many rare Wyoming Valley locations are captured in the Ashley and Wilkes-Barre areas.
Volume 1 covers action just north of White Haven through the Wyoming Valley, with scenes in Sayre, PA
Narrated with commentary by Mike Bednar
Color; approximately 65 minutes run time

These are the very best train videos ever . I love that Mike knows everybody and all the track rights .
Mike's commentaries are very genuine. These collection previews definitely have a "home movie" vibe and they aren't super polished with obnoxious background music and an over-enthusiastic narrator.
Enjoy watching these old ones,better than the modern ones.

Finally!! More local film, shame it is later on but hard to find any film of the Wyoming valley that isn’t completely deteriorated.
The narrator sounds like a lawnmower but I love how he makes these films seem more personally because who knew all the railroad workers and refers to them by name.

Wish I had a dollar for every hour i spent as a kid watching the crews at PC's Fort Wayne Indiana Yard classifying cars down the hump! Today all gone, and the area so sketchy I'd probably be shot.

Wish there was film/video of the Erie Lackawanna operations of the Bloomsburg branch from bridge 60 interlocking southward into its namesake town name Bloomsburg/Ruperts Reading yard where the EL passed thru on its way downriver to Northumberland!

Interestingly enough, I have an Atlas Trainman HO scale lettered for the Union Pacific with that same slogan on it.
What was that part about the cop with a watch and arresting the train master??? Was a bit tough to understand.

Light side = empties, heavy side = loads. Yard is more than likely Sayre yard or Allentown yard
