Kohei Horikoshi originally wanted Bakugo to be the cool best friend to Deku, but found that making him an extremely hostile version of the classic anime rival was more interesting. Horikoshi *did* however, think Bakugo was *overly* hostile in the first chapter and regrets it, particularly when he told Deku to kill himself. Bakugo *does* mellow out considerably over time but many fans understandably have not forgiven him for both his general behavior and his actions in the first episode.

He gets better past season one and you start to understand how he operates and why, which makes him an interesting and likable character to me. A great antagonistic Deuteragonist

First season is pretty solid though at least. either way glad to see you trying things out and hope you enjoy it more than me but it just didn't grab me and the fandom for sure turned me off to not watch more seasons around late season 2/3ish.
