In this video we get to see all unlockables for WWE 2K17. This comes via a fully unlocked "Virtual Currency" store, in which you spend your VC in this year to gain unlocks. Unlocks include things such as superstars, arenas and championships. This is the "VC Purchasables" in WWE 2K17.
This video is part of my early and exclusive WWE 2K17 gameplay videos that I recorded at a WWE 2K event recently. There will be a variety of WWE 2K17 gameplay videos from now until release.

So, it's like the old games(example: WWF No Mercy) where you actually earn in-game currency(and not buy it with real money) and use it to unlock various characters(or just use the Accelerator and put the VC to whatever else it could go to).

this is stupid. I want to play a universe but I dont have a lot of the wcw guys unlocked in order to do my wcw universe. So now I am forced to buy or play exhibition matches until I get enough. A story or showcase mode is needed! I dont even want to do my career yet because I wanted to use Razor Ramon or HBK for it lol

Random question & sorry if this sounds dumb, but say that I don't want to have to go through the hassle of going through matches. Does accelerator still unlock everything to play right away?
I like this, it'll be like the old games where you had to use VC to unlock legends.
I think they got almost everything we want this year! I hope next years focus will be on match types and customization. I'd like to see the parking lot backstage brawl and like up the stairs and in the street. Also match types could be I quit, stretcher, ambulance, Inferno (I really liked that match), buried alive, special ref, triple threat tag team, etc. I'd also like to see thumbtacks. For creation, I wanna see a Halo 3 forge like Match creator where you can save your own matches, create a finisher, create a story, and a create a backstage brawl. I think that would make the perfect game :)
Why is Capital Punishment 2011 even in the game?
Because it was the best wwe ppv of all time.
The PPV sucked but the set design was really nice
It's up there with December To Dismember, Battleground 2013 and WrestleMania IX as one of the all time greats.

So glad to see this back in the game after SvR '08. This NEEDS to be here more often in WWE games, if only they added the DLC to the VC Store...I don't know about you guys, but I'm TIRED of paying $80 for the game and the DLC altogether. I'm sure we ALL would like to get the DLC this way and save ourselves $25.
Thank god, WWE games have kept their integrity, with good unlockables, and not making everything DLC. Games are like chalkboards nowadays, and you have to pre-order the board for the eraser, unlock the white chalk, buy the red chalk for $4.99 then the slightly darker red for $5.99, but if you got the Season Pass for $25 you'd have the primary colors plus the black chalk as a PS4 exclusive

They're not in the game. The two titles in the Universe Mode blog yesterday were made in the Creation Suite.

How do you use the accelerator? Do i have to have an internet connection or something? Because my internet is shit, and how do i download it?
Its a purchasable dlc in the store, you need both internet and money on your account
will the virtual currency store be available for ps3 in the game or do I get screwed ? anybody know what mode is exclusive to ps3 since it don't have a career mode like the ps4 version does?

I hope it doesn't take long to unlock everybody. Took me about two days of playing 2k16 and finishing the objs.
I have a feeling these unlockables will cost a ridiculous amount of VC just to get people to buy the accelerator... I hope not, though.

Its just because I do a universe mode on my twitch broadcast and even do a royal rumble match when I get the game. I want to have these wrestlers right at the start so I can go ahead and begin it.

You'd think they would have fixed some of the legends faces by now. Andre looks the same at 2k15, but looked 10 times better on the ps3/360 version. Still buying the game but rehashing all these guys seems to make one think skip it, and get next years as they will just put in all the dlc again...and not change any of the models.

One huge thing they need to fix in WWE2K** on pc is the online stuff needs to be available for it until one or two months before the next pc version is released. Complete b.s. how the pc users get screwed yearly with WWE games.
We wait until just before WrestleMania for our new game that consoles get in October and then we lose our online functions of the game 1-2 months later. Bullshit 2K Sports and you need to fix it now.

But no, you can earn VC by playing matches, so you don't have to pay to unlock things, if you don't want to.

I used both of them in early 90's WCW Universe last year, although Bam Bam wasn't actually in WCW at that time. The rest of the people I used for it were though, like Van Vader, Cactus Jack, and Sting.
