Gloria's character was paramount to getting Jay to accept Mitchell and Cam's relationship, and getting him to be such a fleshed out character. I loved her throughout the entire series because she was often the voice of reason and actually said things we were thinking as an audience, but did it through her accent and misunderstanding of things that are so normalized in U.S. American culture. One of the best characters of modern sitcoms, for sure
Sofia Veraga is such a treasure! Gloria and Jay have one of the most loving relationships depicted in moder sitcoms, with their large age gap never being an issue for them, and her always supporting Manny and Joe.
Personality… loud, outspoken, and feisty. Gloria knows what she wants and how to get it. She is good-natured, fun-loving, and compassionate, but also extremely prideful and at times manipulative.😄😄😄😄
She doesn't get what she wants by working, though. She's meant to be a modern woman in a modern sitcom. She's young & healthy, so why doesn't she have a job? Being a trophy wife isn't an occupation or profession.

And interestingly, that camera angle was also used in the 2015 drama film "See You In Valhalla" (which stars Sarah Hyland!!) when the gang discovers the stolen body of their late brother from the morgue in the back of the car.

Not sure I can think of ten, but I want Ms Mojo or somebody to review all the times Claire was an evil or jerkish character. Most of these moments happened in seasons 6-8 and 10 (and maybe 11, but I don't remember). I know that sounds harsh, but seriously, she's the one who inexplicably smiles at the thought or mention of death. What do you expect?
I ♥️ gloria and Sofia Vergara in general. I named one of my barbie dolls after her. First name is Sofia and middle name is Gloria after her character on this show. So it's Sofia Gloria. She is my little bundle of joy 🤗💕
Someone like Jay would never choose a histrionic partner. He wants a quiet life, so it makes no sense for him to choose her. Even if he was attracted to her initially due to her looks, he'd be repelled by her anger & demands.
You do realize the show is basically Married with Children with a diverse cast, right? They are supposed to be at odds with each other. It goes along with his growth as a person by the end.
She actually had some jobs Once she opend her own business of producing and selling homemade tomatoe sauce based on her grandmother’s secret recipe stolen from her sister Around i believe seasons 6, She devolved an issue about not feeling satisfied enough being only a housewife and she developed an interest of becoming an Real estate agent like Phil. So he hired her as his assistant so she can learn the skills and a couple episodes later she made her real estate agent license, and if I remember correctly, she actually partnered up with Phil but then the show writer’s have become pretty inconsistent of involving these plot line more often in later Episodes and seasons
She shouts more than all the other characters put together. Not only does she become ridiculously angry over petty things, she sometimes shouts when she's not angry & there's no cause to. Only Jay says anything about her shouting & even then only a couple of times.
