That trick about focusing when shooting video is so helpful. Excited to try that out. I always struggle to keep focus. Really great stuff.

An oldie but a goodie haha, not the best video, but some solid tips that still apply! I filmed my next Surf Photography/Videography video this past week. I'll be putting it out in the next couple weeks & I have a few others scripted with a big light incoming and teleprompter to make filming/editing faster! Hoping I can get more out quicker this way!

That was a really cool video. Thanks for sharing.... I like your idea of keeping focus on infinity then letting go for auto focus/tracking. I shoot into the sunrises typically so I am going to try your method. Thanks.....

Crazy wave but on days like this it looks pretty chill to shoot. Does it get hectic with currents when its bigger?

The hardest part for most people is getting to the break through the really strong waves and rip, especially with a camera. We move slower than surfers so we feel that current a lot more and that's where most people get in to trouble if they aren't strong enough swimmers. Then the same is true on the way in and you'll get ripped down the beach.
Otherwise, it's mellow 80-90% of the time out there, but on the swinging sets, things can f you up fast.
