Ya man, first live PhIsH I heard and saw was the S set in Denver. They bring a beautiful positive vibe to their concerts and sometimes I have to remind myself that I have to bring the positive and forget about worrying about the less and less in life and reality. It must feel good for them that they still rock with original members and continue to write new music that blows their fans away. The good ole days are awesome to remember cause we were young and things were so new and fresh, the present is cool as well cause we can be the change we want to see in our world. That Alpharetta DWD jam is outrageous (had to check the setlist...sounds like an Antelope jam at 55 minutes into this mix). Gets absolutely filthy at 59 minutes and that electro funk drop at 1:03 is fucking evil. I'm a nostalgic sap for 1.0 but they never made that sound in the 90s. Damn.
Me too. While there was nothing like 1.0, small rooms, high energy, shredfests, childish pranks, etc. However, the sound quality today is so much better, it is truly amazing. Well, I think it's just that Bob is the best melody guitar there has ever been and after 30 years accompanying Jerry, Bob does that role better than anyone alive and it was an absolute perfect and surreal experience to get to witness that in person. And that "Twist" jam was absolutely incredible with Trey and Bob.
I think Bob's contribution here and he and Trey's interaction was just exactly perfect, as Bob himself might have said. Also, when I've seen Trey play with other people, I sometimes feel like he lays back a bit too much, actually. That was definitely the case with the Fare Thee Well shows. I thought he did great there, but at times I wished he would have just let it rip a bit more. Easy for me to say, I suppose. I wasn't the one on stage with those dudes.
this is overwhelming. you are releasing "just jams" compilations faster than i can listen to them.
