Thank you for the video. Unfortunately, my top thread keeps breaking, even when the top tension is set to zero. I have cleaned and re-threaded numerous times but cannot sew more than a few inches without the thread breaking. If anyone has some insight, I would greatly appreciate it!
That's unfortunate to hear - but also a bit confusing. Seraflex has such a high tensile strength; thread breakage because of the tension is barely impossible. Please check your needle or change it and try a new one, that's the first thing that came us in mind - maybe an invisible needle burr may damage the thread. Have you used the recommended needle size? Best regards, the Mettler team
@@AmannGroupMettler Thank you for the response. I changed the needle but it is still breaking. I also did a little experiment and did some hand sewing with it; the thread breaks and shreds after a few inches of sewing. I also notice that it is really easy to snap the thread just by pulling on it which my usual, synthetic Gutermann thread does not do (and is, I am assuming, not normal). I have pictures of the the shredded thread and I can take a video of how easily it snaps by hand. I can send it to you, if that would help. Thank you.
Dear@@janedoe4737, since we have not had such a case so far, we kindly ask you to contact us via e-mail info@amann-mettler.com; I would like to continue the communication with you via e-mail. It seems that you received a faulty spool; which is an isolated case. Our threads are subject to the highest quality controls and Seraflex has been a very successful and popular thread for years without quality problems. Please also let us know in your e-mail from which dealer you bought this spool. Thank you very much.
Hello Ty Debna, we honestly do not see Seraflex as a serger thread - the purpose behind Seraflex is to undergo serging, as you get awesome elastic seams with a simple straight stitch. A double fold hem avoids fraying of sensible fabrics. Another point is the length of our Seraflex spools; normally 130m do not work that well for serging as you need quite a lot of thread for serging an entire piece of clothing. But nevertheless - we have heard of customers using it for serging and practically it also works - so you can absolutely give it a try if you want ;) But please use it for all needles; serging with one part Seraflex and one part Seracor/typical serging thread will not lead to the desired effect of an exceptionally elastic seam. Have fun with Seraflex!
I'm only 0:23 seconds in your video. First time on your channel, but PLEASE get a lapel microphone so your audience can adequately hear your speech. Thank you!
