The art is all fantastic but the amazing lighting really is the most outstanding feature of these spaces. Not just the way it influences the games atmosphere and feel but the way the physical light sources are incorporated into the architecture of the ships and buildings. Do they artists who started with degrees in interior design? It's just brilliant.
Access to Argo hangar is extremely inconvenient, which prevents movement of cargo from there. Ladders should be replaced with smaller stairs, or ladder wells should be expanded to enable movement of boxes between decks.
The bottom hanger is just for storing and deploying the Argo. The pad at the rear of the main hanger is the unloading bay for the Argo. (The rear pad is located next to the cargo elevator)
I’d love to know when we get the Apollo. The idea of having a mobile clinic is something I really like, and generally the idea of medical gameplay is something that appeals to me.
I love the Aegis ship designs, both exterior and interior. This Frigate will be quite the handful to operate solo... I'll do it anyway. :) Nothing quite like having a fortified mobile solo base. :)
Such a good work! Cannot wait to visit it when we can, it's like having a new map to play in a video game ! Be proud of yourself all members of the staff :)
Wish they would use the single small living quarters from the space station as crew habitats, maybe a bit smaller. would be great to have a more navy feeling in a ship
16:49 "We removed what would be the cross-frame (in the bridge forward viewport) which went across the front of the ship, so you get completely unobstructed views out into space..." Okay, great, so it _is possible_ that the Constellation class will *not* have to live with _multiple cross-frames_ completely ruining our ability to see where we're going forever??? 🤔
I like hearing that there will be a lot of decor and crew NPCs in such ships. Above all, I hope there are in-game systems to make sure you need a crew of players to make it work (so it is not just one person who paid 1000+ USD. To be clear, I disapprove of that monetization, but at least moderate it with game systems).
I'm no expert but i have a few points that i'd suggest: Many places are way too dimly lit, i'm ready to bet that people will keep their helmets on even during downtime just for the torch. Please have the Cargo lifts go all the way down to ground level when the ship is landed, it could save so many problems involved in lowering the main ramp every time. Those two extra rooms would make more sense to be assigned to the chief engineer and chief medical officer, i would suggest adding a small bunk room (like the one on the Carrack) for NCOs and pilots. There really needs to be a dedicated dropship that is small enough to comfortably land in the hangar (no, the argo doesn't count, and the Hoplite doesn't fit), otherwise the marines on board will get bored. Other stuff may come out as we get to know the Idris better, but these are the major things that come in my mind about the interior. I'll make these suggestions on spectrum as well, hoping that someone actually considers them. Thank you.
Lighting is likely incomplete (seeing as some areas were lit, and others weren't)... and lifts going to the ground floor don't make much sense on a ship that rarely lands (and it would have to weaken the exterior armour to allow the lift down that far)
Love that bridge. Bravo! It would be good to have the ship to play test it, there are concerns there is not nearly enough turret coverage below the midline horizon.
Servers wouldn't support it right now, they would melt. Having one is fair enough, but if it was widely available, there would be multiples spawned all over the place. Wouldn't be pretty lol. CIG have mentioned this multiple times. We really need at least the initial phase of server meshing to be functional to allow the bigger ships in without instantly 30K'ing the servers.

Don’t wanna give cig any more ideas but… areas with windows should be air-lock compartmentalised so that they can be depressurised in combat situations. Hope they have kept that in mind. Bc such big windows on a warship look very concerning to me. 😅
I'm convinced this event was more to the benefit of CIG than us. It's not like them to show a ship off in verse that isn't complete yet. I imagine they wanted this to study battle tactics and to help formulate the NPC responses to capital ship combat and boarding actions.
The ATC controller should have been a Bay style window to allow for the controller to see the entire landing space easily and be capable of opening and closing the bay doors.
I'd have preferred it to be somewhere towards the rear of the hangar on one side, with windows looking inside the hangar but also external to the approach to control landing craft
To be fair, a side one lets them see down both ways. Also, cameras (in real life) would assist the rest. Since it's not an aircraft carrier (with an open top), it's a little different. In Battlestar Galactica, they just controlled from the bridge (which had no windows at all). I guess they could have put a little pod up on top with 360 windows, but that obstructs the tunnel a bit.
You would think some of these Lessions wouldn't need to be learned if any of the people on these teams actually played video games. Yeah SC dose a lot of interesting new things but man there are some things that are just universal and can be predicted.
Love the video and the ship. A little disappointed in the event but I’m sure it’ll be better next time. Excited to see what the future holds. Please give a Zeus ISC :)
I would love to man an Idris for SC next time this event comes around. Purpose would be to give more opportunities for other players to capture it. Or make it an event where players can get access to a mission where they need to go pick it up and then it is fought over.

Elegant and Beautiful! Thank you CIG!
And I'm happy I Own an Idris K
The mention of titan mode and BF2142 @15:40 ... this is what i had hoped for with the idris/capital ship gameplay
Dude, the Lynch's Dune reference is felt. That music is epic.
1:27 😂
Guys, I love your crazy miniatures..))
Its a great ship but the event wasn't handled the way it should have been for maximum exposure.
@@user-wz2qu7yf9kmissed by a whole light year.
It is all good. They are testing a capital with interior on the verse to see if it is feasible. The Polaris will be released soon
Access to Argo hangar is extremely inconvenient, which prevents movement of cargo from there. Ladders should be replaced with smaller stairs, or ladder wells should be expanded to enable movement of boxes between decks.
Its for crew to get off the transport, not unload cargo
It's not meant for cargo.
The bottom hanger is just for storing and deploying the Argo. The pad at the rear of the main hanger is the unloading bay for the Argo. (The rear pad is located next to the cargo elevator)
If your doing cargo with the argo you would land in the main hanger and unload then store the ship back in the cargo hanger
So many people defending poor design. Lol.
I’d love to know when we get the Apollo. The idea of having a mobile clinic is something I really like, and generally the idea of medical gameplay is something that appeals to me.
Amazing, so excited for whenever I can walk aboard!
I love the Aegis ship designs, both exterior and interior. This Frigate will be quite the handful to operate solo... I'll do it anyway. :) Nothing quite like having a fortified mobile solo base. :)
But why would you spend all that ingame upkeep money just for a mobile solo base? Makes no sense and you will turn into a sitting duck.
Such a good work! Cannot wait to visit it when we can, it's like having a new map to play in a video game !
Be proud of yourself all members of the staff :)
Such a beautiful ship\design. Kudos to the team for such a fantastic piece of work in Star Citizen!
Thanks for all the hard work you two!!
How's squadron 42 supposedly complete in the act 1 if the Idris isn't?
Wish they would use the single small living quarters from the space station as crew habitats, maybe a bit smaller. would be great to have a more navy feeling in a ship
Thank you CIG for not giving us spoilers about sq42 with the idris and not making it flyable yet
16:49 "We removed what would be the cross-frame (in the bridge forward viewport) which went across the front of the ship, so you get completely unobstructed views out into space..."
Okay, great, so it _is possible_ that the Constellation class will *not* have to live with _multiple cross-frames_ completely ruining our ability to see where we're going forever???
😯 We need to see more ships with hulls removed. That view was amazing. CIG, can you do that will all new ships on ISC?
Gets me excited for the other capitals
I'm no expert but i have a few points that i'd suggest:
Many places are way too dimly lit, i'm ready to bet that people will keep their helmets on even during downtime just for the torch.
Argo 100% counts.
Jared always sounds like he’s bullshitting to backers by the order of RSI.
It's going to take a lot of training and dedication to be an effective engineer on such a massive ship. As it should be.
I think in all fairness it's tough to be able to plan an event when the players themselves are experts on exploits in the game.
How bout that!
Especially in case there is something rare and expensive to win, like in this event.
Awesome to see the inside, didnt get a chance with the event. Loved the hull removed view of the interior, woul be neat to see that with other ships.
"Inside Jared Huckaby" aw yeah.
Hey Jared, i know right. You're stuck inside Jared Huckabee and we are all there with you! 💜👾💜
If I only had that kind of cash for this ship! looks stunning!
The detail of this is crazy.
This makes me even more excited to get my Javelin one day :D its gnna be HUGE!
Give us a shout when you need crew 🙏 👍
@@ethantyler4711 definitely will! I had an org but everyone seems to have stopped playing so need to try and revive that nearer the time too! :D
@CaptainRumface or.. or.. tou can join the one I'm in? It's not mine but it is the biggest org in the game and biggest guild/org in the world. TEST Squadron. Simple form to fill just tell us about yourself and you are in. We have over 22 thousand members. I'll crew your Javelin and you can crew my Kraken, Polaris and Idris 👍

love the picoball that flies past at 3:50
Thank you.
Don’t wanna give cig any more ideas but…
areas with windows should be air-lock compartmentalised so that they can be depressurised in combat situations. Hope they have kept that in mind. Bc such big windows on a warship look very concerning to me. 😅
Supposedly, ship windows are supposed to be as strong as the rest of the hull, only transparent, in lore. Maybe diamond instead of glass?
So many questions, but thanks for some of the answers.
I really hope we'll see more capital class ships from Aegis and Anvil.
the man in the window at 7:05 killed me XD hahahaa
I'm convinced this event was more to the benefit of CIG than us. It's not like them to show a ship off in verse that isn't complete yet. I imagine they wanted this to study battle tactics and to help formulate the NPC responses to capital ship combat and boarding actions.
Great to see the Idris. Can't wait to see some Polaris greybox updates in the next months 😁
I loved Titan mode in BF2142. I'd LOVE to see a 'Titan mode' for Arena Commander!
I should've been able to do this myself. However, I digress.
The ship looks amazing and the team did an incredible job!
Great show ! I actually dreamed of this ship this night xD
"It's getting dark now John.." Brilliant. Oh my god, just brilliant.
"Inside Jared Huck..." xD
Thanks for the update CIG.
No one talk about the teaser for the next episode ? :o
Desert Wormhole :333
