That looked like a really good deal to me. I love visiting Scarborogh. Not a great view from the window but the room itself looked comfortable with a decent bathroom. Travelodge is pretty consistent and I have to say that breakfast was well worth the extra cost.
After a bit of digging, it looks like there is a comedy festival on over that weekend in June. ALL the hotel prices have shot up. Although it was great value at £25 I WOULDN’T pay £100 per night.
@@thegadaboutdad1057 Just checked and I'm wrong, always thought it was there from documentaries about him at the time, but it was over on esplanade, at the other side of Valley Road, the building just looks very similar.

I totally agree. I thought it wouldn’t be any good but it turned out to be a wonderful bargain!
You did well getting a double room for £25. I tried for the 29th of June and they wanted £120!
I went in Feb, definitely the ‘off’ season. It was still excellent value for money though.
No complaints from me!
Was there much to do in Scarborough in February?
Not an awful lot to be fair. Everywhere seemed to shut really early.

Any idea what they did with the swimming pool they had when it was the St Nicholas?
Sorry, I didn’t even know there had been a swimming pool! Could it have been where the dining area is? That was sort of recessed into the ground???
This is almost exactly where Jimmy Saville used to live. I'd be afraid it was haunted.
Well, I never knew that!

I’m going back to Scarborough next week and staying in a different hotel. I never realized that Saville lived in those parts.

That was a good deal mate, not bad value at all.
Agreed. I thought it was a fabulous deal!
Bargain for £25
I whole-heartedly agree!
