My guess would be that with the others all used to having human forms (it's the only form they ever had, you'd hope they'd be used to it) they know how to fall with a bit less pain inflicted on themselves, however Romeo, with him getting used to a completely human form, he doesn't have that experience yet

You need to give her The Bed so she stays behind and is saved because she is killing the mobs in the Oasis, but champion city will be destroyed if you dont give her the bed she will go to the Surface to end Romeo, by interrupting ''Jesse'' as he was about to destroy Champion City. But She dies in the Process.

It is not a big deal because Minecraft story mode is not focused on the characters dying during the game, it is very easy to keep them all alive, unlikely other Telltale games like The Walking Dead where is way too much deaths involved and it is impossible to keep everyone alive.
