    Enjoyed the video, made me think how thankful I am for your a-ha moment in Arizona, because you’re such an amazing doctor. Such a blessing to have been under your care!

    I would love to see a video on traction vs cervical weights and are there any situations where one is better over the other, would also love to see a follow up on Derrick your previous patient

      Hi Pit Terrier! I as a patient have experienced both. When I had cervical traction on a table my instability symptoms worsened. Instability in my case is being caused from a bad car wreck that injured my ligaments. I feel that it made them more lax. The cervical weights are able to be placed more precisely instead of just pulling up on the entire neck from both sides like with table traction. Table traction was ordered to open up the bones to allow for pinched or trapped nerves to have more space to alleviate pain and I believe that it works to do that, but each case is different and has to be evaluated. Trying to give general answers to medical conditions for one treatment over another might persuade a person to bypass a treatment that might work well for them, or it might hurt them. Each case needs careful consideration and assessment. Hope that this helps!

      @@juleegino2158 Did you only undergo curve correction? Or did you also need prolotherapy or pro also?

      @@ate317 I have undergone dextrose Prolotherapy by a Dr here in Missouri 9 rounds 50 to 60 injections each round several years ago but it did not stabilize me. I wish that I could afford to go and visit Dr Hauser at Caring Family Medical as he seems to have alot of knowledge about stabilizing CCJ Instabilities. I did speak with him a couple of years ago and told him of my Prolo with the Dr here and he said that it sounds like the Dr that did mine here in MO was not aggressive enough with the treatment and I can understand how this might be the case. (This doctor btw is now retired and helped many with Prolotherapy when he added it to his family practice services.) I have also had PRP Platelet Rich Plasma a couple of times and stem cell treatment, both of which helped with the whiplash damage but did not stabilize me.

      @@juleegino2158 I understand, it is definitely tough with very few doctors doing prolo. Did you have any findings with X-rays and also did you do any type of upper cervical chiropractic care?

      @@ate317 I have had xrays to verify that my C1/2 fusion was successful that I had here in St Louis 3 years ago, and it was, I fused successfully, but it did not stop my Instability. I have had many xrays over the years that show that my neck curvature (lordosis) is straight and it is supposed to have a curve like a banana looking at it from the side, along with various issues arising from Instability and loss of curvature such as bone spurs, stenosis (narrowing of areas where nerves come out of), pain, need for constant upper cervical care, etc. Yes, I have had to have weekly to sometimes 2 to 3 times weekly upper cervical care since I have been in my early 20s and I went through a windshield head first. Their knowledge and care has literally kept me alive. For many years I have sought care from numerous Doctors that can help me heal this Instability...it is very painful and debilitating as anyone that has it knows. Most Neurosurgeons will tell you that they can find nothing wrong with you, (most people with Instability have experienced this) I believe because they lack the skill of palpating a patient. Feeling your neck, skull, bones and tissues with their hands where they would feel the bulging of your skull in places when the bones have rotated and locked and see and feel the bones that stick out from behind my ears that normal people do not experience or have. They usually order the same test, which is a laying down MRI of the neck and it shows that nothing is wrong in your neck, other than the bone spurs, stenosis, etc. I did finally have a Neurosurgeon here that was honest with me and told me that he did not learn how to palpate a patient in medical school and that they were taught to solely rely on imaging results. Diagnosing CCJ Cervico Cranial Junction and C1/C2 Instabilities seems to be a major hurdle for most Doctors, but I am hoping that this will change with Doctors like Dr. Hutcheson and Dr. Hauser leading the way to educate and treat this horrible affliction. A Neurosurgeon was finally able to get mine on film by doing an open mouth (odontoid view) x-ray where they asked me to bend my head sideways and touch my ear to my shoulder. This position shows the Instability usually, it is how they found mine finally. Hope this helps!

    Hi there Dr Hutceson,
    can you please tell whether a loss of lordosis effect the vagus nerve or brain stem e.g cause compression and if so how can we know, are there any signs? because ultrasounds or mris do not make no mention of it Could this be your next video just a suggestion off course Thankyou

    • @ccifund1844
      @ccifund1844 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's one of those answers of "It can" - depending on other factors. Generally yes, as many today have loss of curve and have "Something" wrong even if it's minor. However, when you toss in muscle tension, instability of joints, herniations, calcifications etc.... these indeed can. Not all nerves are easy to see all the time on Ultrasound.
      The brain stem has some stretching room, it's why the whole spine has to be looked at. But also the upper cervical under DMX
      Problem with "Vagus" nerve is that it can be compromised by Emotional, Chemical and Physical causes.

      It’s a pediatric rated fluoroscope. So the power setting is typically 2mA and ~65kVp
