Thanks for making this man. I had the same situation occur yesterday and I'm broke as hell so I was gonna go at it either way. This is going to help a ton. 🤜💥🤛
Thanks for the comment. Always glad to help out other "economically conscious" DIYers. But if you can't afford to do this twice, be sure you read the first few lines of the video description. I had to do it twice because I wasn't careful running the wires around the plastic supports inside the controller and one of them got severed when I snapped everything back into place firmly!
Thanks so much. I only had to watch up until 11:00 minutes because all I needed to know was how to get it opened. I dropped mine in water and wanted to see if it was dry enough before I charge it again. 👍
Oh no, that sounds like a debacle!!! One thing that I didn’t mention in this video is to check the fitment of the wires when you’re laying them down, before closing the controller up. Apparently one of mine got clipped by the little plastic reinforcing ribs, so I couldn’t turn left or right on my first flight and ended up having to do the whole process over again!
Dang, that sucks.. sorry to hear that. I already closed her up and did a test flight, but I could easily see how that would happen. Guess I'll eventually find out if a wire is pinched.
@@miken216 mine was apparent immediately. I sent my Mavic 3 up and then it wouldn't turn. Super bummer. On the bright side, I was able to do the whole replacement in 5 minutes the second go-round.
thanks for the video. I dropped my DJI RC 2 and the side popped open and wouldn't pop shut again. This helped my open it enough to realign what had moved and get it back to it's usually shape!
@@baker.richard glad to help! Hopefully you saw the edit to watch out for where your contact wires line up as I severed one of mine and rendered the new thumb stick useless 😓
@@Kuykenstuff I read it after I closed up so fingers crossed 😆 For me I didn't need to open very much to get things realigned. It was one of those ribs that keep the battery in place that had moved and it had bent somehow and was sat under the battery. I just got one of these and the battery needs replacing, this video made it so much easier to take apart and put a new battery in, I might put the video up of how I put the new battery in...
Cool man, glad to help. Please do put that video up, we need all the help we can to fix our own equipment! it's also just fun to shoot, edit, and create content on TH-cam, more fun than I anticipated.
Glad to help out! Be sure to check where the wiring is laying when you go to push the controller back together. I wasn’t careful and my connector got caught and ended up cutting through one of the wires and I lost all left/right input on my first flight. Ended up doing the whole operation a second time.
Thank you very much for your video Thanks to your video you can repair my control without having to change any part, my control constantly did not respond to the left lever, but thanks to your video I took it apart and realized that the lever coupling was loose and I was able to position it correctly and the matter was resolved . Greetings from El Salvador
You’re welcome! The guy in the Reddit comment didn’t really appreciate it 🤣 Anyways, I didn’t get a chance to video it, but you’ll want to be really careful with where you lay the wires down in the controller before you snap it back together. Somehow after this video, one of my wires got pinched and eventually cut and I lost all horizontal input from the new control stick. It was really strange and frustrating until I discovered the issue.
