This is one of the most interesting sourdough recipes on the web. Starter is really bubbly after one day, the other recipes for kefir starter i've seen go for three.
I wish you'd show the slicing and the crumb.

Excellent video!! Love that you kept it real, nothing in real life goes as smooth as we would like, especially with little ones around. 😅😉🥰🥰 That bread looked so tasty and crunchy, I will be trying this! Thanks for sharing with us! ❤😊

Just baking my first ever kefir sourdough. You are a star and make everything simple I’ve even got one step further and used wholemeal bread flour but have a second starter of all purpose (plain flour in the good old uk) if this doesn’t work ❤

Thank you so much for the video. I was doing it wrong making Kiefer Kiefer flatbread because I couldn’t get it to rise question do you keep the starter in your fridge and restart it or do you use all your starter and throw it away only once

Couple questions. Would it be ok to use all of the kefir starter instead of measuring the specific amount? What do you do with the discard? And do you recommend the Lekue? Thank you for the video!

Hi! You can use as much kefir as you want as long as the kefir and the flour are in equal proportions. You can continue to make bread as long as the starter is bubbly or use the discard for pancakes, waffles, pizza dough, cookies, and so much more.
I love the lekue! I've tried other brands and they don't hold up like the lekue. I also love the shape of bread it makes and the simplicity of just one bowl/pan. I have multiple lekue and bake several loaves at one time! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the detailed video 🙏How would this work with gluten free flour? Say like half rice, half oat blend?

I have never tried a flour alternative. If you try it, let us know how it works out!

Have you tried this with kefir from the store?

It does not work with store bought kefir.

I am using store bought Kefir, and after 24 hours, no bubbles. Only home made Kefir for this purpose? Thanks much.

It won’t work if it’s pasteurized

    Hello Kathryn,
Thanks for making this video a year ago. I just baked my first loaf of bread ever, following this video.
I do have one question. You were very detailed, but at the very end you miss saying how long to put it back in the oven (at reduced temperature).
I kind of quessed, and the center of my loaf was still dough! I'm doing another batch tomorrow morning. Thank you.

20 minutes, but you can always check the internal temp. It's done at 190 degrees
