Great review Aaron. This is a nice suv, neat styling and simply done. The engine sounds a gem and the car is reasonably priced compared to others. Suzuki reliability is first class so I might think about one in the future. My Tucson is very refined but it is a bit wide for many parking spaces here in NI.
Nice review! We have have one for nearly a year now and it is a brilliant car. And I say this as somebody who also has a BMW M3. One of the best 1.0l cars out there right now. Obviously Suzuki make brilliant motorbikes but they seem to have a slightly unknown reputation to most when it comes to cars. Currently this is quite useful because their cars are brilliant but I think are often much more competitively priced versus other cars due to people not knowing enough about Suzuki. Drove a swift sport a few years ago and that was a brilliant car too - reliable also according to the person who still has it and after 100 000mi of them driving it has replaced nothing but filters, brakes and oil.
@13:32 and there it is, that says its all, The 1.4 is much better and with 4x4 its make this SUV a far more complete package, not only for on road use but a also a decent mild offroad machine. Whats the use of getting a big car with a tiny engine just to say that I own a big car. Its about getting it balanced, the 1.2 is simply not enough, OK but not enough.
My 2017 MY 1.6 petrol manual Vitara is still such a great drive, reliable and way more fuel frugal than this 1.0 or the 1.4 engines. The regular mix of all round driving still returns mid 50's mpg which is as good or even better than some of the diesels I had in the past. Simpler may be best ultimately?
I had Swift with the same engine. Good car to drive but I couldn’t get the seat position right no matter what I did with it as my version didn’t have reach adjustment on the steering wheel. Wasn’t as settled on motorways as I was expecting so long journeys were tiring. The Vitara has better ride comfort, had the use of a 1.6 petrol allgrip version in Scotland a few years ago in winter, very good.
Thank you very much for this video. I have been thinking of getting either the 1.0 vitara or the 1.4 duster as my first car. Lately, I have been leaning heavily towards the vitara. Thanks once again.
If you are “mature”Ford RS2000 fast fords we’re 109bhp. 111bhp with a turbo for mid range grunt, I would say this is more than adequate. I’ve only driven the 1.4 booster jet and I think that’s too fast for the style of car it’s so effortless. Nice review. Horrid colour. Nice car. They don’t do these in SZ5 which has most of the goodies. You are the only reviewer to mention the steering? I found it wandered and was permanently correcting it. Electric power steering? But yes definately something there as you identify
Test drive the 1.0 it was limp I got the 1.6 petrol it’s not much better but slightly more up and go. Previous owned the diesel which was a mega engine and remapped it was quicker than the 1.4 but very rough compared
The interior has cheap feel about it. The plastic looks cheap. The vents are straight out of a Romanian made car. Very Dacia. It’s Japanese, so reliability shouldn’t be an issue. My nephew is waiting for his Vitara to be delivered soon.
@@CarObsession I m from sri lanka. I'm planning of buying this trim level. 1 liter bosterjet, from a local car sale. Two tone gold with black top. December last year I tested the 1.0lt vitara... It was a decent engine.... I recently got the 1.4 GL+ All Grip and I'm excited!
I have had one for a month now and it continues to delight me as I really get to know it. Not underpowered in my book.

Decent review, I’m surprised the co2 emission of 139 costing £170 to tax. I would have expected lower emissions for a small engine.

There is no 1.4 engine for Duster...
Great review, as ever, Aaron. I've heard it's a great engine in the Swift and Baleno - 50mpg in a fair chunk of car like the Vitara is excellent.

Wow, that's quite some compliment! Thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback.
Absolutely great little car,drives smashing.
What a shame that it only has a five speed gearbox! So many other positives, though, and definitely one of the better cars in the class.
Yeah, but by no means is the five speed manual a deal-breaker. Thanks for watching Joseph.
Yes, it's like the five speed manual in the MG ZS 1.5. Both cars are so reasonably priced that you sort of let them off, don't you?
I have a Swift with this 1.0 Boosterjet and love it.
Yeah, it's a decent engine 👍🏽 Thanks for watching Jaime.

Can this 1.0 litre have all-grip option.
Yes, it can, although it's worth meaning this engine is no longer available with brand new Vitaras. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment.
Would the 1L petrol automatic be too slow/lose power on steep hills? I need an automatic that has enough oomph!
In all honesty, I would have thought so, especially if you have passengers/luggage in the car. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for your honest reply, it's very useful. :)

Hello Fawad, thanks for watching. I've not driven the 1.6 so I can't make any comparisons I'm afraid.
Similar mileage but surprisingly quieter. And the 1.0 feels much more responsive in the low range, which is rather obvious in a turbo engine.
