Frank was in awe of Vic Damone's voice - he was honest about it, which goes to show the largesse and class of the man.

I was born in the 80’s and I love him. He has such a beautiful voice. Now my kids listen to him as well! I love that era of music.

Frank stopped to watch me box at the National Golden Gloves in Atlantic City in 87. He was yelling “ get em blue.” That made my childhood. R.I.P Chairman of the Board.

Hey Scott - thanks for this video. My father lived in Hoboken for several years and delivered papers as a kid. One of his customers was Mr. & Mrs. Sinatra. He said they "were nice, but never, EVER gave me a tip"! Cool to see the streets where my father (and Frank) traveled.

My Grandfather's childhood home. There used to be a bar that my grandfather owned called Lisa's Tavern. I remember as a kid we would go and visit him at the bar and then go to my Great Grandmother 's home, eat a big Italian meal (I wouldn't because I was a picky eater,) and then we will go to my grandparent's house and eat another big meal and it will be a Irish meal and tons of it . And I or my siblings would get cranky because it was a long day and then go home. The last time I was in Hoboken was over a decade ago. My grandfather was the one I told you that had a run-in with Vito Genovese. The Tavern my grandfather owned is no longer there. Very interesting video. And yes, parking is a pain there.

I grew up listening to his music being played at my Nana's house, and I now have all of my Nana's Frank Sinatra Records. His daughter Nancy ( who is 83 yrs old, almost 84 now ) currently lives in Palm Springs, CA and her father is buried there.

I remember I met Frank Sinatra once. We passed in the hall at MGM Studios. He looked at me and said, "Get out of my way, punk."
An old Frank Sinatra joke, but still works. Great job today.

Thank you for doing this video!! I'm a huge Sinatra fan. I was young when he passed in 1998 but I'll never forget it. Love all of his music. I wish I met Ol' Blue Eyes. Thank you for being so cool to do a story of The Chairman of the Board. One of my favorite videos of yours. His favorite restaurant was Patsy's in NYC. He loved the room upstairs. I went to a Sinatra dinner there with the Pit Boss. 😊

Yeah and amazingly, someone (cough, cough, her) smashed his stone and had a new one placed there, all because she didn’t like Barbara. I also am friends with a lady who worked for his entourage and she said she was a real b to her as well. But, at least she keeps his music alive on Siriusly Sinatra on XM radio.

Shortly after Frank Sinatra died in 1998 on May 14th, a guy named Bobby De Lafave went to Home Depot and purchased a pallet of bricks and drop them off in the abandoned lot where Sinatra was born and was selling the bricks for 10 bucks claiming that they were the original bricks for the building that was knocked down in 1970. Frank Sinatra also grew up on Garden Street in Hoboken between 8th and 9th street. They have a star in front of lepore's chocolate on 6th and Garden Street in honor of Sinatra. He also used to shine shoes at my grandmother's Bar Annes Tavern when he was a teenager.

Frank Sinatra was a great singer, actor (I love the MGM Musicals) and back in the early 80s, my parents had a boat that they docked in Mystic, CT. One weekend, my Dad wanted to visit another marina so we drove over to it, I believe it was the Mystic River Marina - Frank & Barbara were there on a very large boat (owned by the owner of the Chicago Black Hawks). Frank saw my Dad and came out and said hi and they talked for a while, Barbara waved from the boat and actually stepped out for a bit too. It was an incredible day, I have a photo in one of my old photo albums, now I have to find it again!

At about 12:10 is where the famous fight scene took place in the 1954 Academy Award winning movie "On The Waterfront" between Johnny Friendly (Lee J. Cobb) and Terry Malloy (Marlon Brando). As a point in fact, the entire movie "On The Waterfront" was filmed in Hoboken which through the early 70s had 3 piers (Piers A, B, and C) where ships were loaded and unloaded daily, as well as the Holland American line (through about 1960).

Literally, where a star was born. It's funny how I hated this kind of music when I was a kid but grew to love it more and more the older I got. Now, when I hear it, I immediately remember my parents and especially my mom. All the ladies loved him back in those days. My mom told me she was a distant cousin of his wife Nancy Sinatra. She never made a big deal out of it, just mentioned it now and then. It was so cool to see all of these locations! I love Fly me to the Moon and of course Chicago lol. Now I want to go listen to some of his songs. What a legend! .... btw, yes, I looked it haha

This was really interesting. I never used to like his kind of music, but in the last few years, I have come to appreciate and enjoy it more. One of my favourites is Witch Craft. If only buildings could talk, I bet they could tell a few stories. if memory serves me correctly, it was one of his you visited in a video with Steve and friends of his parents or grandparents lived in that house after Frank?
