Rebecca, watching this, I was nearly jumping out of my seat in frustration. I’ve used pattern keeper as well, but for this I would have used my tablet as a frisbee by now if I were you! LOL!! Like you, I’m all for trying new things, but it’s pattern keeper all the way!! 😂😂
I give you a hand for doing this comparison, markup and pattern keeper. I might not a have been so patient with the miss haps while working with the Markup program. I believe I will be sticking with Pattern Keeper. Thank you for sharing these comparisons with us.😊❤
Hi Rebecca I had a numbered canvas when I worked on my large HAED & worked with pattern keeper. To me it was helpful that the format of the canvas was basically a replica of what I was seeing on my tablet screen so I could very easily follow where I was. I was looking at like for like and that made my brain very happy. I remember last time I think you picked up how pattern keeper worked, very quickly compared to how this is going. Pattern Keeper also had a function where once all the colours in one square was done you pressed the screen and you were able to save all those as being done and then those squares reverted to a solid color. Even for me as a 64 year old whose is techno challenged I figured out how to work pattern keeper with help from yourself and watching other you tube videos. Pattern Keeper all the way I say!
Hitting pause. I think it’s time to take a coffee break and add some liquor to it 😂 The suffering is just too real 😂 I appreciate you “taking one for the team (Team Zesties)”! ❤❤❤
hi Rebecca, I've been using Markup for about 2 years now. you can change the level of opacity of your marked symbols in settings. you can also set if you would like to see the symbol underneath the one you've placed if you'd like. also, you can change the colour of the symbols that you have selected to work on next, I do this so that its easier to see the symbol that I'm working on. hope this helps. there are also some nice TH-cam videos on how to use markup, that I found very helpful when getting started. I didn't have the option of using pattern keeper because I've already got an iPad and simply couldn't justify buying another tablet for a single app.
I use markup and I pay yearly. It was cheaper for me to pay £17.99 for the app than pay however much for an android tablet. But I’ve recently got an android so I might give pattern keeper a try.
I’m starting my first x-stitch conversion (not from HAED) and using Mark-up, since I have an iPad. It’s working perfectly, after I adjusted the “transparency” of the done stitches. I also think I paid an yearly fee, not too high. But I do understand that once you’re familiar with and app or software, and it works well for you, it’s very hard to change. I live my Apple devices and can’t work easily with an Android one when “needed”. 😅 Wishing you the best!
God bless you, Rebecca! I think you've given it a good go with Markup, and it's time to go back to Pattern Keeper. 😂 Unless there is a setting in Markup that allows you to adjust the completed squares, I vote you go back to PK. Save yourself some headache, especially since you are also dealing with a different canvas with numbers that it seems you have to factor in as well.
I have had a go with mark up and compared with pattern keeper it doesn’t come close. Pattern keeper is the best app I’ve ever used. I do have iPads but I bought a Samsung tab A which I purely bought for pattern keeper. I e had it 5 years now and it’s brilliant
Hi Rebecca long time watcher, dont comment much but have to say watching you not use pattern keeper was weird as ive watched you use before...its a no to the new mark up xp from me..could hear your frustration😂...pattern keeper for the win...thanks for all u do
Hi I have a brain freeze , this wip and waffle was driving me bananas because while I was diamond painting I had to look up so many times to see what was going on , I usually don't make any comments but oh my i had to say something, Rebecca back to pattern keeper please I will come charge your tablet for you 😂❤❤❤❤. Can't wait to go back to normal Thursdays with pattern keeper and I use Evermoment blank canvases and I love them Have a great weekend.
Comment#2...I feel bad that I'm working on my custom using PK without a care in the world while you're struggling with Markup. 😢 I do know that there are settings in PK that allow you to change the look of the squares once you complete them. I don't blame you for charging up that Android! 😂
Hello Rebecca! i just got a notification that I got a bade for being a founding member. That's awesome thank you so much. Now how do I use it? LOL This entire process of conversions terrifies me and confuses me beyond measure. My question is... why do you need to do any kind of conversion when they give you the chart to use on pattern keeper and the drill inventory sheet to order your drills off of? What role does that play in the process? I would totally do it if i could just buy the chart canvas and drills.
Nothing can beat pattern keeper. By the way, where did you purchase the other blank canvas (the cheaper one)? Would like to restart my huge HAED and the price did sound good to me
Hi hope you and your family are well. Would you please tell me were you got the diamond for this painting. A friend of mine got a painting at a yard sale but it did not come with diamond And how much are they. If there are a lot do you know of a cheaper place. I gave her diamond from my extras. So she can get started. Thank so much for all the help you do for us zesties.
The pen resting on the tray before you picked it up made me think that the tray was split and was messing with me head couldn’t figure out that is the pen.
on the markup FAQ - it says "The Markup R-XP annual subscription currently costs £14.99 (plus any local sales tax) after a 14 day trial period. This is a recurring subscription and less than the price of a kit or a few skeins of thread for a whole years access to the app!" --- so, it's a yearly subscription.
And this is why I will not attempt to do a blank canvas diamond painting. So sorry for your struggles. It was truly painful to watch. I hope this project goes smoother once you switch back to Pattern Keeper.
Markup doesn't come across on the screen as clear as PatternKeeper. I may be biased as I'm not an Apple fan. I have not completed a haed project. But as a viewer PatternKeeper is much easier to see. Good luck Rebecca
This looks painful. I was hoping that markup would get a goood review so that I could use it for the chart2art canvases, but since it’s problematic I’ll just do them the old fashioned way with paper charts.
i cant tell on the app when you tick them off not sure if its me but color difference might not be picking up on the camera. where with your pattern keeper videos the symbols turned into the color of the diamond which made it much easier to follow along with you Edit: The black one can be seen but there are so many pale colors in this painting i think you will br frustrating yourself on something you have to keep paying for

I use Pattern Keeper for my cross stitch and it’s the best 🤗
🥳 yay for Starting the new HAED Painting. Looking forward to your progress next week and how long it'll take.

Thank you for a great video. Is B5200 available thru ever moment? And is it B5200? Color chart calls it snow white. Thank you do much!

🥰
Maybe use pattern keeper. It seems to be more user friendly
The pen resting on the tray before you picked it up made me think that the tray was split and was messing with me head couldn’t figure out that is the pen.
You can adjust the settings for how dense the colours are
