Thank you so much, I was using "4" instead of 4, etc. and had no idea that impacted vlookup (and hlookup, which I was using at the time, but vlookup is more popular)
To those who are still getting an Error message: VLOOKUP does not work between different types of data (extract a fiscal period if you look up its reference date). The DGET function helped me in this case. Look up DGET tutorial videos, and you can add 'sheet name' (and hide the tab if you wish).
Thanks very much!!!! I really appreciate this video as I wasted too much time trying to figure out whats wrong!, turned out there was a hidden decimal I wasn't aware off!! Thanks again!
Im surprised you are not getting more than100k likes for this great tutorial. You explain it well and to the point. Keep to this style.. Another possitive feedback is you zoom it enough to be readable unlike some others. I dont why why anyone would thumbs down on this
on my laptop, the comma that is between the cells are appearing as dots and the cells colors (like C11 in blue in 0:31) become just black. How to fix it and is effecting vlookup function cause i cant use vlookup. Please help me
I have clearly mentioned two workbooks. Two different workbooks are already opened and I am trying to VLookUp there I have selected Lookup value in one workbook then for look array I switch to another workbook but the VLook function is not showing in another workbook. Can someone help me with that?
Thank you. This was very helpful. I could not understand why my lookups where not working. The length was the issue. I also learnt a new formula from you - trim.
Thank you so much for your valuable tutorial. I used the same formula that works fine but the 2nd time, it did not return the expected results. It was because of the data type I need to convert the same. Subscirbed & definately liked 👍
This was excellently explained in simple words: How to fix the common errors specially with use of LEN and TRIM function was very helpful. YOu have exceuted the video in very easy to understand language. God bless you!!
a big issue solved , thank you very much for the help, i am seeing only 4 in the selected cell for the name and with len function its 10 , manually changed name, and the issue solved , thanks alot for the video
THANK YOU SO MUCH, MADAM! YOU ARE MY SAVIOR! I can't believe I found this video and figured out my problem doing vlookup. Once again, thank you very much!
Hi Caripros, I've been struggling with Vlookup not working for a large file, and recreated one smaller with fewer columns. I've followed your recommendations and ensured that all the data is the same format, but still no luck. Please help. I can send you file I created if you'd like to take a look and see what I'm doing wrong?
Hi, thank you so much for this video very helpful. Is there any other reason one might still be getting #N/A in exact match VLOOKUP, I tried all the options you provided but I am still having trouble getting the exact match to work while leaving that cell empty always returns a value but I need to be sure which is why I am hung up on the exact match error.
Hi Joyce - Have you checked my other video that discusses more vlookup errors? it's th-cam.com/video/pIbaHjyGt1g/w-d-xo.html&list=PLLBzkESv1Bg4oKfbybcMIi4PeV00CYcJR&index=7 Let me know if still not working! Hope it's helpful!
I have a question😊 How can we put parentheses around one number in cell ( only one cell)using a one keyboard shortcut? Instead of using shift key + “(“ to open the parentheses and shift key + “)” to close the parentheses. Thank you:)
Hi Anaruz, you raised a very good question. It never occurred to me as I have always been using this typical method, but I do know that for some programming language, you are able to input "(" and "()" will auto-populate and it is better than the manual input to prevent formula error. So I then searched online and multiple sources confirmed that no, Excel does not have such function or shortcut. (answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macexcel/excel-shortcut-for-brackets-in-a-formula/bf59b8e6-7622-4f40-b7b0-13bf5c69827c?auth=1) ...Although you may use custom keystroke or auto-correction to make "()" appear in an Excel cell, but it is really not more productive in any way as I tested. This is all that I know now. If you find some more creative solution please let me know! =P
I have made one more video on Vlookup troubleshooting help solving your problem. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/pIbaHjyGt1g/w-d-xo.html
