  • Hold on to your butts this is going to be fun
When creating land masses, Instead of focusing on really slow, methodical technique, try to put down the land masses as quickly as possible.
Assets I imported in to wonder draft.

very cool video. I'll definitely try the "brain-dead" "head empty" approach on my next map.

3:14 There's a wolf head on the right, staring into the face of an old lady on the left. That couldn't have been more perfect.

I find that my maps need a purposely random look to them. Embrace the randomization, but then make it work for your purposes.

Thanks for the vid man, this actually has been quite resonant with me and helped get things going much better than other approaches.
However, after following you for a while I have gotten to a point where I am satisfied with the look of my maps from the point of view of landmass shape and physical geography in general but can never get the human side of things to look alright.
I was wondering if you would consider maybe making a video centred on the use of different symbols in that sense and how you recommend doing so for best effects. Things such as whether to include borders and how to best do so, how to indicate different points of interest (eg. using various forms of dots vs groups of buildings to indicate settlements of different sizes), marking relevant roads/maritime trade routes...
Im aware its not the side of things you usually tackle, but I think it would be a very helpful thing for fantasy map makers

I just got done making a video just on this. Enjoy! I was going to do something different but your suggestion really stuck with me.
