Inside the camp, Theo (Clive Owen from Close My Eyes and Closer) and Kee (Clare-Hope Ashitey) are in a room where Kee begins to give birth. Theo helps her through the process and a baby girl is born. The next day, Syd (Peter Mullan from My Name is Joe) informs Theo and Kee that war has broken out between the British military and the refugees, led by the Fishes.

What’s the Children of Men movie about?
Men, in 2027, have exhausted all the resources of the planet. The last birth was nearly twenty years ago, and despair has generated a climate of violence, anarchism and exacerbated nihilism throughout the world. Britain is the only country to have avoided this descent into hell, by creating a totalitarian regime. Having become the ultimate hope of a disoriented humanity, it attracts thousands of refugees, captured as soon as they arrive, parked in vast regrouping camps and ruthlessly thrown back into the sea. For Theo (Clive Owen from Close My Eyes and Closer), none of this really matters, because the activist he used to be has become a bureaucrat and seems resigned to living from day to day, without worrying about a definitively blocked future. His only pleasure is now to visit his old friend Jasper (Michael Caine from Educating and Little Voice), and to evoke with him their glorious fights. It is then that Theo is kidnapped on the orders of his former companion, Julian (Julianne Moore from Boogie Nights and The Hours), leader of an underground cell that fights for the rights of refugees. Julian asks Theo to get papers for a young woman from the organization, Kee (Clare-Hope Ashitey), and to make sure she leaves the territory safely with a small group of comrades. Theo accepts, in memory of their love, and for a handsome sum. During this perilous journey to the coast, Theo discovers the real reason for this mission: Kee is no ordinary refugee. Eight months pregnant, she is the last hope of the human race, the miracle that everyone has been waiting for for twenty years. And, in each camp, men are ready to do anything to seize her and her future child.

It is amazing how much work went into making this CG baby look so real
Imagine being the 1st woman to become a mother in 18 years and not understanding 1) What caused the infertility crisis, 2) Why you out of millions of women in the world, and 3) How you can raise quite possibly the last child on Earth potentially alone?
Well, at the end it was implied they would develop a cure. So she certainly won't be alone.

As intense and sweet this moment is pictured in the movie, it goes by much too fast, as it does in every movie - for dramatic purposes, I guess. In real life the process of birth can take a few hours (and even 24 hours and more!).
yes when i was giving birth my husband took video , it was 5 hrs of me pushing and i was in labor for over 24 hrs ! but with my 2nd pregnancy the baby popped out 10 mins after i started pushing thankfully

No, they smell the blood and anxiety and it’s sending them ape. Take it from me and experience, and suffice it to say: NEVER allow a dog in the birthing room

Maybe
stomach doesn't get flat right after birth, unfortunately. it takes time for the uterus to shrink back and it can take even weeks and that is why the first few weeks during lactation women feel pain in their stomach due to the shrinking uterus.
