Sounds great- but once bitten, twice shy- I will never buy another Blackstar amp. I bought their first Club 40 model- and long story short- it lasted maybe a year and then that was that- zap. It won't make a peep- no matter what you do. Could be a tube- or could be something totally different, something that can't really be repaired. The fact that no outputs work- not even the digitally simulated outputs- makes me worry it's more than a tube. But tubes cost so much I really can't afford to just roll the dice and find out- nor would I know how to change them. I keep saying I'm going to phone Blackstar's service department here in the US- but tbh I have no idea if that even exists. If it does- shipping this thing to them and back would cost so much- and paying for the repair- I just went ahead and bought a UAFX Lion 68 and called it a day. And once I rebuilt my board- went with the DigiTech DF-7 dist. and a tube screamer for my drive section- and the Keeley parallax for reverb and delay- I think it sounds as good as the Blackstar. I hate to admit it, because I'm p.o.ed about it tearing up, but the Blackstar club 40 sounded amazing. I replaced the speaker with a Celestion cream back and man- it really came alive. If it hadn't torn up like that, it would've been one of my favorite amps ever.
Definitely worth a phone call. At least get some answers before tossing it. But I get your frustration and unfortunately tubes do go out and they can be costly!
Never again willi purchase a Blackstar amp! Had a terrible time with a club 40 as someone else stated in the comments and the tech i took it to said all the solder joints were iffy and terrible and I'd have better luck buying something else and he was a licensed Blackstar warranty shop.
I normally would never consider another Blackstar amp but this sounds pretty decent.
Thank you! 🙂
We listened to a lot of feedback and acted on it. It's been a long road, lots of hard work, but we're very proud of this amp
sounds killer
I’ll never understand why people are demoing an amp to let the listener hear what it sounds like,Then just put pedals on the whole time!!

Less shred notes and more feeling and musicality.
