you've got a great selection of vids. i look forward to watching future videos, and hoping to see your thoughts on the metal virus arc sometime in the future too!
Hey, Nick! Glad to see you again with another IDW review. Regarding Silver's destroyed future as a continuous plot thread, would it be better if SEGA/Sonic Team retconned that and make Silver stay in Sonic's timeline? I can understand why some fans are annoyed with Silver randomly coming back on a whim. One could argue that if he stays in the present with Sonic, his overall purpose/motivation wouldn't feel redundant. I agree with what you said about Sonic and Silver's dynamic. Sonic's confidence and cocky nature, mixed with Silver's inexperience and dorky nature creates a nice counterbalance between them. If Silver wasn't from the future, I'd happily ship him with the Blue Blur. (I headcanon Sonic as bi, accepting anyone regardless of gender). I still appreciate Sonamy, but shipping in the Sonic fandom is like an experiment. I like to expand my horizons. That's what makes it fun and unique. Whether a ship is canon or not, all that really matters is the potential that ship has and how one views it from a different angle. How do you feel about my approach with this? Also, the debut of Dr. Starline is a nice way to wrap up the end of the MM Arc. When I first learned about this character, I initially assumed he was going to be a "Snively" wannabe, but I'm glad I was wrong about that later on. As I saw more of his accomplishments throughout future issues, he immediately became my favorite villain in the Sonic series. Much more than Zavok or the Zeti by a longshot. Mephiles and Merlina were memorable, but Starline outshines them in terms of design and popularity.
I think the ships are fun but not really the point of the series. I think people often see characters as friends and fill the blanks in their mind with things that aren’t there, but as long as it’s all in the name of fun and views aren’t being forced onto others I don’t think any shipping or head cannons are harmful.
@@ItsNickForShort That's understandable. I can already imagine Silver's first date with the charismatic Blue Blur. Sonic being the suave gentleman carrying Silver bridal style when they're travelling the world, Silver cooking chili dogs for Sonic, and their first kiss at Seaside Hill during a calm and relaxing sunset.
7:03 I audibly uttered the phrase “They’re Vegeta-ing the fucking hedgehog!” I like Vegeta but Shadow isn’t supposed to be Vegeta. He’s supposed to be a foil to Sonic just like Vegeta is to Goku, sure, but they don’t have the same motivations
Wait when has Shadow been been interested in working in teams outside of Team Dark or helping in situations that have nothing to do with him and are outside his interest? Maybe it's something in Battle? I haven't beaten it yet, though I know part of why he's interested in Emerl is related to his past. I do have some problems with his characterization in IDW (mainly a certain scene in the Metal Virus saga and how he treats Rouge), but his antisocial nature and the tinker situation are not a problem for me.
Granted, yeah I don't remember him ever being interested in seeking out strong enemies for the sake of it besides Sonic, who is as far as I know the only person he ever seeks to challenge for any sort of ego reason outside of maybe Extreme Gear racing in that one game.
Honestly, I just think IDW should either try and find Shadows flaws and fix the, replace home with a good character, or just remove him all together, Shadow nobody wants you.
@@panch3470 If SEGA wants him to act that way....then he those....we are not his creatiors. (And he cannot even act like in SA2 becouse his brain got fucked up two times.)
I think rouge was speaking metamoriphically when she said "looking for the strongest threat" as she was referencing neo metal sonic.
That... doesn't change anything. At all.
This new idw content is really good I'm excited for you to cover the next saga
Goodbye metal madness,hello metal sadness.

I miss shadow.... Sega should really just make a new character to fill shadows current role. Scourge the hedgehog?
a tip : you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Edgar Finley Definitely, I have been watching on flixzone for since december myself :D

Yo, your blaze the cat video isn’t in the sonic storytelling playlist

Remember Ken Penders
So they basically made shadow an edgy parody of vegita?
Essentially yes
ilverthehedgehog
I hate that guys want to "fix" shadow. He is exactly like in the games or better Forces....a adult.
But that's not how shadow should act

@@Zero_de_Nova I'm hoping shadow is in the next game so everybody can see what sega did to shadow
"Adult" my ass. He's a Vegeta wannabe, when he used to be more mature and an actually decent character instead of a caricature of edgy stereotypes.
@@syweb2 Having a high temper or being always angry dont makes you edgy. Thats a normal charakter trait.
