Seaglass Beach Devastated by Storm ⛈️

Known as one of the best Seaglass beaches in Cape Breton Island, Dominion Beach was devastated by a storm that passed through yesterday. The ocean has come up to where people once walked. Removing a long stretch of boardwalk and close to opening up a waterway from the pond on the other side, to the ocean…. which is likely to happen in the near future now leaving only one entrance to the now devastated sandbar. I grew up swimming at this beach and got all of my swimming badges here…. It’s amazing how much the ocean can change a landscape over time. I did manage to find myself a few treasures along the way and an encounter with some beautiful wildlife 🙌🏻🦅🌊

I am surprised they keep repairing/rebuilding the boardwalk there. It has been badly damaged by storms a few times over the years. Nothing stops Mother Nature. Beautiful seaglass finds, and of course the eagle was a real treat.

I am absolutely floored by the state of Dominion Beach. All the sand is gone 😢. I knew it rained hard but didn’t even hear that the wind and ocean we that high. Incredible force of nature.
