Good video! I inherited my late fathers 1975 browning b2g sp trap. Its pretty much the twin of the one in your video, though mine was engraved by sophie Pergal. It is a stunning gun and i shoot it every week. It must have shot a couple of hundred thousand rounds over its life and yet it still shoots beautifully with a broken ejector being its only breakdown. For me the best feature is the ultra wide rib, it frames the target beautifully and when she is hot it keeps the haze away from the foresight. Cracking good gun!
Lacquer is 100% waterproof and flexible so it doesn't crack. Applies via spray guns so it's easy and dries fast. Lacquer has been used on wood forever even back to the ancient Egyptians and seems plenty durable mainly because water can't touch it so moisture can't ruin or rot your wood objects. I'm guessing the main reason was the perfection of spray applicators for less labour involved and the drying times being so short made for fast turnaround times.
I own a number of Brownings but no B25 yet. Really enjoy learning about them in your videos. I've always thought lacquering was done to save time and therefore cost?
I have just bought a FN B25 B2G that is also engraved by Luis Acampo. It has a lovely swan-neck stock and a snabel forend, narrow rib, choked 1/4 and 3/4, 28" barrels. How much does the gun in the video weight? Thanks for the great video.
Hello sir, Thx for your video. A buddy of mine own a B25 FN, build 1984. But there is a bolt missing. M3 is just to large. Could you or someone else tell me if the bolt used even are metrical ? I mean with a metrical tread like f.e. m2 ? Or is it a different tread that is used. Something American maybe ?

Thank you very much. We're going to leave the lacquering question unanswered for the time being.

Definitely does not look like American walnut to me but light walnut from Europe.
