Correction: Flip cancels are not done via doing the opposite direction of the flip. It's done by pulling the stick in the _pitch's_ opposite direction. If you do a diagonal forward-left flip, you don't flip cancel into the bottom-right. You flip cancel straight down. Only the pitch axis can be canceled. Additional information: By "slight flip cancel", Jack means to cancel the flip for a short amount of time and then stop canceling. This allows the pitch axis to spin again which gives you a great deal of control of where you face your car after these diagonal flip cancels.
@@riskiwnl Only pitch can be canceled (lean forward/lean back), so you only cancel straight up or straight down on the stick. Diagonal cancels don't do anything but possibly weaken the cancel.
@@riskiwnl If go front/ front+left / front+right flip, hold down on left stick = boom flip cancel If go back/ back+left/ back+right flip, hold up on left stick = boom flip cancel
If you're going for a double reset, then to get the second reset I usually do a cancel. But if you're talking about just getting a single reset off the wall, no not necessary at all. Lots of videos out there that explain it better than this 40 second clip.
@@luscens well it really just comes down to car control. you need to quickly realise what position ur car is and find a way to hit the ball using boost and ur flip. learning air roll helps a lot (rings maps are great for it). also having a lot of momentum when hitting the ball with the underside of your car helps u as u dont bounce down off the ball

No,it allows you to adjust the position of your car while in the air. It's pretty handy because it allows you to flip to the ball and catch it mid-air and air dribble it.
except if this speedflip is a set mechanic, this is a concept. it varies in different situations in terms of direction, when to cancel, how to air roll and just generally in maintaning control. i would imagine, im not that good myself
